Has anyone ever taken a family to Disney in December - before Christmas? Is there a lot to do, is the weather decent?

December is our favorite month to visit! We've been the first week twice, the second week once, the week before Christmas (heading home on Christmas Eve) once and Christmas/New Years week twice.

Crowd wise mid December seems best. The weather is unpredictable though. We've been there and been sweaty hot and we've been there bundled in sweatshirts, coats, hats and gloves. Usually it's sweatshirts on in the morning and evening but shorts and tee shirts during the day.

At the top of the page you will see a Search button. Click on that and put in Christmas in Disney. I did that recently and found lots of stuff! They just started ADR's for Christmas so if your going check out dinner options soon!

Have a great trip!:santa:

My favourite time at WDW!

Expect the weather to be variable--it can be in the 80s or the 30s. If you live in a cold climate, you're already set for the cold, just bring layers for everything from warm through in between. Definitely bring swimsuits. May or may not be warm enough to use them, but probably will be at least some days.

Crowds are bigger than they were a few years ago, but very manageable. You'll still need ADRs for the most popular TS restaurants and times, as well as FastPasses for the most popular rides. Never have managed a FastPass for Soarin'--I don't do mornings! And the standby line tends to be very long!

One of the best times of years. Weather is usually nice in December still. And Disney does wonderful and magical decorations.

We've been twice the first week-loved it--that's also my oldest ones birthday week. We went once the 2nd week-still good, but noticed a definite increase in crowds toward the end of that week. Schools here (in our part of TX) don't get out usually until the Friday before Christmas, but I think lots of other schools let out a whole week before. The weather is up in the air. We've swam and worn tee shirts, and had to buy gloves and hats. Just keep checking the local weather--that's what we did and it was pretty accurate. I think the best website we used was accuweather. Maybe someone will post the best local weather station.

My cousin went last year, third week of december. They loved it. Sweatshirts early mornings and late evenings and short sleeves during the day!! Crowds were ok.

We are going the third week in Dec. the 14th throught the 19ths - weekdays hoping the crowds are lighter. I am from the north so I guess I should pack the variety that we will need so we can shed during the day. Sounds like our fall and springs - cold starts, nice days, cold endings :)

Thanks for all of the tips. I am so looking forward to the decorations!
