OK, so we're back from our Thanksgiving Day cruise and I'm still rocking!! Could be from our blown engine and fire onboard. The lights went out and there was black smoke everywhere. We came to a complete stop and the crew were running everywhere. The fire doors were shut to the cabins and the elevators were of course turned off. We did eventually start moving, but we lost time so we didn't get to Castaway until 10:00. Then, we couldn't dock until 1:30 because we didn't have enough engine power with the winds and tide.
Very interesting cruise. This was our 5th
Disney cruise and we found it very different. Could be because there were a lot of big groups of families. I know for us, we usually see the same people all week on the ship, but this time, we saw new people everyday!! And our servers, the worst we've ever had. We skipped dinner twice and didn't go to the character breakfast. My kids really missed our old servers. Especially when they saw all the attention some other kids were getting at other tables. If this was our back to back, I would have requested new servers!!
The water at Castaway was very cold and since we got there late, there was no food on the island. We still enjoyed it, but I heard others complaining.
We still had a good time and we're loking forward to this cruise. The kids were shocked and surprised only realizinf the night before that we were going somewhere because "all their cruise clothes were missing" from their closets. I'm sure they have no idea about this one. We're crazy but I don't think they know how much!!
Oh, how can I forget. My daughter was diagnosed with h1n1 for the 2nd time on the cruise!! She first had it 2 months ago so this was mild, but still
Now, I need a vacation!!
Our docs were waiting for us when we got home. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
