Hey all,

Myself :surfweb: and my wife :bride: are off on our very first trip to Disney this winter:santa: , all the way across from the UK. We're trying to work out what type of clothing we need to take with us, but we're coming up a little stumped so far.:confused3

We've looked on plenty of websites that tell us we need a poncho and some sunblock, etc. but nothing that says jumper & jeans or shorts and a T-shirt.

Any seasoned veterans out there able to lend a helping hand?

We have been there at the beginning of December where you could swim one day and a few days later you needed jeans, a sweatshirt, jacket and gloves on. You really need to bring both warm weather clothes and cold weather clothes. I would bring a jacket or you will be buying one, along with a hat/gloves. You really need to pack for Fall, Winter and Spring. Have fun.

We always go in the December, but early December that is. I pack jeans, because its not too hot, not too cold. I have worn shorts already & I was cold in the morning, fine throughout the day but cold again while waiting for the fireworks. So, we stick to jeans or pants, short sleeve shirts & we bring a light jacket if needed. HTH

We were there in the beginning of Dec last year, and we brought both shorts and pants. One day, we started our dd off in pants and a tshirt, and by the afternoon, she was way too hot. Then the last day, we needed pants, sweatshirts and jacket. I would imagine that if we were there that evening, we would have used hats and gloves too.

Yes, jeans are best because not too hot in the middle of the day, but good for cooler mornings & evenings. The problem with Florida weather is it fluctuates so much. One year at Christmas we were swimming the beginning of the week, and buying emergency fleece jackets, wool hats & gloves the end of the week. It is so hard to pack EVERYTHING, so I usually try to pack middle of the road - jeans, t-shirts, lightweight jackets, and long sleeve shirts - then you can layer in the morning & evening, and be warm, and strip off layers in the middle of the day.

Layer, layer, layer. As other posters have stated you may wear shorts on one day and need a jacket, hat and gloves on the next day.

We had a lot more luggage in the winter.

Have a short-sleeved shirt and pants (jeans, khakis, short/capris) for every day, 1 or 2 long-sleeved shirts, 1 sweater/sweatshirt and 1 jacket. Throw in a rain poncho, a knit hat and gloves for good measure. That should keep you covered. :rotfl:

We are going again nov 28 tell dec 14. Last year we swam everyday and wore shorts everyday but on the night we went to mvmcp becouse we took them and put pants in the locker for the night. We came from 20 degree weather so it was hot down there at 70 for us. If you are staying at one of the allstars we have a fridge swap going on you can join. link is in the bottem of the page. Mum

we went in Dec 05 and I faced the same questions what to pack and I just did not want to pack for every season so i paid close attention to the weather forecast up until just a few hours of leaving....ended up leaving in a pair of shorts and a t shirt which we did not need and took jeans and sweatershirts, long sleeved things and still froze. I was happy to have my scarf and mittens with me thanks to tips from the DISboards...We live 911 miles north of Mickey and Minnie so we are acustomed to cold weather infact we left 8 inches of snow at home that year but for some reason whether real or imagined 50 degrees seemed much colder in Florida then Ohio and once the sun went down BRRRRR...we still bought sweatshirts. so either pack extra clothes or extra $$$$...but don't forget the coat and gloves especially if you are doing anything after dark....Welcome to the DIS :wave2:

We went in early December and there were only 2 days that it was warm enough to swim. We did wear shorts during the day but most nights we ended up in jackets and we actually had gloves and scarves on the night we went to the Christmas party. You do need to bring a little of everything which is kinda hard. Make sure to bring some rain gear too just in case.
