December 2011 Code Watch!

Count us in too. Dec.8th-14th. Got a email from Disney today hoped it was a great pin (free dining or % off) only to find it was just a code that was not even any savings!!!! The CM I spoke with today said they might announce discounts in mid July or August. Have they done this is the past? and what were they????

Offers/discounts for fall & early winter have generally come out mid-July or August. They have changed things so much this year, it's no telling what they may be. It could be just a % off room offer or FD or anything really.

We will go sometime during the first 2 weeks of Dec. and I haven't booked anything. I'm waiting for a room code.

Called to modify my Dec ressie and make it a split stay ending at WL. No Pin code, was only able to get a AAA discount of 10%....took it and will keep my fingers crossed, as its more than I want to spend. For some reason I thought AAA at a deluxe was more than 10%? :confused3

I now have 3 reservations for my 9 night stay, AAA 1st night at POFQ, a pin the next 6 nights and then AAA for the last two. I really wish I had known what my final touring plan was going to be when my pin was active back in Feb :rolleyes1 Oh well.....

CM claimed there were no PINs out now...which we know isn't true, but whatever....

Okay I think I am more stressed now than before I started reading the posts.

We were last in Disneyworld the 1st week of December 2009, which was pop warner week, and we had free dining.

I am planning a trip for 19 people for the 1st week of December 2011, many of whom have never been before and some of whom are not going to be able to commit to going unless we get a free dining offer.

Assuming there is no free dining that 1st week of December (I am STILL hoping) what is the cheapest place to get 5 or 6 day park hoppers and where is the cheapest place to stay (we WILL stay off property if we can get a good deal and there is no free dining at Disney).

Thanks for the help - I want everyone to have fun and not stress about the cost.
I feel the same way. No trip for us without a good deal, free dining would be the best. So now I don't know if I should go ahead and move my trip or wait and risk losing out on getting good dining reservations. ***Sigh***

So I see that Pop Warner is Dec 3-10. We are considering early December, if free dining is offered. We've always done end of October/beginning of November or late January/early February. Will I notice a change from the Pop groups? I saw one post that said it's most noticeable at the All Star Hotels, not at the parks. Is this true? We like to stay at Pop. My concern is availability, if the All Stars are full of Pop groups.

and it'a a 30% resort off rate code for all levels of resorts. Other posters are reporting a type of lotto resort rate where you can pick $67/night or $91/night rate for a value. The $67 rate is highly restrictive.

Anyway, the point being that I don't think we are going to see free dining for later in the year. I wish it was so (I want it too), but the early indicators are saying no more. There have been rumors for months that Disney planned on cutting back from free dining for later in the year and so far it seems to be true. July will tell the tail; I believe.

Sorry to insert myself but where are you getting these e-mails from with the PIN's and what are they? We're thinking about going in december and would like to get in on it as well if possible.

Pin Codes can come from a variety of sources within Disney. Two ways to get a Pin Code that I know of are saving a vacation on their web site and/or having an account and clicking the option to receive promotional material from Disney. But there is no garauntee that you will receive one. There have been DISers that have gone several times and have never received a Pin Code.

I didn't know about them until I read it here on the DISboards. I then called Disney to find out if we had one attached to our name. We had a Pin Code, but it was after we had just come back from our Disney trip, so we couldn't use it.

My mind is still not working yet this morning so forgive me if this sounds like a dumb question.

With the 30% discount, is that based on each night or the overall stay? 30% discount doesn't sound too bad to me and is a lot better than the Pin Code I got for the $67/night which has way too many restrictions attached to it.

and it's not a discount for a package. My pincode expires July 1. I'm thinking this means that Disney may go public with a code after that date. This is not to say that this will be the special discount, either. Right now, I think Disney is testing the market to see which pincode is getting the best response and then something will go public; I hope for all.

I really swore off Disney without getting a free dining offer, but if there's nothing better being offered then I want to jump on this band wagon now and lock in. I have no real restrictions with this code; so, I can always change it if something better comes along.

I will mention that I called to ask about any pincodes and that's how I found out about this one. I called when I heard the other pincode came out that's more lotto style and more restrictive which I don't like. I got lucky that way. I haven't received a Disney Destination e-mail in a long while; so, this is why I called this time.

Good luck to all.

Last summer, we booked in August for December because that is when the free dining code came out. So, hang in there. It may or may not happen, but never give up. pixiedust:

They've had free dining at the end of the year for the last three years. Unfortunately, that's as far back as they show on Mousesavers.com, so hard to tell if it was strictly economy-related or if they usually do the free dining then. I'm keeping my fingers crossed beacuse 30% off at a value doesn't compare to free dining for us.

I had a pin code but had to travel before a October so that was no help :sad2:

How often do you call to see if you have a pin? weekly, monthly?

We booked for Dec 2-10 at All Star Movies. Or trip was booked before we knew about Pop Warner. We're going to take a chance ::yes::

Can you get a new pin code even if you already used one? We were offered 20% off room only and booked with it but might they send us a new one? If that is all we get we will have to cancel. Not ungrateful, but just cannot afford it even with 20% off. I might have my husband call and see if we have a new one.

I don't think there's any rhyme or reason to PIN codes. I think you could get one after another - or never get one at all. I'm thinking about calling myself to see if I have one. 30% off room would be better than nothing, if there's no free dining this year.

Ok, so the Pin Codes that come out (like the 30% discount) are for room only. What if you have want to book a "package" - room, DDP & tickets. Can you use the discount for the room portion? Or will Disney not let you do that?

I am in the same boat as some previous posters. My wife got a pin code a few days ago. We are going Dec 3-11, POP, and could save about $240 with this pin. The only problem is the fine print that says full payment is due at booking and is not refundable.

We are really hoping for free dining so we are gambling with the $200 plus in savings... The pin expires on July 7, so I am hoping something goes our way before then...

I hate this game.:headache:

I'd probably pass on that deal on principle alone. They ARE playing games. And it's irritating.
