December Exercise Challenge

1361/1200, what a way to finish the year!

This month was also the yearly high in miles for me!
 
1405/1500 minutes...............so close..................:cool1:
 

Just got back from Stone Mountain and did a lot of mountain hiking. Also, I need to record from a week ago...according to my log, as of today, I am at:

930/1000
 
1000/1000 Made it to goal!

I'm going to set a goal of 1100 minutes for January. I seem to have hurt my leg some, so that may trip me up, but I'm hoping I'll be able to do it.

Also, I know that we don't usually do annual goals on this board, but since it'll be a new year, my goal is to do 12,000 minutes in 2008.

Mom2cookies, I know we have a lot of very dedicated exercisers on this thread, and looking at their numbers can be intimidating! (I sometimes feel that way, looking at the folks doing 1500 minutes or whatever.) But, the important thing is that you are exercising. Most Americans don't exercise at all!

The government recommendation is 30 minutes of exercise 5 days a week. That's about 600 minutes a month. So, if you can make your 600 minute goal next month, you'll be there!
 
I am so close. 30 minutes in Detroit and 30 minutes in Nauvoo, IL. Now at

510/600.

Can I do the last 90 minutes? Yes I know I can.

Another 149 minutes this week, so now I'm 595/530. I surpassed my goal! And I still have another day to (maybe) exercise.
 
Updated!!!

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to update-just so busy around here. This is the first time in 16 years that I have had this week off, and I have had so much to do and enjoy with my family!!! Plus today I had to shovel the 12 inches of snow we got last night!!!

Tomorrow there will be a new thread for the month of January, and going with JudyS 's suggestion, I will have a sub-section for a exercise goal for the year. I am hoping to kick major booty in the coming months, trying to get down to a size 8 by May for my cruise. I just got into a 12, bought a pair of size 10 jeans as motivation. (I can pull them on with some work but cannot button them for love or money).

30 minutes in Blytheville, AR. Monthly total

540/600.

I am very disappointed that I did not make my goal. It was a measly little goal and I could not even do that. I remember starting the month off really strong and then struggling. Exercising while traveling has been quite a challenge. After a day on the road there is just so much that needs to be done in the hotel room and then I just want to collapse into bed.

This has been a wonderful experience anyway and I will be signing up for January's challenge with an increased goal.

Hey, you did 540 minutes more than nothing!

As for exercising while traveling, that's not necessarily easy. I was away for New Year's and wanted to exercise at the hotel, and a big group of bratty kids (from maybe 8 to 12 years old) were watching me through the door of the exercise room and making fun of me! I found this quite upsetting.
