we went last year dec 4th -11th and we had great weather , hoping for the same this year!!

I'm a bit confused about the Very Merry Christmas Party, can someon clear it up for me? I thought it was just the name of the Christmas parade, is it not? Is it at Magic Kingdom? Is there an additional cost besides park admission?

No, it's an after hours party that includes fireworks, shows, special character meets and the parade. You can't see the Chrsitmas parade in Nov or early Dec without attending the party. It's around $60 per person. Once the last party is held (12/21 this year) they start doing that parade in the park during regular park hours.

There used to be a little stage show during the Christmas party. It was toward the back of tomorrowland IIRC. I don't see that it is still part of the party. Does anyone know?

So we are going down December 17th through the 22nd, but we are doing Magic Kingdom Thursday and Friday the 20th and the 21st. Will be able to see te parade or have to pay the extra? Ones it matter if we are staying at a Disney resort? This s our first Christmas trip and a surprise for our girls I wanna make it the best I can!

If you want to see the Christmas parade, you will have to buy tickets to the party. It won't show during regular park hours until 12/22. Doesn't matter if you are staying at a Disney resort.

Do you buy them down there or Is it better to do it before going down?

Since that's the final week of parties, any one of them can sell out. If you're interested in going, you will want to buy them as soon as you are certain. They are non-refundable, so you'll want to be sure.

Thank you so much I'll buy them as soon as possible.

I know we've discussed this before, but anyone else getting excited to make their ADR's? Next week is when I can start making mine. :cool1:

Me!Me!! Im excited and sooooo nervous since I've never done it before..I was playing around with the site today to see how it works. I guess once you've finished with a restaurant you just go on to the next one?
Also, I've noticed from others schedules that there is a fair amount of table service meals scheduled. How do y'alls kids do at these kind of restaurants? Is the service pretty fast considering there's a lot of kids? My DD isn't the most patient :littleangel:and I'm guessing that there will be less patience while we're at DW :scratchin

I am getting really excited. Trying to finalize what we'd like to do for next week! :woohoo:

I haven't booked ADR's really either. Just one, spur of the moment during an Orlando trip last year. I am planning no more than 1 table service per day....and a few days none. My daughter is not the best in restaraunts but, I really feel like if I don't change up the counter service I will get really sick of it quickly.

Thought of something tonight, I may place an order at Walmart.com about 2 weeks prior to my trip and have it shipped directly to the hotel. The things I would include in the order are cases or water, juice, shampoo, conditioner, etc... heavy things. With walmart's "HomeFree" program if you spend $45 on Home goods it ships free so it's kind of a no brainer for me. Won't have to pack that stuff.

Has anyone done something like this??

I am ready to make my ADR's, as in, I know where I want to eat, however, I have a question:

BIL, SIL, and DN are supposed to be joining us on our trip for at least part of our stay. DN was just born three weeks ago, so trying to get BIL and SIL to talk to me about what their plans are six months in the future is just not happening. :rotfl:

Regardless, I have to make ADRs in two weeks, so I suppose it is better to make a reservation for too many people than for too few?

Not that way but we always ship a flat rate box of liquid type things to the resort. My DD started shipping a box years ago when she could send it for free with a friend but that was just for convenience. I started sending a box when the airlines were restricting liquids. I was taking my DGD about a week after the new regulations were put into place and felt this would be the easiest way. I was traveling with a four YO ;) WE have done it ever since. Just call and confirm it made it there.

Just make sure that the number you give is the number that shows up. If you are light on the people, depending on the resaurant, they could whack your credit card if you don't adjust your res with enough advanced notice.

I am. I can start booking a week from this coming Sunday. And I STILL haven't gotten definitive answers from the in-laws....

Tell them that they need to get on the stick or get off the bus. I had to do this with my niece and nephew when they could not decide when they were going to join us. Yea or Nay.............but decide.

That sounds like a great idea! How would you do the "ship to" line of the order?
Would you just put your name? would you add c/o the resort?

Our window opens up this weekend. We still have to figure out what parks we are going to on what days. I just showed DH the EMH days for the parks. We still have some time yet and won't be getting together with my mom and brother until maybe July or August to figure everything out.

As it is, my mom and brother are not used to having to make ADR's so far in advance. They are used to the old way and deciding that day what they are going to eat. I've been telling them that a lot has changed since 1993.
