December 2013: We just booked!

Perfect. So we only purchased 5 (may make it. 6) days of tickets (out of 8). If we didn't do a park that day we could use our MVMCP tickets and it wouldn't use one of our 5 days?

If that's the case I'm thinking we have a late and lazy morning and ill make a late lunch ADR at a MK resort (suggestions?) and then head to MK for 4?

This is what we do. As long as you don't want to enter the park before 4pm that day, the party ticket is all you need.

This is our plan too. I would never want to do another park the day of a MVMCP.
We plan to sleep in that day, hang out at our resort, have a late lunch somewhere and head over to MK.

We've never been to a party but I am seeing that the general consensus is to sleep in and take it easy the day of the party because it goes late?
Makes sense. I wonder what I will plan for that day? Since hanging around in the room all day doesn't sound appealing. I think maybe I'll make fun lunch plans, and look for something low key to do

We like to do a resort tour to see decorations.

We sleep in a little, eat late, and explore the resort we stay in. This is easy to do when stay deluxe. AKL take the tour, or just hang out taking pictures of the animals, etc. Maybe a day at the pool? Not sure how that works in Dec though. lol

We'll be at Wilderness Lodge Villas too so maybe I will see about that tour of the resort they give? And now I am thinking a late breakfast at Ohana because we always go for dinner but ds has been asking for a breakfast there for a few years!

What are all your ADR dates?
Mine is June 16th. I'm just not sure what I'll want at all. Since we're staying at VWL I think we'll want at least one lunch at Whispering Canyon. And ds has been begging for an Ohana breakfast and to go back to HDDR. And then there is the Candlelight Processional package to consider.
Thats quite a few expensive meals and I don't even know if we are going to use the DDP this trip so I guess I need to come up with a plan. Good thing I LOVE Disney planning

I, too, can now start working on our Dec 21-31st plans. Since everything just about is planned for our July 2-11 trip, the December park hours give me the chance to start planning trip 2 for this year. Just remember that the hours will change significantly over the next few months-- Dec 2012 they seemed to change daily when we were there. Dec ADRs for us will begin June 22nd but they are always tricky since the Candlelight Processional is a must and that info will be a while in coming. Also, FastPass + will probably be a factor in our December planning. Anyway is there an official December, 2013 thread to join????

June 9th! We sort of know where we want to eat, now with the hours out we can plan which days. Getting so excited!

Thank you!!!! we just booked Monday for the week of Christmas. We will be arriving in Orlando on Dec 20th and Checking in on the 21st, unless I bump it up a day closer to time!! We leave on Dec 27th.

It's our first Christmas day away from home so this will be new to us and we have never been to Disney during the holiday season so that will be exciting too!!

I'm still kind if in shock that this is happening!!

Just changed our reservation this morning from Saratoga Springs to Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village! I didn't have a problem with SSR but I really wanted that 3rd bathroom in the villa since there will be at least 5 of us!

Looks like there was a lot of DVC availability that week, (Dec 15-21) I thought for a split second about Bay Lake Towers, but I didn't want to borrow any more points from next year, so we went with a Savannah View at AKL.

I think your week was pretty booked up for everything, but I had practically my pick of all of the resorts this morning at 7 months out.

I've got to admit the fastpass plus has me concerned. I usually just roll with whatever is thrown our way for vacation planning but I am REALLY hoping if they plan to use this system during the high crowd times in December that they give people plenty of notice to plan and prepare for it

I think regular FP will still be there this Dec too, so that will help I think.

Hello, my fiance and I are planning for December as well! We became engaged at the World and nothing makes more sense to us than spending our honeymoon there too. We've always gone during the holidays because the crowds are so low and the weather is MUCH more bearable. We're pulling for 6 night/7 day stay at a deluxe studio at Kidani Village, SO EXCITED!
