Im crossing my fingers that they open up the Lincoln show for Christmas to absorb a little of the crowds. I dont care if the Walt show is only for 2025, at least open up the old show.

I would love for the Walt show to open up by early December but I am certainly not holding my breath on either show being available.

That would be great. I do not expect the Opera House will open until the 70th anniversary starts in 2025.

I hope so. A popular online blogger said yesterday that Big Thunder is scheduled for another refurb (a "show refurb") in June which makes no sense but whatever.
During the 70th?

Lol

Covid really hurt the parks, just feels like the parks are different now on maintenance

My only hope is Big Thunder at MK is going down...so maybe they are adding new effects to DL as well?

I just checked the calendar on its still down on December 3rd. My family is going the first week of December this year and it would really stink for out favorite ride to be down the entire time. You would think in the busiest month of the year they would have their act together.

Usually refurbs on major attractions do not occur during Holiday Time, Big Thunder opens for your trip.

I am hoping it just keeps popping up on the refurb calendar as they're not sure how long the maintenance is going to take them. Hopefully once they start it will move swiftly and they can open up after a week or two at which time it ill get removed for the calendar. This is what happened with the Railroad it had been listed up to December but then they confirmed the opening date for this week and it was removed from all the following weeks. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

That's so sad, we'll be there with some first timers the first week of December and it's my favorite ride! I'm talking about Big Thunder:sad1:

I got lucky and my Wife and I are going that and the next weekend

Just....terrible timing on this should have been in January

Rumor is it will be going back down in January for another refurb.
the 70th

where all rides are still going down..Small world is going back down as well

No clue why they waited for the busiest time of the year an the 70th for this....I mean I can take a guess and its the stupid choice to redo Splash and HM Q at the same time and now has affected the other refurbs

They are doing it for the 70th, which is not likely to begin until May.

They have to do the refurbs at some time. There is NO real slow time of the year anymore. If they don't do the refurbs then people complain how they don't maintain the attractions. It really is a no win situation.

We have been looking forward to going from December 3rd through the 12th, all year but at this point we are reconsidering. The Big Thunder closure is really disappointing for us and couple that with Haunted Mansion still under construction, it just might be more than we are willing to tolerate. Those two attractions are our favorites and going to Disney now is very expensive. Does anyone know what the current rules are now for Magic Key activation? I know with the old AP you could wait 1 year from the date you purchased the pass to activate it. Anyone know if that is still the case with the Magic Keys in 2024? I've been reading Disney's terms and conditions but I have not seen any reference to it. Is it still 1 year from date of purchase you can activate it?
