December Crowds

Have been watching this board for ages and have even been known to dip my toe in and make the rare post.

Bit of a silly question, we went to WDW last year over Christmas Dec 24th onwards and found it very very busy.

Due to my job I have again got to travel in December but it looks like we will leave on Dec 13th for two weeks.

Can anyone tell me what the crowds are like, is it as busy as December 24th onwards.

Last year we were told that Bush Gardens is the place to visit on Dec 25th as it is nice and quiet with no queues for rides etc. Can anyone confirm this please

We have never been over the Christmas period, but we went the week <i>before</i> Christmas in 2001 and two weeks <i>after</i> Christmas this year. We will also be there 3-12 December this year.

Everything I've read suggests that you will notice a huge difference in the crowds between your first and second weeks. Certainly we found the week before Christmas in 2001 to be very manageable (we flew home on December 23rd).

We arrived January 1st this year and I was surprised at how busy it was - I'd expected the crowds to disappear after the "Christmas through New Year" period (the busiest time of all at WDW), but it was a few more days before it could be described as quiet.

We were ther last year from the 19th December until 2nd January. The first week was bliss no crowds. Even Christmas day when we went to MGM we had reletivley little wait for any of the rides. Boxing day we went to Discovery Cove and it was wonderful, but the day after and everday right up until the day we left was a nightmare, I could not believe how many people had arrived after Boxing Day. If you were not in the parks by 11am you were not going to be as they closed them. I think the first 2 weeks should be great.
