December 2014 anyone?

My family will be at the Beach Club from Dec. 5- Dec. 10. I'm getting excited. Booked some dinners and some special stuff for the kids. Bibbidi Bobbidi for my daughter and breakfast at the castle. Pirate League for my 8 year old son (10 year old is too cool). I'm just hoping to get a fast pass to meet Elsa and Anna. That's all my daughter wants. Anybody ever send their kids on the Pirate Adventure Cruise. Thought it would be cool to have some alone time with the husband.

We are at AKL- Kidani December 27th till January 2nd. First family vacation to WDW, we usually cruise on DCL for family trips. I have not told the grandkids, and am undecided whether to wait until Christmas morning, or tell them on their birthdays (August) and let them help plan. 184 days to go!:wizard:

Have you ever done Keys to the Magic Kingdom Tour?

My wife and I will be spending our fifth Christmas at WDW from Dec 20 to the 29, 2014. We are staying at the All Star Sports since we just need a room to shower and sleep as we spend the days at the parks and in TS restaurants. Also at Christmas time, we spend a lot of time visiting the nicely decorated resorts including Wilderness Lodge and the Grand Floridian. We often do our mid-day break just relaxing in the lobby area of a resort close to a park.
We have the free DDP so we usually eat a breakfast buffet mid morning after a few hours in a park and then a signature dinner late at night. We hope to score all our ADRs Monday morning (our 180 day mark). Narcoosee's, BoG (???), Le Cellier, Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace, Cape May, The Wave of American Flavors, Akershus, Chefs de France, Rose and Crown, Mama Melrose's, 50s Prime Time,
Sci-Fi, Hollywood and Vine, Tusker House and Yak and Yeti are all on our list!
Since we are "seniors" and have some health issues, we don't do the big thrill rides which makes park planning a bit easier. We are planning on riding the 7DMT this year for the first time but that's about as thrilling as our riding gets. But, of course, there is so much more to do at all the parks and then with all the added holiday happenings, we will be on the go from early am to late pm!
Hoping to read others ideas and plans for the Christmas holiday at WDW.:wave2:

December 13th through the 19th. Spur of the moment trip. My bff talked me into joining her family. She emailed me about the trip told me to think about it. Took me less than 2 hours to decide and book it! :woohoo: Disney around Christmas time was on my bucket list! Can't wait to check it off! :lovestruc

We just booked Dec 23-29! YAY!! :cool1: It's our first free dining trip EVER! I'm not sure what to do with all of that food. :goodvibes

This may have been asked already, but has anyone else had trouble getting an ADR for Be Our Guest 180+10 days out when traveling during December? My sister called right on schedule and we also looked online the place is booked from the 9th-20th when we were going to be there. We were told to call back 60 days prior to our departure and then to make an ADR for lunch using FP.
So I guess that is what we will be doing. I talked to a CM yesterday and she said that Be Our Guest is booked solid from December thru the first of the year. WOW! We do have a fairly large party traveling with us the 13th thru the 20th. ( 8 adults, 2 pre-school and 1 infant) Needless to say I am somewhat disappointed, but am hopeful for doing lunch during our stay.
We got all other ADR's and are waiting for the Candlelight Processional Tickets to go on sale.
Only 158 more days until we head to visit the "Mouse" :cheer2:

I managed to get one on my 180 day opening - for the 5 day of our trip literally 1 min after the online booking window opened. An hour later I checked just to "see" and they were all gone for our whole trip.

BUT I have heard of ppl having luck at the 45 day mark (pay off day) and late in the evening the day before you want to go because of the midnight cancellation policy. Good luck! I tried every trick I heard for our 2012 trip and never got one.

Forgive me but how is it that one is able to book before the 180 day window?? You certainly can't do it online...do you have to call and even if you do they ask you for your reservation # so I just don't see how this is done??? I too was not able to get BOG either but did get all the other ones we wanted. Having been lucky enough to get for our last trip we have done it once before but it was high on our list to do again. Oh well- we will try lunch this time.

You get to book for 10 days past your arrival date at 180 days before your arrival date. So, if you have a 10 day trip, you can book for 190 days out.

