I am having the week from hell at work. Why is it all hell breaks loose right before your vacation?

But I keep reminding myself I will be on a ship in 3 days with no computer or phone...

Friends I met on our Dream cruise last year are leaving today for a 3 night on the Dream. I so wish we were in Florida so we could take these mini cruises without the added travel costs.

Oh wouldn't that be great??? I can't wait until we can retire and move to Florida....probably Tampa area....and still run over for a few days or down to the ship for a mini cruise!!! Ahhhhh!!!

Waiting for DVC to open, gonna change our resort for our May trip....

That's one of the things I LOVE about cruising...no phone, no blackberry no computer...work cannot find me!!!

We didn't make our December plans until August and got stuck with Saratoga Springs for the week. We are on a waitlist for Beach Club and Wilderness Lodge.

Hey...SSR is our home resort...and we truly love it! But it's my goal to stay at them all, so very happy with this...have to call tomorrow and add the last day..hopefully there will be an opening! We should be fine though!

I am not fond of resorts that are so spread out. We always get stuck in the most remote room. I prefer the resorts that are hotel like. We would have been happy to stay there if we had not choice, but not our preference.

That's waht we are doing as well. We have the treehouse villa rented for the first part of the week just for the experience. Wanted to break up the week. Our HR is AKV and BLT which are my 2 favorite places.

We are staying in BLT in 20 days! It will be our first time. We don't care for the Contemporary, so unsure how we will like this. Weren't able to get the MK view, sadly.

We've stayed at AKL but not AKV...want to stay at Kidani. I think that's our next goal...or at OKW.

The key to SSR....stay in Grandstand. First on first off the bus, if you just miss the bus it's a short walk to the Springs stop (and the Carriage House) and you can easily catch the bus there at it's last stop!

The quiet pool at Grandstand is never crowded.

Oh wait....can't have EVERYONE knowing my secret....

Forget I said anything...yeah, SSR,...bad resort....

Ok all this talk of going to the parks, I really need a trip there...having been wanting to go for awhile...havent been there really since 2007. I'm not a DVC owner, altho I have now thought about it, because of my grandaughter, but since my daughter can never "committ" to anything, I'm even holding off on that.
I had my daugher pretty convienced to go this coming April to the parks to take Isabella for her 4th birthday, but now she is re-think that, and she may not be able to swing it......I really hate the military and its policies at times....but still pround that she is serving our country....

So all of you guys have a good time and maybe I can find someone to go with me....Wally is so so on going, he has back issues, so he dosnt want to go as he feels he cant do all that walking. ( I did tell him to get a motorized scooter, then we could be first on all the rides) but dont want to abuse that system either....

I'm still holding out hope that she may still be able to go in April.


Wow that sure was a long rant......

Chuck...I think that this must be a bad week all around....it has been horrible at work this week to. but it does always seem to happen right before vacation......

This will be my last post until we get back. Hope everyone has a great week.

Tropical Storm Rafael has decided to create a ruckus for us and is heading straight for Bermuda next week, may turn into a hurricane. Our cruise will probably be impacted. Guess I will take some bonine this trip since the waters are gonna be pretty rough. Not much we can do about it, so we will take it in stride.

We are coming in to our cyclone season and I'm hoping that after Cyclone Yasi the other year we don't get another cross near us anytime soon. It crossed about 150klms (don't know what that it is miles) or so north of us but it still did a lot of damage where I live.

So, I'm looking for ideas. What are some of the best FE gifts you have received (or would like to receive if you've never participated before)?

I've only participated in the one and I was amazed at the generosity of those in our group. I'm amazed at the amount of detail that many people go to for theirs; I've been reading different threads on FE gifts and sometimes I think my ideas are rather lame compared to what really crafty people are doing
