**December 2012 Roll Call** Holidays, FLE Opening & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

Went through the Disney box today with the kids to take inventory That always makes us excited!!! I need to buckle down and list all of the hundreds of projects I need to get done and start doing them!! Anyone else have "disney crafts" to do??

I need to work on our countdown calendar. I start at 100 days. Last time I used the Home Depot Mickey head paint chips, but since those are gone (RIP ), I am going to print out about 80 pictures of our last trip, and then 20 stock pictures from the Internet of Disney at Christmas time. I'm going to sandwich the photos between two pieces of poster board and have the kids open a door, advent calendar-style, each day.

I'm going to use the same autograph book that we used last time, if I can find it! It's just an altered palm-sized notebook. I tear out the pages when I scrapbook and put it on each character's page with their pictures and embellishments. I could start looking for stickers now, with the Michaels coupon I got today. I've booked three character meals, so I at least know I will see those characters!

This will happily be our 4th Christmas in Disney, and probably our last as a family of 5, since our DD just graduated from college and probably won't be travelling with us anymore -at least until she has a family of her own to take. We are going to cherish this last family trip!!

My goal from now until check in is to procure a 30% pin for AoALM. We are currently at POP with a 30% pin and would live to be on the other side of the lake. My DD would be in heaven with all the Little Mermaid stuff.

So I decided that even though we have months and months before our December trip I would price out the flight tickets again yesterday. To no surprise they are still sitting at $1150 for the four of us from DTW to MCO. I decided to check the Tuesday as well (our ressie starts on Monday) and the total is $774

ACCCKKKK !!! That is a big difference! We always fly out on Saturday but had to switch to the Monday this trip to get the FD for Dec 10-13. Flying out on a Tuesday would be an even bigger stretch but darn if I am not tempted.

So tomorrow is supposedly the day to call for CP packages! Do I have to say anything special to make sure I get the right type of reservation? Do I say Candlelight Processional when it asks for the name of restaurant?

Nothing really special. When they finally pick up, just say I'd like to book a Candlelight Processional/dining combo for xxx at yyy for the zzz show. They'll look and see what's the closest time and then you'll work on alternatives (day/time/show).

Speaking of the CP... Did anyone else wake up and hear the clock from 24 going off in the back of their head, with a Keifer Sutherland voice over?

"The following takes place June 26th between 6am and 10am. Events happen in real time." BEEP beep BEEP beep BEEP beep...

Christmas?!?! Are we doing that this year? I'm pretty sure it's been superseded by my Disney trip.

I already told my SIL that Christmas is at her house this year, since I'm not doing a tree and MIL will be on the trip with us. So I'm off the hook for most of it. Just need to do my shopping before the trip.

I guess I haven't checked in yet! I made the rest of our dining reservations this morning (other than the one for Jan. 1 - those aren't open online yet), so I'm all official now. We'll be jumping around from hotel to hotel, so that will be a new experience for us. We decided in 2010 that we wanted to make Disney Christmas a bi-annual event, so it is time again!

Arrival - Dec. 15 - staying at Summer Bay
Moving to Wilderness Lodge on Dec. 22
Moving to Royal Pacific for just one night on Dec. 26
Moving to Art of Animation on Dec. 27, where we will stay until Jan. 2

I noticed it hates my email - but I have a screen name that allows me to login a lot easier. When I try with my email it says I have too many accounts associated with it (DMR, Disney Store, DMC, DVC etc)

This was the problem! Thank you! Granted, it took me a few days to figure out my screen name ... but once I did that, and reset my password, I am now able to log in. Sheesh - I wrote it down this time!!!!

Question for anyone who has traveled to WDW during someone's birthday - not trying to start ethical debates here either, I'm just curious. Do you add the "celebration" option to your dining reservation for just the day of the event, or for other meals during that stay? We always travel in December during my youngest daughter's birthday. This year she's turning 6 while we are there. Her actual birthday falls during HS day, and we'll be at 50's prime time. I have already added that it's her birthday to that reservation (for anyone who doesn't know - this means they'll bring out a cupcake or something and sing Happy Birthday).

Anyway, two days later, on our last day, we will be at Chef Mickey's. They do a cute bday celebration there (we were there on her bday last December), but it's two days after the fact. Would you still add it to the reservation? I know I've seen some people on these boards talking about how if it's not the day of their bday, you're doing something wrong.
