Glad to have you with us..my name is Denise and traveling with DH Wally no kids..grown and out of the house.
Yes, please check philatiger's (chuck) page..and sign up on the roll call, he actually has left for Disney last night and will be gone for awhile, but he said he would be checking in with us, so he will get you added to the call. There is also a sign up for the FE if your interested.
We also on this site do a little thing, we try and see he can get the "top of the page" a little silly but it makes for a little fun on here..plus I am keeping track of that.
So any suggestions that you have will be more than welcomed. Oh and check on on Chuck's site we are doing a voting for a name for our group. Once you make a decision just vote.

I can't believe we're at a year!!! So exciting

I am having a hard time with my 6 year old following directions at home and cleaning her room. Even when Our Elf on the Shelf is watching.... What are some tricks you guys have used?

I am having a hard time with my 6 year old following directions at home and cleaning her room. Even when Our Elf on the Shelf is watching.... What are some tricks you guys have used?

Gee, I dont know....if the elf isnt working, have you tried telling her she MAY end up on the naughty list? Or if you will be baking cookies, maybe tell her if she cleans her room, you will let her help you with cooking baking? Or help wraping gifts?? I guess I am just not used to having little one's around anymore.

I knew once Chuck left, other people would have a better chance of getting the top!!

I'm your southern neighbor (CA), Angie, and I'm sailing with my main squeeze and traveling companion, John (VA). Kids are grown and out of the house with hopes of starting families of their own. We love Disney and cruising making DCL a great match.

Look forward to "seeing" you on the boards!

We left Philly last night and arrived in Savannah at 7:00AM with a few stops along the way. We made pretty good time, but never again will I drive it at night, nothing but trees and the reflectors on the road to look at. It gets old pretty fast.

Here are a few pics:

South of the Border at 4:00AM, nothing was open but we can say we were there.

Mrs Wilkes in Savannah, food was really good, my favorite was the squash casserole, I could have eaten a whole bowl myself.

Our kids are all grown now. What worked for me is to tell my daughter if she didn't clean her room I would. I went into her room with the door closed and a black garbage bag. I staighten her room and empty her garbage and put misc. junk off the floor in the bag. I then tape it shut and tossed the bag in the garbage can. I only had to do this once and to this day she is sure I tossed all kinds of toys (she is 20 now)

That is a great idea, I will try that. I gave her until tonight to have it done. I told her it would be sad if Eva our Elf told Santa she wouldn't clean her room and all that she got was a lump of coal... That lead into a conversation on what is coal.......... I ll let you know tonight what happens... She is a polite and kind kid just hates cleaning her room and doing homework.... Lol

thats ok, i'm 50something and I still hate housework, especially the bathroom...hate cleaning the bathroom

I've used the I'll clean it up and you won't like when I do!

I had two boys 15 months apart that shared a room....one neatnik who had everything in its place and woe be anyone who disturbed it and one who was a total slob.....
I was ever so glad when we were able to get them in separate rooms....

Our boys are grown too and we are enjoying life as grandparents....no more headaches for us!
Our boys are 31 and 30.
