DECEMBER Cruising???

We are thinking of doing a land/sea just before Christmas and were wondering what the cruise is like in December for weather etc. thanks.

It depends -- we cruised last December -- the 3-day Wonder. Warm enough for shorts on board, but Saturday (the Castaway Cay day) a front came through -- cold, windy, overcast -- so windy, in fact, we couldn't dock at Castaway Cay. Would have been too cold to be on the beach anyway. Sunday when we arrived back at Port Canaveral it was in the high 30's.

We cruised week before Christmas in 2002. It is great to travel in December as the ship beautifully decorated!

The weather is definitely unpredictable and was jacket weather leaving port. However, once out in the ocean we were blessed with much warmer 75*- 80*weather. St. T., St. M. and Castaway water cold, but tolerable. Beach very sunny, warm and perfect for stretching out in hammock.
At any rate, better than our Dec. cold Md. weather!

My family and I cruised over Christmas 2000, and it was a tad chillier than I expected. My mom swam in the adult pool, but I thought it was too cold to swim. Once we got to the ports, it warmed up quite a bit, but the ship was still cool.

Just remember to bring some pants and a sweatshirt and you'll be fine
