December cruise

Hi! We are doing a 4 night cruise to the Bahamas on the Dream Dec 2016. I was wondering what we can expect the temperature to be around that time of year? I expect it to be warm in the Bahamas but what about the ship as we are sailing ? Do people dress warm on the ship or summer attire? Thanks in advance

Unless there is cold front that hits Florida, you will likely be in summer attire from the day you board to return. I cruised the first week of December 2015. I took a sweater to the dining rooms with me since I usually had sleeveless dresses, but I rarely needed one. The only time one of us had on long pants was my dad on the day we went to Palo for brunch and once or twice in the MDR as he usually wore nice dress shorts.

Now, I have been to Florida when it was super cold, so it can happen. I did make sure to take 1 pair of long pants and a sweatshirt with me for the trip just in case the weather got a cold front.

Thank you for your insight!! I actually went on the DCL years ago in December but cannot for the life of me remember what the temp was like. Lol I do tend to get cold in restaurants and the theaters. so I probably will bring some sweaters to go over my short sleeve attire... Just to be safe !!!

Last year, we were on the dream in Mid December and it was the most perfect weather. Around 80 degrees every day and no rain at all. It was the perfect trip.

I think that question is relative.

I'm a former South Floridian who spent almost every NYE at Atlantis. Bahamas and SoFla are same temps.. Too cold for me to swim anytime past October..outside of diving in a wet suit.
I wore a lot of sweaters.. And have 1 pic of me sitting of the beach in sweatpants/sweatshirt with my sister who was laying out in a bikini lol

We will be in Castaway Cay 1st week of December and I know I'm going to freeze in the ocean.. I also know that it won't bother my son one bit and he'll want to swim the entire time..so I'll have to suck it up and do it.

Pack some sweaters/pants just to be safe
