So all the people who said I was crazy for pre-buying our tickets 2 weeks ago... look who's laughing now :rotfl: (Not DIS board members, more family & co-workers). And I'd like to add that I purchased ours through Undercover Tourist and it was a very smooth, quick transaction. I know they are well spoken of here on the boards but I was a little hesitant just knowing it wasn't coming from a "DISNEY" source. But, I would completely recommend them to anyone now. I had my tickets within 3 days and they are the real Disney tickets I've always had my whole life (paper version). Remember, Undercover Tourist tickets are free shipping and tax is already included in the advertised price!! I did find other places to get them cheaper, then the shipping charge and tax ended up being more!

Cybrkitn- thanks for telling me about Duran Duran!! My aunt is a little bit older than me and she is a fan, I think I just missed the Duran Duran era!

You're welcome. I also miss that era as well.

I saw that yesterday and had to call my mom to let her know. When we were planning this, I told her that we would need to book no later than May to lock in the current prices. Last year, the prices went up in June and I didn't want to take any chances of that happening to us this time. Now she is very happy that we booked in early May :cool1:

Would you happen to know what happens if you have a package booked?..

We have put down our deposit but nothing more yet so will they change the package price they quoted me?

Figured the price increase was coming this weekend so changed my room only to a package on Thursday to beat the rush. :thumbsup2 After much deliberation and many spreadsheets on whether to do the DDP or not. The CM asked me three times if I wanted tickets to MVMCP. I kept saying not sure if we are going yet, I will order them if we decide to. Then she wanted to know why I didnt have my flight booked yet if I knew we were flying. So I explained that SW wouldnt have flights released until Monday. She was nice, just kind of a strange conversation. Glad when I got my confirmation and it was all correct. :)

Fortunately we bought our park tickets last month, and my girlfriend is buying hers today to get in before the price raise. Now I'm just waiting on Southwest.

Does anybody know what time Southwest usually releases their flights? I've seen the announcements that its going to be Monday, and I'll be staying up late to make my ADRs anyways (online dining opens at 2a Hawaiian Standard) ... is it at midnight? Or 8a? E.S.T.? Or Pacific?

My family and friends will be invading Disney December 10th-18th. When we all arrive there will be 16 of us. Talk about a dining reservation nightmare:scared1:
I'm looking forward to seeing Disney through the eyes of my kids. We'll have some newbies in the group, as well as some seasoned vets:cool1: I can't wait to see the Christmas decorations.:santa: I just wish December would come a little earlier this year:hourglass

Hi everyone!

Thanks for the replies about special dining to celebrate DS's birthday. I gave him all the options and he chose Teppan Edo, but breakfast at the Polynesian was a close runner up -- he's a huge Stitch fan.

Thumper Man -- I'm very excited about my ADR, but I have to wait another month to make mine...July 3rd is my date. I have them all planned out though :)

HoustonMama -- My son has shown remarkable patience while in the TS restaurants. They usually have some activities to do on the kids placemats, and the service is quite speedy. We always make a big deal out of his choosing his meals, he looks over the kids meals on the paper placemats and circles his choices.

JLa01844 -- Great idea to order ahead from Walmart. One thing I'm doing this time that I didn't last time is bringing a water bottle that seals nicely. It was great to have the mugs, but whenever I packed them they leaked, so I'll bring a big 20oz water container from home to fill before we leave for the parks each day.

DAwn -- Yes, I would make reservations to include your BIL and SIL, you can always reduce your numbers later, but it can be harder to add.

Cybrkitn -- Last trip I was traveling with people who didn't 'get it' about ADR's too...I went ahead and made some reservations as a safety net, and then just canceled the ones we ended up deciding differently on.

RooRach0906 -- If you have picky eaters then maybe some of the buffet restaurants would suit them...we like Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Hollywood and Vine and the Liberty Tree Tavern which is family style, but offers variety in a basic kind of way.

Disneynewb -- I've been in early December and in April and I didn't find the lines any worse at all during EMH. The only night I found it a bit crazy was during MVMCP, there was a lot of shoving and bumping going on that night -- we solved that by moving away from the crowds -- wherever it was busiest, we went in the other direction.

MPBest-- Yes, matching shirts are a great idea! That gives me a project to work on :upsidedow

Fallenangel727 -- Good luck with your DH's job interviews and the trip!

Oh, and I'm thinking of extending our magic...if I fly a day earlier and return a day later I save money on flights, and then I can use that to book 2 extra nights :) Better than paying more for a shorter stay, right? I'll have to call to change that. :cheer2:

Sounds good to me! :goodvibes

Airtran released their flights today!!! :woohoo: Makes up for me missing out on the ticket deadline.

I could have done without seeing that. I'll just have to assume they aren't done with those numbers yet....... $428 each way would definitely be a deal killer for us..........:scared1:

We are pretty sure it is a typo, because Kayak, Orbitz and others have them at $198 roundtrip for Airtran.

FYI

I know in the past people were able to get a better price for AirTran flights going thru Disney CRO than what was being offered on the AirTran site.

I would call Disney and price it out if it were me.

Quick question for anyone that has been at Christmas time... Do the Ozbourne Lights get turned off at park closing? On the night I have scheduled to go to DS, Fantasmic is scheduled for 6:30 and the park closes at 7:00. Would we have time to run over and see the lights before we get kicked out of the park?

I am having a major panic attack, because our 180 days is tomorrow and I have not finalized my plan!!! I have also read that ADRs at Epcot are almost impossible for this time since Disney is holding back on reservations until their CP plan is in place. Anyone heard about this?

Just a heads up, my dad called yesterday about HDDR and was told it would be open in December.

They generally don't chase you out of the park until an hour after closing. We went to the 8:00 fantastmic last year on a 9:00 close, and were still able to go see the lights after the show. And as a bonus, there was almost no one there!

Just bought our park tickets yesterday through UT.

Waiting for Wednesday morning at 6am to wake up and start the dining reservations.

Honeymoon here we come!
