December 23, 2009 ~ Christmas on the Wonder!

I just got my Fish Extender (who knew?!) and am ready to go. Well ... sort of. What kind of fun things does one shop for for a FE treat? I am so new at this it is scary!
What I can tell you is I have 3 kids that are 7, 9 and 11. My husband and I don't expect anything, but suffice to say we are over 21. :cool1:
I should also mention we are going as Julia's Make A Wish, so if you see us with our MAW shirts, please come up and say hi! We are easy to spot! :)
I can't wait! :santa:

Send me a PM with all your info and I'll get you added to the list!
Names would be good also, since I have everyone else's on the list too.

Congrats on the MAW trip! Are you doing door magnets too? I'd definitely do one for that!

TheBeadPirate is our Fish Extender Leader, so if you haven't yet, please PM her with the following info
-Screen name
-Cabin number
-Number of Adults
-Number of Children with ages in ()
-If you are roommates with someone else who is doing the exchange with their own gift (you then would be considered 2 different groups)
-If there are any allergies (ie nuts, cinnamon, etc in case someone wants to give food)

Cut off date is Dec 1.

There are tons of things you can do for the FE gifts (there's even a thread with TONS of pictures on the main cruise board). I've seen things like magnets from your home state/country, handmade things, other random things from your home state/country, etc etc... Some people do just a gift per cabin, some do something for the adults and something for the kids, etc etc.

I'm so excited too!!!!

Thanks!

Did you ever get your door magnet designs? Just wondered..;) Any chance of a sneak peek? I just printed out ours and put them in the bag.

And Oriental Trading has some cute holiday stuff (browsing the book now- came today) if anyone needs some ideas!

Anyone doing gifts or stockings while onboard? DH and I are doing stockings for each other since the trip is really our "present" to each other. Now I just have to think of some things and get them there without him seeing them...:santa:

LOL - yep I got them done! When I saw how easy the printing process was, I went and got a ton of pictures from google and made a bunch of non-personalized ones! LOL I just took a pic of John's and my personalized ones...once my ipod is done charging I'll upload them here real quick!!

Yep, we're doing stockings at the least. Now...I have no idea what I'm going to put IN his stocking (or moms or Nikki's...) since I'm not going to have much time...but hopefully I figured something out. We'll probably do presents at my moms before we head to Disney and then some on the cruise...

Mkay...I guess I can't upload straight from my computer...which means I have to upload them to shutterfly first. Blah. I'll try to do that tomorrow....it's bedtime here!!

I'm actually going to use a Mickey stocking for my FE since it's Christmas. :santa:

I just received my order from Solutions. They have the cutest ornaments that open up and you can stuff them with trinkets or money. Since my youngest has a birthday on our b2b, I ordered cupcake, present and birthday hat ornaments along with the xmas ones. I will hang them on our little tree that I'm bringing so the kids will have something to open on xmas. I'm also hanging stockings. I'm making door magnets from crafts I ordered from Oriental Trading.

I better start working......

Solutions? I don't know if I've heard of them...I'm gonna have to check it out!
All the stuff you're doing sounds great!! I have a little mini Mickey Mouse tree that I'll be setting up. It's only about a foot tall, but so cute!

Awe!!! CUTE!! My FE is Christmas themed, but it's not a stocking! Great idea!

Btw - I'm flying in to WDW on the 21st, staying at the Port Orleans French Quarter & attending the Candlelight Processional on the 22nd (6:45pm show), so it sounds like I might actually run into you & family before the ship - we might even be on the same bus to the port on Wed am!:goodvibes

How funny!!! We'll be at the Other Port Orleans...which...I can NOT pull the name out of my brain right now!!! Driving me crazy!! And I think we've got an 8:15 Candlelight show, though I'm not sure!! How funny - so close...yet so far. LOL. We'll be driving over from Tampa though, so no bus for us! Though we plan on getting there bright and early so I bet we see each other!!

You guys'll like the French Quarter - it is So Cute!!! Dh and I stayed there the weekend we got engaged. The pool area is really cool - though probably too cold in Dec to go swimming.

Where are you eating before your Candlelight show?