My wife and I will be there Dec 1-6. Our honeymoon, her first trip there, my fourth. Booked less than 180 days out so had to compromise on some ADRs but happy with what I managed to get and doubt I will try changing anything. We will still have a magical time and I even have a few surprises planned that will make it even more magical. Just wish we could ride up front in the monorails again, oh well maybe someday, maybe never, it's still an awesome place to be.

Good info to know. Thanks!! We booked our first WDW for December 7, 2014 - December 12, 2014. I didn't realize all of the ADVR booking dates, etc. So now I am playing catch up, trying to catch times that pop up and plan so the trip runs smooth. We have DS2, and DD2 (twins), they turn 3 on Dec 15th.... so will be under 3 while at the trip.

Staying at Port Orleans Resort - Riverside.

Would love any tips! We have 4 full day passes. Not sure if we should buy the hoppers. My kids will need naps mid day. I also plan on buying the Very Merry Christmas tickets for one night.

100 days to go!! Can't wait to be in double digits in our countdown :cheer2:

We've secured our priority ADRs--CRT, 'Ohana, H&V (DD is a big Disney Jr. fan), and Candlelight Processional. Right now we have for a Whoopi Goldberg night--have another night reserved as well, if only the rest of the list would be finalized! We wanted to get BOG dinner, but no luck so far. We're going to follow the tips above to try to get one, but happy with what we have. We'll definitely try to FP+ lunch there.

Soo looking forward to surprising DD w/ this trip! We've been planning it since January and I'm so EXCITED to go :)

We'll be staying at the Port Orleans Riverside at around the same time (12/10-12/17). Keep an eye out for the couple that is usually decked out in Bruins or Patriots gear. That will be us.

We saw Whoopi 4yrs ago and it was a really good show. Keep the faith that you will get a BOG ressie. Are you checking out the "December 2014 cancelled ADR" thread? Are you going to youtube the big reveal to your daughter?

Does anyone have any insight for spending 12/24 and 12/25 at WDW? I have been searching all the boards and I can't seem to get any information from anyone. Where do we find the special holiday menus? Which restaurants have them? Does anyone know about the special holiday Mickey's Backyard BBQ? Any rumors or updates about the Candlelight Processional narrators for those two days? I'd love to hear more about Christmas Eve activities... carolers, characters, anything that's going on. We'll be at the WL but can easily travel to other resorts if there are special things to see or do. We've been to WDW over the holidays many times, but usually we don't arrive until after the 25th. I want to experience anything and everything that's special on Christmas Day! :goodvibes

italiantwinsmom, I am the grandmother of Irish twins, 1 and 2. I babysit for my DD frequently. It's pretty  and :crazy2:. I have often wondered if twin-twins would be any easier? We also have DGK 8 and 4, and they seem super easy compared to the 1 and 2 year old terrorists.

We have stayed with and without hoppers. Love the hoppers for my DH and I, if we go alone (yeah, right! that is so never going to happen anymore, not since the grands!) so that we can go to EPCOT for dinners (best food choices in the parks) but with the grands, we just don't find the hoppers worth the extra money. What with naps and pool time, one park a day was plenty! The transportation issue to multiple parks is just kinda much with strollers and all that. Rather spend the money on other things.

I love POR. But when I found out that we could push the stroller RIGHT DANG ON the boat from WL I never wanted to stay anywhere else! :lmao:

MVMCP--loved it, but here are my best tips: don't schedule a sit down meal during the party. We ate at LTT last year and the service was soooo slow, what a waste of party! Missed the parade waiting for the check! Eat at Columbia Harbour House and then snag a good seat in Liberty Square for the early parade. Also, we made the MVMCP day a resort/pool day, got a nice rest and then went over early/post nap (3 pm) using our MBs to miss the crush of folks with MVMCP tickets only. We had to show our MVMCP tickets to CMs, if I remember correctly, but didn't have to leave and come back in or anything.

Have fun! :wave2:

Hey all! We are booked for mid.November but might switch to the first week of December. Is there a FB group for December? I tried searching but nothing came up.

Yes. It's called Magical Disney Christmas 2014. I just joined myself :)

Finally doing the double digit dance! :dance3: It seems like a long time a coming. My sister, myself and one of our nieces will be arriving a few days earlier than the rest of our group.
I think I started the countdown around 400 days, so this feels like we are almost there! :goodvibes
