Our window opens up this weekend. We still have to figure out what parks we are going to on what days. I just showed DH the EMH days for the parks. We still have some time yet and won't be getting together with my mom and brother until maybe July or August to figure everything out.

As it is, my mom and brother are not used to having to make ADR's so far in advance. They are used to the old way and deciding that day what they are going to eat. I've been telling them that a lot has changed since 1993.

This is my husband!! We went last December, but only ate CS. Before that, his last trip was 1999. Yes dear, I know you just walked up to restaurants and got a seat. Times are different now!!!! I dont think he quite believes me, but he did put in his 2 cents on which restaurants he wants.

I am ready to make my ADR's, as in, I know where I want to eat, however, I have a question:

BIL, SIL, and DN are supposed to be joining us on our trip for at least part of our stay. DN was just born three weeks ago, so trying to get BIL and SIL to talk to me about what their plans are six months in the future is just not happening.

Regardless, I have to make ADRs in two weeks, so I suppose it is better to make a reservation for too many people than for too few?

As BDL stated, you need to make sure and make an ADR for the right amount of people. Some of the most popular places require a credit card to guarantee the reservation and will charge $10 a person if you don't show up, or not every one shows up. You have 24 hours to cancel the reservation. So tell them to get on the ball and decide.

I've been trying to explain that to my 66 year old mom and 38 year old brother. She couldn't understand how this is done. I explained that we will plan the park days first then figure out which TS to do based on that.

I love the idea that we can now call or go online and make ADR's. I also love being able to see the menu from allears.net and now from Disney's site. Helps with the planning.

DH already knows that he owes me Rose and Crown this trip since we didn't do it 6 years ago.

We are checking in to the campsites @ FW on 12/23!!!

We usually make this trip in Oct. for F&W -- first Christmas experience, though I have come for NYE in the MK as a teen... Can't wait to share it with my family! Here's to hoping for a magical time, despite the anticipated crowds!

Speaking of ADRs we have no idea where we would like to eat and I'm stressing this is the first time I have had trouble picking some. Any suggestions for resturants with picky eaters(DH and DD)???

Check out the menus on allears.net. That way you get a sense of what each restaurant has to offer. When you say picky, what exactly do you mean? What about their favorites types of food? That might help us in making suggestions.

If I go ahead and make the ADR's assuming that they will be there, but then they decide they will not, do I have to completely cancel that ADR, or can I just call and adjust the number in our party?

Baby is waking up every 1-3 hours at this point, so I cannot exactly push Disney on them right now. MIL and I are surprised that they said they would go at all, frankly. Of course, they said that BEFORE baby arrived and rocked their world.

When making the ADR do we only count the people that are ordering an entree or people sitting at the table? My DS will only be 15 months so no entree but needs space...I realize it's only a $10 difference if we don't make it but every little bit counts!

You count the people in your party, so they know how big a table you will need. I am going to count my niece, who will only be 6 mos. old, even though she will be in a high chair.

No. As long as you honor the reservation, then there will be no charge to your credit card.

DD will only eat chicken nuggets, pepperoni pizza, grapes, apples, waffles, pancakes, and pouches. We are hoping that will change.

DH hates onions, tomatoes, and peppers. He will eat things like spaghetti just no tomato chunks or onion pieces he can see. His favorite types of food are Amercian, Italian, and Steaks.

I have almost the same problem. I'm the only adventurous eater in my family.
We are planning on doing Le Cellier, Mama Melrose, LTT, CRT and some buffets....Chef Mickeys and 1900 Park Fare. (and we have one day without ADR's at all so we will have all CS at EPCOT one day)
The only one out of those that I'm really worried about is Le Cellier. BUT...it's my vacation too so they all have to deal.
Another thing is at home we generally have one big(ish) meal a day...I'm sure they will all be fine with the CS lunches etc...plus they are snackers too...so
I'm positive they won't starve to death.

Sounds to me like your daughter will be eating exclusively at Crystal Palace and your husband exclusively Italy and Canada at EPCOT.

I would encourage you if you know that the other guest aren't going to make the ADR with you that you do call to let them know your numbers are less than expected so that they can free up that space for other guest who are making ADR's as well.

The kids menu will accommodate the chicken nugget fan. I think that your DH should stick to the Italian restaurants or steak houses. For instance, R&C has a lovely steak on the menu. In MK, DHS and Epcot there are Italian restaurants. In any case, if there are specific things that your family dislikes, discuss it with the server at your restaurant. Disney is very good.

We will be arriving on Dec 29 and staying until Jan 5. Have a villa rented in Windsor Hills. First time staying offsite. I know, worst time to go with the crowds. I want my granddaughter (age 8) to experience Disney during the holidays. It is sooo magical. There is 10 of us, myself, DH, DD and her family and friends and family. We are driving from Wilkes Barre, Pa and taking the autotrain home. First time on train also.

Sorry I'm on my phone and it isn't cooperating with me to cut out some of your post. I was just wondering what the autotrain is? Sounds cool like the auto ferries?? Would love to hear more about that as I live in NH!
