I keep hearing that R&C is not good but honestly we love it! DD and her family had dinner there twice on their last trip. It is a Must Do for us now

We'll give it a shot. I looked at their menu a while ago and saw that they had bangers and mash, which DH and I love.

How did I not know that this thread existed? We're planning our first Christmas trip!!! We're taking our camper from NJ to FL. Are we insane? Stopping in SC for a night, and arriving in Orlando on 12/23. So I guess for the purposes of this thread, our dates are 12/23-12/30.

Our trip will be me, dh, and our two daughters. They'll be 5 and 3 for the trip. We're surprising them, because they have no concept of time. I already have to listen to them say "when can we go to Disney World" about 5 times a week, I can't imagine if they actually knew we were going. We're not going to tell them a thing. I'm going to videotape them in the backseat while we're driving into the park, and I'll see their reactions as they realize we're there!!!

I'm bummed that HDDR will be closed. That's our must-do TS meal. We were disappointed with the luau before, so I'm not sure what we'll replace it with. Biergarten is a must for us. We're doing BBB for both girls, so we'll probably do CRT on that day. I'm so excited for this trip, and dh thinks I'm crazy for talking about it all the time. He loves Disney too, but not nearly as much as me!

Sorry I'm on my phone and it isn't cooperating with me to cut out some of your post. I was just wondering what the autotrain is? Sounds cool like the auto ferries?? Would love to hear more about that as I live in NH!

The autotrain leaves out of Sanford and takes you to Lorton, Va. I don't know if that will help you living in NH. Maybe they have one closer to your location. After pricing airfare and car rental, it is our best option. For 6 of us and our truck the prices is $660.00. Only $110.00/person. That includes dinner and breakfast on the train. It leaves Sanford at 4PM and arrives in VA at 7:30AM. I have read quite a lot of good reviews. We'll see how it goes.

I would encourage you if you know that the other guest aren't going to make the ADR with you that you do call to let them know your numbers are less than expected so that they can free up that space for other guest who are making ADR's as well.

Do they (Disney) allow you to alter your ADR to reduce the amount of people, without having to cancel and make a new ADR? I know if you try to increase the amount of people to your ADR, you have to cancel your current ADR and then hope you can get a new ADR (for the same time and place).

The question I was answering was someone wasn't sure if the people traveling with them, will make it to dinner or not. Many people are concerned with the new cc guarantee that their cc will be charged if the correct number of people don't show up for the ADR. This was merely to let them know, they can make an ADR for 5 and if 3 only show up, they won't be charged $20 for the 2 people that couldn't make it.

I agree you should let them know if less are coming, but if it means possibly canceling and losing my ADR, then I'll just leave it as is.

I had to cancel my Christmas trip to the mouse because it looked like all offers of any deal were going to end before our arrival day and we could not push it up any more...

so Christmas withthe Mouse turned into THANKSGIVING WITH THE MOUSE because I had a PIN ATTACHED TO MY NAME THAT I WOULD ACTUALLY UE FOR FREE DINING!!!!!

I was so excited...

So now I have to go start watching info popping up on the November thread!

I agree you should let them know if less are coming, but if it means possibly canceling and losing my ADR, then I'll just leave it as is.

I don't know for sure about the having to rebook if you drop your numbers... I would call and see and yes if they say you do I would just leave it as well.

I have almost the same problem. I'm the only adventurous eater in my family.
We are planning on doing Le Cellier, Mama Melrose, LTT, CRT and some buffets....Chef Mickeys and 1900 Park Fare. (and we have one day without ADR's at all so we will have all CS at EPCOT one day)
The only one out of those that I'm really worried about is Le Cellier. BUT...it's my vacation too so they all have to deal.
Another thing is at home we generally have one big(ish) meal a day...I'm sure they will all be fine with the CS lunches etc...plus they are snackers too...so
I'm positive they won't starve to death.

I would not call myself an adventurous eater but I can normally always find something I like. I only have to make sure what I eat isn't spicy, thats easy enough.

Sounds to me like your daughter will be eating exclusively at Crystal Palace and your husband exclusively Italy and Canada at EPCOT.

Thanks for all the suggestions. We decided not to base any meals on DD eating habits because we are hoping we can get her to eat more between now and then. I don't feel as lost now. I really think my mommy brain had just hit overload mode and it couldnt process.

Hopefully Southwest sticks to this date...Originally It was supposed to be a few weeks ago! Update on my planning... haven't done anything else really. I'm starting to get antsy thinking POP is a wrong choice and I should try another hotel perhaps S/D. I looked into renting DVC points for AKL or BWV and both are sold out.

I'm with you on this one. My flights should be booked already. Hopefully there are some decent travel times for us. They've already eliminated the direct flight from our airport. All the current flights to MCO from our airport have layovers; and some don't give you very much time to change flights.

Yes, I've been a fan (or Duranie) for 28 years now. Simon has always been my favorite I got Simon's pix from their official web site. They had a few avatar pictures of the guys to use.
