December 2013: We just booked!

No they knew about all the other trips but one. We surprised them with a trip about 4 years ago but that's the only one. That one went off wonderfully! So we're hoping for the same this time.
One of the main reasons I am letting them know a week early is also so that when I speak to the teachers and get their homework etc (and there won't be much right before break) it's just more people I have to count on not to spill the beans. DD has 4 teachers, DS will have 2, so the odds of one of them letting it slip are high. So I'll tell the teachers a week ahead of time after the kids know.
But if they are already starting the "Let's go to Disney!" campaign this is going to be a loooonnnnggggg 8 months

ETA) And the dreams are just too strange. I even tried to think if they could have overheard something but I tried to book while they were at school. I think they just honestly both decided they want to go back and had a dream about it. So weird.

I think that it is nice that you are telling them ahead of time. I can imagine that they want to tell their friends and do a little planning of their own.

I was able to rent from a disboards member on the DVC rent/trade board. Wonderful renters and now we're all set!!

So it's official. Wilderness Lodge Studio for 7 nights before Christmas!! How in the world am I going to keep this a secret for so long?

Funny that you did a split stay with BWV last September. That was our second choice after WL. We've stayed at BWV once before and the location is outstanding. We loved the Boardwalk too. But WL just screams Christmas trip doesn't it?
I'm excited to try somewhere new.

It's 49 days until my June Disney vacation and I am already beginning to plan for December 2013! Does anyone know if there's an "official" page yet to join?

Going the first week of December. I was told the Mickey Christmas party was going to be that week but they dont have a date set. Anyone else planning on going to that even though it is a separate price?

We are planning on MVMCP and will also be there the first week of December. I am waiting for park hours so I can figure out how to fit everything in we want to do!

We'll definitely be doing MVMCP and the Candlelight Processional. I have always wanted to go during the holidays so I am making sure to see all the extras while we are there.
I want to go over to Universal for a night and 2 park days as well but the cost is pretty outrageous. Even if we renew our annual passes the hotel alone for one night is almost $400. It would be the Saturday before Christmas so it will be very busy and I don't want to stay offisite and not have Front of the Line access. It would be great to see all of Universals Christmas stuff but I just don't know that I want to spend an extra $1000 for one night and two days.

We are definitely doing MVMCP and can't wait! It will be our first time since our last trip was Thansgiving Week 2011 and they don't hold it. Luckily we were able to do CP and look forward to it again.

I just looked up when MVMCP tickets went on sale in 2012. It was May 1st! So I thought I would mention it since that's pretty soon if they release them the same time this year.
I don't know that it's mandatory to get them way ahead of time, but if there's a certain date you have to have you might want to buy early.
I know for us I'd far prefer to go to the one the night after we get there than later in the week. Still trying to decide if the Sunday or the Tuesday would be better crowd wise though. I think since we are going so late in the month (14th to the 21st) it's likely that the party will be busy no matter what.

We will be there the same time as both of you! Looking at past years I would guess the party will be held on Sundays, Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays. We are looking at going Tuesday, the 17th since the last few parties tend to get busier and busier. Hoping to avoid massive crowds.

The CP is held every night beginning the day after Thanksgiving and I don't know when it ends. Each Narrator does 3 days of shows with 3 show times each day.

I think Tuesday sounds best too. I am debating Sunday though because we will have just gotten there on Saturday and it will be a lovely way to kick off the trip. I find by the end of the week the *newness* of being at Disney has worn off if that makes any sense.

Just booked last week for December 6-11th! I've been saving since last September, though. Feels like I've been broke forever, but it's *SO* worth it!


My little sister...well, she's going to be celebrating her 43rd birthday in WDW so I guess she's not so little and I'm older than dirt...is going with me. It's our every two years Sisters Trip to WDW!

Count us in - we'll be there November 30 through Dec 7. We pushed our trip ahead from Thanksgiving week and we're so happy about it. We were there the same week in 2010 and even though it was FREEZING cold, it was great crowd-wise and the holiday stuff was amazing! Can't wait to go back again to it.

Not sure if we're doing a MVMCP. We did it last time and thought the parade was worth the price of admission, but not sure if we should do it again. Osborne Lights is a must-do every night though.

and southwest releases their new dates around May 6th-- so I will be on Disney watch that first week of May.

I will wait to arrive to get our party tickets. I dont want to go if it rains nor do i want to attend a sold out party.

We will be arriving on a Tuesday so I'm thinking Hollywood Studios that night to kick off our vacation with Fantasmic. Wednesday will most likely be our full day at MK and then either Thursday or Friday for MVMCP... can't decide. I know Friday would be busier but I hate to do two MK days back to back.. that would be it for our trip, no more MK and since it's my dad's first time I don't want him to get bored.
