There was alot of talk just awhile ago about deerflies. I was wondering, as screen houses go on sale, if anyone knows what the situation is in December.

thanks,
Micki

Deer flies and bugs in general are not a problem in December. I am not saying there will be 0 bugs. But they will not be a problem.

We had LOTS of rain Dec 02 and some flooding situations at the campground and I did get some mosquito bites then.

FYI screen houses at Wal-Mart are around $35.00

Rain is officially banned for this December 12-19. LOL. Thanks for the price update. Maybe its the better one than we have. We bought a $40 one last year. We call it the awning from you know where.

Hey clkelley,
Sounds like you were there the same week I was last Dec!! We had a campsite that backed up to a canal. When we checked in on Sat., the water was stagnent and green...didn't have any bugs though. We had so much rain on Monday, it must of stirred the mosquitos and we woke up Tues morning and found the INSIDE of the camper swarming with mosquitos!! We spent a half hour swatting them...really nasty...they all were 'well fed', shall we say! I called the front desk and they sent someone out Tues to treat the canals. We had to light one of those Off Coils inside the camper and leave really fast that morning!! :(

We have been in Dec., it is our favorite time to go! You really don't see any bugs, just a little rain. Just remember as far as packing, to bring a little of everything. We were wearing shorts and t-shirts one day, and sweatshirts and jeans the next.
The camp ground is beautiful in Dec. The decorations add to an already great place to stay.
We are planning on going in Dec. of 2004 now that we are living on the east coast again.
Happy planning!:)

Thanks Parmtoo!

We've been in december before....one year it was so nice we mailed back our warm clothes so we could have room to buy souvees. AHHHH, pre-kid trips in the corvette :smooth:

but THIS will be just as fun, our first trip camping at the fort.

it'll be the 7yr olds third trip to Disney. Isn't that a shame? Kids put a kink in things, we used to go every year

No, no, no... I was told the rain ban was in effect from Dec 19-27. :p

Too bad they're going to have a drought down there this Dec - a whole month with no rain!

What the heck. we've been camping 29 nights this summer and I think its rained 25 of them. We wouldn't know what to do if it was dry and we were having fun at the same time.

Boy,
Do I hate to be the one to break this news here. according to an AP report out just today, Eisner has reported that due to cutbacks, even in the face of slightly increased attendance, the negotiations with "You Know Who" have broken down with concern to the "No Rain" dictate that had previously been negotiated for this December.
"You Know Who" could not be reached for comment, and further details were not available.
Talks were expected to continue.
Sorry.
:smooth: :smooth: :bounce: :smooth: :smooth:
