December 2015 Check-In Thread

Ack- only 3 more sleeps until we leave!! SO much to do still!! I am partially packed but still need to pick up some more stuff and finish packing- which believe it or not is hard to do when your 1 year old walks behind you and literally takes everything out of your suitcases that you just put in a little nervous about the plane/hour long shuttle drive with the baby and how it'll go in the parks, but super excited too!! I heard DL was at capacity today so I'm hoping the crowds die down a little bit lol almost time!!

We leave tomorrow morning and I haven't even started packing yet! Well...unless you count thinking about what I'm going to pack! I'm having trouble with planning for 80 degree temps by day and 50 at night. I believe I will go with my larger suitcase and come prepared for whatever

Hoping the crowds will be lower than kittyskyfish's picture . Since that was CP weekend, I don't think we'll see that kind of action, but who knows?

DizMe, I've been comfortable in a t-shirt/jeans for daytime, then putting on a zip up hoodie for afternoons. Night time I add a packable "down" puffer jacket. They fold up very small into a pouch so it's easy to travel with. Tip: they have these for 39.99 at Costco, Macy's is about $69.99. Well, they have them in my Cleveland area!

It's been a good trip so far. DH was gone Thursday and Friday on business, and on those days I ran around like a goofy nut and got to do everything I wanted without deferring to the spouse. Best morning was starting off with ToT, then boogying over to RSR and doing single rider, which was walk-on for single riders at 9 a.m. My car won! Stopped at Flo's for the Brioche French Toast w/ bananas and caramel, nom! TSMM, Soarin', back to ToT,....ate more, rode more...even did Mickey's Funwheel of Death - the moving cars - and remembered WHY WE NEVER WENT ON THEM AGAIN. ohhhhhh deaaaarrrrrrrr......

Saturday was almost a wash. DH came back sick Friday night and we didn't get to Disneyland park on Saturday until 3:00 p.m. All we got to do was our Fantasmic dining reservation at the River Belle Terrace. After dinner, we asked our waiter if we could defer the F! FPs until Sunday night as DH couldn't make it for the scheduled showing (nausea) and we got it authorized! DH is feeling better this morning (6:00 a.m. Sunday) so we'll get a chance to see it tonight. The food presentation was excellent, btw. More like what you'd expect from Blue Bayou, not the cafeteria-style River Belle Terrace.

The weekday crowds have been manageable, especially outside of "Star Wars - Season of the Force"-Land. Get there early and you can do whatever you want. Just make sure you get FPs for Hyperspace and Star Tours first, as those go the fastest since the new Star Wars effects rendered them extremely popular. I love the new Star Wars scenes in Star Tours!

Got to shower up for another day....

Yikes- the ocd planner in me is cringing haha we leave Tuesday earlier then early but thank goodness are mostly packed now! Although it could have to do with my need for major trip planning and prep or more then likely I'm scared if I wait my toddler won't give me a chance to pack and then we will be in trouble haha if you are still in the parks Wednesday we will see you there this week!!!

So if anyone is in the parks this week we are there dec 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14. The 14th will be our Disney unknown activities day we won from the Diamond Day weekly sweepstakes so if you see us (group of 5 plus 2 more on 10 and 11) feel free to one say hi- I made these for us all to wear (you would recognize us if you saw us lol). I wanted Disney shirts that weren't too wild so I made matching color silhouettes and we each get our own special character from that movie (Not sure why but we also have a blue Frozen themed one but no photos of them all lol). One more full day of prep then time to leave!!

Guys! You MUST try the Raspberry Rose Mickey Macaron at the Jolly Holiday! It's divine! No Rose flavor, this is a raspberry flavored macaron filled with a light raspberry filling and fresh raspberries. Crisp exterior, tender and chewy inside. It's been my breakfast for the last two days.

You guys - this is our 3rd time this year going to DLR, and I'm totally getting nervous! I can't pack until tomorrow when the kids know without it being super obvious. I have so much to get done before we leave... yikes!

My DD is known for being oblivious... When she was turning 8, I managed to pack--IN FRONT OF HER--for an 8-day dream Disneyland vacation I told her we would be taking when she turned 9. I'm talking trying on and buying clothes for the trip and everything, and she still didn't believe we were going to Disneyland when I told her the night before we left. Kind of shocking that she's in gifted classes, lol!

I get the nervousness aspect! I'm fully packed now, have all my ressies saved on my phone, everything is ready to go. And I still feel that I'm-forgetting-something feeling. :-/

We fly down Friday morning. Our goal is to hit all Star Wars things on Friday, when hopefully the crowds are better than Saturday. Saturday we will focus on seeing all the holiday things. We were just there in Aug-Oct, so we are only going to see the new things this time!

I have one of those DD too!! We went to WDW (first Disney trip) when she was 13 and when we we on the airport shuttle at our home airport she started getting curious, so I pointed to our luggage with the Mickey tags for DME -there is a Mickey silhouette on it-and asked her what that was. Figured everyone knows that iconic shape right? But no, she says "a bunny?" After I recovered, I told her where we were going. In her defense, the tag was slightly bent so the ears did look slightly elongated (maybe). Yes, we still tease her a bit, but she more aware now that she's 17!

We are leaving for the airport in 4 hours!! Gotta try to get some sleep but I'm paranoid we forgot to pack something important or missed something to set up for our pets while we are gone lol wish us luck! I will try to do some live reports on my ptr

We had a hard time packing for a toddler too! So different then packing for older kids or adults.

We are waiting for our delayed flight now- hoping this is the first and last glitch in the transportation- although even with delayed air travel it's been ok so far- almost to Disney!
