December 2011 Code Watch!

So DH just got a new job. We definately have to cancel our beach vacation this summer & will just do some weekend mini-cations, which is fine. But, I told DH it better not mess with my Disney trip! I told him he better tell his boss that I've had this planned for a year & if I don't get to go there will be oyu know what to pay!! LOL ;):rolleyes1:rolleyes:

Hi everyone! I just joined the DISboards. Add me to the December list. We are planning on visiting December 17-23, staying at Port Orleans French Quarter. This will be our 3rd visit in 3 years .... we're a bit addicted :-)

I'm trying to read everything but it's overwhelming, so I know this is probably answered a million times. I've never heard of these PIN discounts before though. The last two trips we did travel with free dining, which was awesome, and I'm hoping that opens up again.

Do you have to book directly through the disney website to get a pin offer? I normally book through small world vacations. I'm getting ready to book in the next day or two so now i"m wondering if I should book myself instead in the hopes of getting a PIN. Any thoughts on that?

Also, I just recently signed up for and received my disney visa. If I pay for my deposit for my disney vacation on that, does anyone know if that earns disney reward points? Just trying to decide whether I'm better off using that or my southwest card to get airline points.

Anyway, I'm so excited to be returning! Our first trip was in December, and our trip last year was in October. October was much less crowded, but won't work with our work/school schedules this year. I don't care though - I LOVE seeing disney all decorated for the holidays, so I'll deal with the crowds.

Booking yourself thru the Disney website, won't make a difference in your chance for a pin. If you use a TA, they can call & add the discount for you, no problem. The only reason I prefer to book myself is because I can control it all, while a TA owns your reservation until you go.
You can improve your chances (or so they say) by making sure you are registered on the Disney site, order the planning DVD & some say to price out a trip for your dates & save the offer. I've also heard having the visa may help. I also know that if you have the visa, sometimes the general public codes are announced & offered to visa members a few days ahead of the public. Pins are hit or miss & there is no rhyme or reason to who gets them.
I have no idea about paying your deposit with the visa or the rewards, so I'm no hep there.
I'm hoping free dining is announced as well, it really is the best savings for my family! We'll be there the week before you! pixiedust:

Just a heads up that I don't believe the bounceback code is valid for someone else to use. It's weird that they allowed you to use it.

I was at Disney last year and attempted (while still there) to book 2 rooms for later in the year but was told that because I was only staying in 1 room the bounceback could only be applied to that one room.

Has anyone else experienced this? Are the bounceback codes transferrable?

I'd just feel bad for PP if you're prepared for one price and it changes for you.

We were planning on booking the bounceback when we were there in January, but the offer wasn't in our room! We asked at the front desk and they told us they don't do that anymore. :confused3 Now I read that people are still getting them... guess I should have asked someone else. We were going to book 2 rooms because SIL wanted to go with us in December. I've read that we could book 2 rooms with the bounceback, if one is booked under my name, and the other under my husbands. Never got to do it anyway! It would be a mess as far as room keys, tickets, and dining plan if added, but worth the discount!

Well that's a bummer. Everyone I know who has went recently got a bounceback in their room & the one couple who didn't went to the front desk & asked & were able to get it that way. I hope we have one in our room in Dec. I'm planning on going ahead & booking my Oct. 2012 trip before we leave. If not, I'll just wait!

We just booked a bounceback to stay at Pop Century for Dec 2, 3 and 4th. The discount was only available for Dec 2 & 3rd, 2011.
We booked this last week while staying at AKLV, we called x8844 from our hotel room and had no problems. Now if I can't change our flights which we already booked for Dec 6th I might have a problem. At least I have the room booked for that weekend. If we can't change our flights, I will cancel and go with our original dates...
Its April and I am worried about December.

I have looked, haven't found an actual thread for those of us hoping, wishing, praying for an awesome offer for December 2011!
So, I have made us one!
So, who is joining my family at Disney World December 2011?
We are planning on going December 9-16, 2011. Staying at Port Orleans Riverside. It will be Dana (me), Jon (my DH), Aaron (my DS who will be 15), Christopher (my DS who will be 13), Noah (my DS who will be 10) & Landon (DS who will be 2). Super excited already!!!! Love the planning so this is great for me! This will be the boy's Christmas for 2011, even if it is a bit earlier. They won't know until the week before, just got to figure out how to tell them, but I've got over a year to figure it out, lol.

Hoping for Free Dining!!! Or at least a 40% discount pin!

Hello All,

Our family is planning for Dec3 to Dec11 (give or take a day). Planning on staying at the WL. Super excited about the Christmas Decorations!!! Also, hoping for a discount code! It will defintley make our trip more enjoyable.

I've been saying the same thing for months!! We haven't even made it thru Easter or summer break yet & I'm worried about a trip in Dec.! :rotfl: Only us Disney nuts, right?! :santa:

SAME thing here... we were at the WL the end of Jan into Feb and there was no bounceback offer. We had planned to use it so we asked the front desk. We were told by two people that they were not currently offering bounceback reservations. So we had to come home and book without a code in hopes of a good code to apply later!

For the first time in my life, I was READY to plunk down the cash for a bouceback while we were there last December. So I did some research here and saw they were not offering any at that time. Of course, at that time the deals were out there valid for dates through late September. But we didn't plan to travel again until Fall.

December is slim pickins for bounce back. I booked Dec 2-3 at POP Preferred room at $78 per night weekend rate. The rest of the week is blacked out, so the next night is $110 which is rack rate for a Sunday preferred room.
78/120 = 35% discount
I booked this from my AKLV room on Sunday April 10th by calling x8844.

I booked for Dec 11-17 at Pop using our 35% pincode. I am glad I did because I don't think we will get anything better. We would not use free dining if it came out.

Thanks for the welcome and answering my questions!

I put my deposit down, so we're all booked for Dec 17-23. I can't help but feel that all is now right with the world now that our next trip is booked!

I have another ?. Are bouncebacks something you get offered, or do you have to inquire? The past two times we've been there, I don't recall ever being offered a discount to re-book.

I booked 12/11 to 12/16 with the 35% off room pin code for POR.

I'm STILL hoping for Free Dining, that would save us about 300 more than if we used the pin code.. We shall see..

Ooooh ... I want free dining too! Although at this point I'd be happy with a PIN. We're staying at POFQ.

Usually, if a bounceback is being offered, there will be a postcard type thing in your room with the details of the offer on it. If it isn't there you can inquire at the front desk of your resort, there's also a number you can call from your resort phone but it escapes my memory, I'll have to find it unless someone has a better memory than me, lol. It has to be booked before you check out to leave though.

You can call X8844 from your hotel room before you check out, give them the dates that you want to travel and they will tell you if a bounce back is offered for your dates.
