December 2011 Code Watch!

Even though it would not be "free" you could pay the difference and upgrade to reg free dining and still stay in a value or moderate. That would still be cheaper than paying for all of your food during your stay!

This is very true, which is probably what we will be doing if we manage to get FD for Dec. The orginial plan was to stay POR & maybe upgrade to DxDDP but I think if the mods get the QSD free, we may do 2 rooms at ASMo instead of all of us in the trundle rooms in AB at POR! My YDS has recently fell in love with Toy Story, so staying at ASMo & requesting those buildings would be fun for him. :lovestruc

We too are waiting for the general public discount through dec. 2011. We had a pin code but had to secure it by Feb. 28 and we didn't have the money yet to commit to it. We want to surprise our boys of 8 and 14 that we will be going, hopefully leaving Dec. 15 and driving from Michigan. The pin code was really good but just couldn't do it that soon.

I had this pin as well & let it slide. Planned on booking it but things came up & well....we're hoping for a FDing pin anyway.

Hello,

I am sure this has been asked many times, but how do I get on the list
To receive the PINs for dining and such? We are planning on goin Dec 3-11.

Not sure if I posted an update or not ...
We have our first part of our vacation (December 17-WL 1 night before our cruise) with our 1st PIN... have had that for about 3 months now (just changed it from 2 nights to 1) ....
but since my son's school did a holiday school break change for next year ... we had to knock the 1st one down to 1  , then we will take our cruise, and then go back to WDW..this time at the Beach Club Resort for 2 nights, with yet another PIN :yay: and come home Christmas Eve to the rest of our family!!!

There is no sure way to get on a list to receive a pin. I've read a number of theories but none have worked for me. :sad2: You can request a Planning DVD, or go on-line and save a quote. Others have been successful by calling Disney directly and asking if they have a pin code attached to their name. Good Luck!!!

We'll be in WDW at the same time. I'll be there Dec 7 - 14. :cool1:

I've read posts that say that they have used the PIN for 35-40% off and they are hoping for Free Dining. On the other hand, I've read posts that say that you have to pay the full rack rate to get the Free Dining. I'm booked (and paid in full) for December on a 40% off PIN code. If Free Dining comes out, will I be able to take advantage of it also? Would that money just be refunded to my credit card?

Thanks!

Ava

In the future you can do a room only res which only requires a first night deposit. The deposit is refundable until 5 days before arrival. We've got 8 days reserved in Dec. on that same room discount PIN and have only $200 out on it presently. Unless we get free dining, we won't add the tickets and dining until two days before we leave in Dec. We do it that way regularly instead of buying trip insurance.

I want to go the second week of Dec so I called and talked to a representative and I had a free dining to use before Aug. So I don't have a code either. I will wait to see if I get one. She did tell me that we could stay at Coronado springs for $3000. We will see.

You can only use one PIN at a time .... in other words you can use the % off PIN but if you want the Free Dining you would have to drop the % off for the Free Dining .... you just have to figure how much you really eat and if it is worth it for the free dining. We don't do that many table service meals anymore and unless we have just our youngest we do not do Character meals so the unless we plan on alot of table service meals free dining really doesn't help us, usually the %off is the better discount. It just really depends on what you want to spend and where you want to stay.

I always went Christmas wee and didn't find any codes for discounts but I also did not have a annual pass like I do now I say keep you eyes open, I think it's still to early. For the annual passes June 2, 2011, Good luck keep search hope you get something. :thumbsup2

We're going in Dec. We go every December. We're just waiting to see if free dining extends into Dec this year. We did that last year for the first time and it was AMAZING. Hoping for the same deal this year!

Joining you all in the code watch for Dec 2011 .. we are soo excited to be visiting during Christmas! Happy planning everyone :)

We surprised our kids at Christmas one year and went in January about three weeks later. I got a Phineas and Ferb poster from the Disney Store, wrote "We'll see you in Disney in three weeks!" (like P & F had signed it), cut it into puzzle pieces. I sent them on a scavenger hunt around the house (search online for clue ideas) and with each clue, there was another piece of the puzzle. When they had all the pieces, they put the poster together and figured out what it meant. TONS OF FUN!

I love your idea. We surprised our kids with a Christmas trip last year. They had no idea until we were on the way and got a phone call from Mickey saying "See you real soon" - it was awesome! We are going in August but if the have free dining for December we might go back again! Love the free dining! Keeping my fingers crossed!
