I can't imagine they will go lower, but I will certainly take a lower rate if it comes along!

So strange that my dates are so similar to some of you guys and they shot up while before me and after me dropped (we're the 5th to the 13th).
I'm happy with my $161 with dollar and $190 with Alamo though.

Hi everyone over the weekends I got a compact car (cheapest car Alamo has) for 8 nights, 9 days for a total of 177. My original was 195.00!!

I will keep checking back to see if I can get more discounts! I'm not leaving until February!

Might be, but even the minivan prices for me are astronomical. It's just something about my dates and times I think. Not too worried about it. I checked last years thread and my Alamo rate dropped at about 3 weeks out. I paid $168 last year for a full size car for 10 days. I have Alamo right now for $190 and Dollar for $161. Either will be fine.

I was able to book a minivan through budget dec 6-19 2 weeks for $437.92 which is $218.96 per week. Got to be happy about that!

Saved $60.00 off my current booking with alamo!

I don't think I will get it that much lower...

Wow! I checked the current rates for our trip 12/13-12/20 for a full size.

We currently have a rate of $126 through Alamo. Rate is now $260!!!

I just used this Alamo contract ID 7014926 and a $30 off a weeky rental for 12/6-13 and I got a 7 passenger minivan for $218.26!!! I am so excited! Best rate yet! Actually I think it's the best rate I have EVER gotten on a minivan!

I'm not having any luck getting a good price. Showing over $600 for a Standard Dec.5th to Dec. 16th. I currently have a reservation for $308 but can't seem to get it any lower than that.

Alamo rates dropped this morning. I had a Standard SUV, Dec. 6 - 13 for $405... dropped to $325. I used the Costco Contract ID (7014627) and Alamo's "one free day" coupon code: AF4469SDU.

When you book, you choose the standard, and you are upgraded to full size.

Don't despair. We went that week last year (13th to the 23rd) and our 10 day rental was around $180 for a Standard with Alamo I think. So deals can be found. I would just keep watching and try the codes mentioned in the thread. Check page three of this thread for the AAA codes for Dollar and Thrifty, and page 6 for Visa codes for Alamo.