You must be at the Port Orleans Riverside - that is the bigger one. I just changed my Candlelight reservation to the 5pm show, with lunch at the Rose & Crown before that. I want to try to hop over to see the Osborne Lights before MGM closes at 8 (reading up on tips to hopefully get over there faster.....). I'm really not too interested in any of the rides - just want to see all the decorations as I'm told Disney does it up right!

Yes! Riverside! LOL I don't know why but the name of that one Always escapes me.
That's too funny that we're eating at the same place too! Except we'll get there for dinner as you're watching the show!! We're going to go see the Osborne lights too, but probably Sunday night. Disney DOES do it right. It's even More gorgeous there during Christmas. I was so bummed that there were no dates for the Christmas Party while we're there. We go every year. Bummer.

Just a reminder, the Fish Extender Exchange cut off date is Dec 1!

If you plan on joining in please PM me with your info before that date so I can get the list out to those that are travelling early.

Thanks!

Thanks Julie. I hope everything/everyone is ok.

Don't be sorry, I just wanted to remind everyone that time is (finally!) running out, slowly but surely- and I know that a couple of others expressed an interest but have never sent me any info.

Hope everyone is well today- I'm visiting my Grandpa in my old hometown and for kicks and giggles today my aunt and I are raking leaves and cleaning out gutters......woohooo, fun!:rolleyes1

Lol Lori...sounds like fun...

My husband, God love him, is soooo lucky that I'm in Kuwait right now or he might find my finger in his eye or something!!

Yesterday, I asked him AGAIN if he'd tried on his snorkel stuff...and Again he said no. I don't really expect that he will...but it's my job to ask so that when it doesn't fit I can say I told him to try it (LOL). But then he threw out "Well, I don't know if I'm going to go snorkeling". :scared1: As if he has a choice at this point! I asked him before I booked the excursion - multiple times - and before I bought the gear - multiple times. He said it was fine...

So I told him that he's GOING. Period. Now...he's not the best swimmer. He Can swim...but he's not great and his "man pride" won't let him let Me teach him how to be better...I get it. So I let him know that he HAS to wear a snorkel vest, I got him a Dry snorkel, and it being Disney, I'm sure they make sure the whole thing is totally safe.

So I spoke with my mom this morning and she said to tell him that she's not a great swimmer and that Nikki (my sister...she's 9) is even doing it...even though she's a little scared right now. (Nikki is actually an EXCELLENT swimmer...she's just never done anything like this). Soooo...When I talked to him tonight I started to mention this and he says....

Wait for it...

...

"Wait...your mom is coming?"
:headache:
:rotfl2:

Now here's the thing. I told him from the beginning that we were planning this TOGETHER. Every email I've sent out has gone out to both Dh and my mom asking BOTH their opinions. After I booked Palo for Dh and myself, I told him - and mentioned Mom and Nik would meet us after and that it would be a nice romantic thing for us to share alone, etc etc etc.

He says, "Oh...I thought all that was for the cruise next summer". *sigh*

I suppose that's possible. I mean...it's POSSIBLE that because I didn't specify "on the DISNEY cruise" and instead said, "On Christmas Day" that maybe he thought I was talking about our cruise next Aug...

Really...all I can do is laugh. He loves my mom and sis and they love him...so even if this was a "surprise" he's not upset. But it's either :rotfl2: myself silly...or want to poke out his eyeballs for not listening to me!!! MEN!!!

In other news...if you've gotten this far...I've finished my husbands (surprise) stocking AND my moms (surprise) 12x12 layout. *phew* 2 more things to check off my list.

And yeah...I still need to link to my magnets!!

We had a very busy weekend here in Orlando. Since we live very close to Downtown Orlando where the shootings occurred, 2 of my kids were in lockdown in their schools on Friday and we were late picking up the others because the roads were closed!! Talk about starting off the weekend on the wrong foot! My kids were very upset so we wanted them to have a good weekend so we spent all weekend in Disney. Epcot was jammed today because it is the last day of F & W. We couldn't get ressies to eat anywhere. The weather was finally cool enough that you could breathe.

I can't believe this trip is sneaking up on us. We still have so much to do. But, I can't wait....

Oh wow, your poor kids...I bet they were freaked out!! But what better place to go heal than Disney!!! I am SO SAD I missed the F & W festival this year. I've gone every year for the past...well...long time. Yum. I'm hungry just thinking about it!!
