December 26, 2006, on the MAGIC!!!!

With unimaginable sadness, I must bid you all bon voyage... After a serious heart to heart with the hubby today, we decided to cancel our reservation on this cruise. :( We've been in our new home for just about one year now, and it's finally time to do all those things we couldn't do while under warranty for fear of the builder having any excuse not to honor our warranty. We did the math--we were paying $3400 for this 4-nighter, versus the 7-night Disney cruise we're taking next year (yes, we do have something to look for ward to!) in the same level cabin for $1000 less... we just couldn't justify it, especially with the amount of money we've got going out inthe next few months. My heart is breaking. Well, the good news is that we've got enough DVC points to go to WDW for a few nights over the holidays while we have family in town (we're local, luckily, so we can wait until the last minute to make plans!!!)

I pray you all have a MAGICal trip! I'd be happy to keep up the website if anyone sends me their info--it's plenty easy, and since I know we're going next year FOR SURE, I'm not in a major depression. But I should be. :wave2: Have a great trip!!!

My heart goes out to you, Kim. I was very much looking forward to meeting you. Thank you so much for all you did with the website and your offer to keep it up. Take care and have fun planning your next DCL vacation.

Thanks Sandra. I REALLY wanted to meet all of you, too. I think it was the right thing to do for now... Next year will be better timing for us, I think. I'll just have to watch out for one of those FL resident rate can't-be-beat fares in April or May over a weekend!!! We were just impacting holiday plans for our whole family, and my DS was already asking how many Christmas toys we'd be able to bring with us... it'd be hard to get him to walk away from everything. We were feeling guilty about boarding our dogs over the holidays, too, plus we couldn't board them where they're used to staying. Now I can plan on cooking, and not have to throw all the leftovers away!!! :thumbsup2 Oh, I did break the news to DS this afternoon--he took it well--very understanding. He's more interested in the 7-day we booked for next year, because he wants to go to Mexico. :goodvibes We're okay with the decision... but I still REALLY want to go...

Have a MAGICal cruise!!! :cheer2:

How did all of you CC members do with your 90-day ressies? Did you leave any brunch times for the rest of us?

Getting verrrrrrry excited! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :cool1:

Sorry to hear of this decision, was looking forward to meeting you! At least you do have another cruise to look forward to!

I'll have an extra Chocolate Soufle in your honour!

Oh! That hurts! :guilty: Will they open up more for us 75-dayers? :confused3

I'm in physical pain right now.

I hope so! I love brunch better than Dinner!

Ok, so I tried again today, and still no Palo Brunch!

Did anybody get Brunch Booked?

j

Kim sorry you had to cancel!!

We have never booked Palo after we ate there the first time because we enjoy eating with our kids and for brunch we just way overate that first time. From what I hear there will be some spots available when you get onboard.

Good luck to anyone still trying. I think we are the last ones to pay off--now have to wait to see what cabin we get--

Beth

Guess we'll be standing in line again.

Janet, want to join us for brunch?

I think we are probably the last to pay off this cruise. We had to make sure the teenager was still going. So probably no Palo for us at all. And still waiting on cabin assignment

So there is a Brunch!

Yes Please! Gotta have my Stolen!

Thanks!

Hey everybody! Was just checking in to see how everyone's ressies went! Oh, how I wish I were going with you! Thanks for the kind words. :goodvibes Well, the BEST thing about these DIS boards is learniing the secrets, like: If you want to eat at Palo, you need to go straight to wehrever they're doing the ressies as soon as you get on the ship (think it was Rockin' Bar D last time I cruised?) Do NOT go to eat, do not go to the pool, do not go to the bathroom! From what I've heard, if you go straight there to make your reservations, you'll have no trouble getting a table. It may not be the night you want, but it probably will! They save plenty of ressies for those who couldn't get them online--not everyone is able to do the 3 AM game, and Disney knows that. Get in line as soon as you get on the boat! :cheer2: GOOD LUCK!!!

Well, I am tres bummed. I got up at 3:00 this morning (it's 75 days for us!!) and there was NOTHING for the at-sea day! :guilty: No Palo brunch, no Palo dinner, no spa appointments. What's up with that? Are they waiting until boarding for that day? Is it possible that the CC members and concierge guests have taken ALL the ressies and appointments? :confused3 Yikes!

Okay--we are way back on the list here--not acceptable!! Since this is a 4 night will it have the Wonder 4 night shows or will it have just 4 of the shows usually seen on the Magic. Also wondering what the dinner menus will be and activities offered.

What is everyone doing in Nassau?

I know this is odd...

If anyone is on the crusie with my mom (eyern AKA Denise) could you ask her to check her email and get back to me! Thanks

So what is everyone doing pre and post cruise? We are staying the night before and after at the BCV.

The night before we are staying at the airport Marriott (on Dad's points) and after we are staying at Ron Jon for 2 nights (going to KSC!!) and then to Coronado Springs for 4 nights.

Have we set up any meets yet? Let's do!
