Speaking of Candy Cane's when do they start making them? How hard it is to get a VQ?

They are only made on certain days. Last year you had to get there pretty close to rope drop. The line was long. You left your contact info with a CM and were notified later in the day when it was your time to return to purchase.

I'm at D23, but when I get home, I'll look through my pics to see what time we lined up and when we went back to purchase.

Thankyou. They didn't do a VQ for them last year? I thought I read that they did? I have no problem with getting there are rope drop, I usually do anyway.

I'm not sure the exact date, but I think they usually start the first week of Dec. I usually go the second week. Last year, it wasn't very hard to get one then. The line wasn't very long (we went early) and I just gave my phone number and we were on our way. I got the alert later in the day.

That sounds like a perfectly magical Christmas for you and your little one! Took my son at same age to WDW with my folks and it’s a great bunch of memories!

I am looking forward to making the memories! We have been with my in laws twice, but not my parents. Hoping my son is more happy to meet characters, we go at his pace and ride only a few rides. So far his favorite things are the play areas in toon town, watching the Mainstreet vehicles, watching parades, and seeing Mickey from far away.

They had cast members with ipads in front of the store taking your order and contact info. The long line was to give your phone number to a cast member.

Will the Candlelight Processional likely be the weekend of December 7th? I am looking at hotels for the 3rd to the 7th and boy oh boy are the expensive or sold out.

Yes; it's predicted to be the 7th and 8th.

Now I'm really worried about the crowds for our December trip 1-9 December. I chose that week because historically the week after Thanksgiving is usually one of the slowest of the holiday season but now I've been reading that the hotels are nearly sold out for those dates. I'm also worried because Tiana's ride opens only two weeks before, I had hoped it would open earlier than this so the hype would have died down a bit by the time we arrived. I don't want to ride it so the lines for it don't worry me but I am concerned how this will affect the rest of the parks crowds as people come in to experience it. I am really concerned the parks will be slammed and I will have to contend with big crowds. Grrr arrg!

Based on single day ticket prices and passholder blockouts, it does look like the second week of December might be a bit better with crowds. The third week looks even better.

I wish I could too but we are coming from Australia so I have had to lock in our plans ages ago and I can't change anything now. I really hope it is not too crowded as our party of three are all on the autism spectrum so we don't handle huge crowds very well at all. We will have LL every day and we are all happy to hit EE and/or RD so I think our plan will be to tour till it gets too crowded and then go back for a rest to our hotel. I would like to hit the parks again in the night but perhaps we will try and steer clear of fireworks etc and stack some LL's for the evening to ride some things without too long a wait. I know we will have a good time no matter what but I was hoping that the crowds would be lower, guess we will have to wait and see. Fingers crossed.

Thankfully this was just sprung on me, so I am just now in the planning stages. I spoke with my mom and just the fact that the hotel is over $300 less expensive by switching weeks is enough to cement the change.

Hi all! DD and I will be back as soon as her finals are over, Dec 12-15. Flying in late on the 12th and crashing at the Anaheim Hotel, and hitting the parks Fri, Sat, Sun. Feeling out of place because we have been spoiled and have done a lot of DLH lately. But I have university tuition to pay and I can't really justify the price difference to stay onsite and get that extra (and much loved) early entry time.

Ok, @DizMe…it’s finally done! And here is my $1 shirt off eBay, too! I’m busy making lots of Christmas shoulder pals and trying NOT to buy any more spirit jerseys…just got the Mickey candy cane one off eBay…the Christmas treats one is gonna be next I think

Oh, yes, almost forgot…ordered Pooh Christmas phone case off Etsy, along with Chip and Dale Santa earrings! Can you tell I’m excited???
