DECEMBER 6, 2009 Winter WONDERland sailing!!!

My own parents can't understand the lure of Disney and/or Disney Cruising (what, no casino?!) My son gets it and would love to do a cruise when the kids are a little older (read: potty trained)

The thing I like (with my extensive one-cruise experience) is that Disney does do a wonderful job of giving the adults their own space and keeping the kids busy.

Smiles,

Holly

I updated our cruise website to include a link to our thread on the PassPorter Community for this as well as to this DIS thread, since many of us are members of both boards. Hopefully that way we'll end up with a more complete listing.

Here is a "happy" thought for those who are sailing in Cat. 11:

Although the split bathrooms of the higher categories are nice when one person needs to use the "facilities" while another is showering, those split bathrooms can be a VERY tight fit. It's possible to end up with a few bruises from having knocked against something while simply turning around! I stayed in a Cat. 11 once when I did a last minute back-to-back (second part of my cruise was in Cat. 7). I really ENJOYED the extra room in the NON-split bath! ::MinnieMo

Hi there, Lynn! I wondered where you'd been!

Ahhhh - The California coolness sounds glorious to me. Even though we've cooled down a bit here in FL, it's still too darn warm for my liking! I like a change of seasons. What I will never get used to here is that even in January we can have 85 degree days followed immediately by 45 or 50 degree days (and freezing overnight) if there is a "cold front," then right back to 85 or more. Those drastic changes in temp usually make me come down with something. Grrrrr. It is 83 here as I write this. I've been outside putting up some Halloween decorations and SWEATING. That just doesn't feel right! :confused3

:rotfl: i know right??? i cant tell you how many times I have had pictures on my windows or door where after halloween I had to throw them away because the hot sun faded them...sheesh...last year was the best year I can ever remember...by the end of Aug. it had gotten down into the high 80's and as of sept it was in the high 70's low 80's and we actually had a full fall season...I totally loved it...now that its gearing toward mid oct. I think its starting to be more normal...ive been checking the weather for anaheim and its still really warm...i think yesterday it was in the 90's:faint:...it better get down before I go dang it...

Ha-ha - I was complaining as I started putting all the nice "picture" Halloween decals on the windows and storm door glass, wondering why they don't look as good as they used to and then recalling how much the sun glared on them every October.

Most years at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at WDW, I wear some sort of costume and SWEAT all evening. Stupid me! Last year I was wearing a furry Dale (of Chip 'n' Dale) hat and asking myself, "WHY am I wearing FUR?" as the perspiration flowed freely. :rolleyes1

Not to make anyone jealous, but this is how the trees look up here right now. They're predicting a few snow flurries on Sunday. As for Halloween, we have the opposite problem. It's usually so cold the kids only trick or treat on our street before they're too cold to go on.

Jason - I couldn't get the link to load, but I can imagine, so I AM jealous!

I checked the weather for my "other home" in Idaho, and it is currently 37 degrees there . . only problem is that there's light rain. Rain I can do without as I see enough of that here. ;)

oh now thats just meaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan....you knew we would be very very EXTREMELY jealous and you still did it anyway:rotfl: that is absolutely gorgeous!!! well sheesh thats no fun if they are too cold to trick or treat...bundle them up dang it!

I got those autumn trees pics to load. I think I'm going to CRY! I want a real FALL here!

Good morning, all! Has anyone started packing yet? Just kidding!

However, I did update my packing list. I'm ready! Well, almost ready . . I need to renew my passport again.

Ha ha...nope having started packing yet. BUT, I am thinking of what I might like to wear for dinner, etc.

I also work part-time in a retail store and every time I pass racks of clothes I find myself thinking, "that might look nice on the cruise..." ;)

Smiles,
Holly

Ahhh, but you should probably wait until much closer to the cruise to buy any new clothes for it. Don't you think?

To clarify my previous post: How many of us know what size we will wear over a year from now? Like Holly, I see things in the stores and am so tempted to buy, with the idea of wearing them on this cruise. Then I realize that although my weight fluctuates a bit in either direction as my norm, like most, I am HOPING to lose a fair amount of weight by the time we sail. What that will mean is that the attire I've worn for the previous 11 cruises (Yes - I dress up a lot but stick to mostly the same set of outfits cruise after cruise - LOL) MAY not fit me by then. Shopping time! But not knowing what my size will be around cruise time, I am forcing myself to hold off until a month or two before sailing.

Am I the only one with that line of thinking? :confused3

Well, Shari knows that I am "watching" what I eat and hope that results in a much slimmer figure by cruise time.

By the way - to get us in the mood - I snagged a photo someone posted on a thread today:

The MAGIC Sailing out Today:

wonder-sailing.jpg

(although since it's Saturday...wouldn't that be The Magic? YEP it is The Magic) Still - in just 1 year, 1 month and 26 days WE will be sailing out on the Wonder!!)

no no no no...I am already buying and have been buying clothes for the cruise...I cant wait until closer to it to start buying else I will not have any money for the trip...

Well, Shari knows that I am "watching" what I eat and hope that results in a much slimmer figure by cruise time.

you know what...I just dont care and will not care to worry about weight for anything...I have no desire to meet and fall in love and get married(been there done that over it!!) or care what people think about me as far as weight goes and when you see me you will definitely see what I mean...Im a BIG lady and Im just out to have fun and not worry about it....when its my time to go its my time to go so I am not going to spend it worrying about weight...ive seen so many people who watched their weight and exercise regularly and faithfully and they still keeled over and because I know Im going to go when Im supposed to whether its because of weight or something else I choose to eat:lmao: but thankfully I seem to fluxuate between 2 sizes so thats the good thing about it, knowing I can buy clothes now and they will fit next year...

Hence why I am not "dieting" - but I AM watching what I eat as I personally want to be slimmer as I don't feel good physically at my present weight. (which since I don't own a scale - I have no idea of what that is - I just know I felt better being less "fluffy")

I actually have tons of clothes several sizes down - so its like having an all new wardrobe whenever I do drop some!

Smiles,
Holly
