December 2011 Code Watch!

We are booked at POP right now for the 12th-17th but hoping to upgrade to a mod (POFQ or CBR) and add on a couple more days. :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 We might have some overlapping dates! We almost did last September. Funny we are each going at the same times for two separate trips. I guess great minds think alike, eh?

We are currently booked with a 30% off pin code at POR for Dec. 16-25. We had a PIN that expired in April that we used.

I was sent another PIN this week for Dec. but it was only 20% off POR.

Still hoping for free dining - we had it last year Dec. 17-25 and loved it.

Ugh! Finally get the much wanted email from Disney Destinations last night!! & it's............ 10% off Dec. 1-22.

LOL! Here's hoping FD or at least a better public offer is coming this summer!! :hippie:

What dates in December was the code for? Just curious because I had one before but we cancelled our trip and then rebooked it so I lost it. Now I am hoping for free dining or another room discount pin code.

We were quoted for December 16-22. Not sure whether to book. I guess if a better deal came along we could rebook.

I heard that the bounceback for dec 11-17 is 35% off

I have Pop at the bounceback rate for Dec 2nd & Dec 3rd. The rest of the week is blacked-out. Pop Preferred $78.00 weekend 35% off rack of $120 which is for Fri and Sat. Sunday 12/4 is rack $110.00 for Pop Preferred. not discounted.

That is what I did... so far there has been no better deal... but I have the room. I figured it would be easier to apply a new code/discount than get certain rooms.

I just extended our original resort reservations for an extra 3 nights (dec 16-23) at ASMo yesterday (original 4 night stay booked in october 2010) and CM said "we're almost out of rooms--good thing you called today:worship:" Hopefully I'll get a PIN or see a discount --last year we used the discount that was advertised on ABC TV--if not, at least we have the rooms:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

for those dates and Movies, as well as, two, other value resorts were fine to book for the dates you stated. Maybe, the CM was trying to make you feel happy.

Sort of like last year when the CM told me some of the Christmas parties the week I was going had sold out. I knew they WOULD, since it was the last party week. But it was really early. So I asked which ones. She said all she could do was tell me which ones were still available ........... and she proceeded to list off every single party.

Really cheesy........... even for the mouse.

We have requested connecting rooms, so maybe that's where the issue comes in. Either way, I did feel happy!

Those are our dates, and it's our first Christmas at WDW. We will be staying at Pop, but I won't book until I get a decent code. I just feel that if you fill up the resort rooms without getting a discount Disney has no motivation for giving a discount.
At least once each day I get an email from Disney Destinations with information about the resorts I've looked at online, but no offers. It's early, though.

I agree with your statement by booking now at Disney and expecting a code that this does give Disney a false sense of what's going on for the season. I won't book until there is a code and I want free dining especially. I'm not sure I'll do just a room discount deal.

Anyway, I've decided this year to stay off site if the Disney deals are drying up as some are predicting for December. I may even decide not to go. I've done Disney for December for the last 10 years and I'm not going to pay full price or so-called full price at Disney.

We've been spreading our wings lately and seeing other places like Dollywood and Colonial Williamsburg including Busch Gardens. We are saving over our Disney trips doing these other trips. My next adventure may be to hit National Parks out West. Disney is starting to lose me as a customer. I can't afford multiple trips; so, it's getting down to Disney or somewhere else which is cheaper. I'm choosing cheaper!

Not to mention that the December full price is higher than it was last year, at least early December. It used to be the cheapest rate of the year, and that's not the case now.

Hi guys! Still crossing my fingers for a pin for December. I did call disney yesterday to check, and currently none are associated with my name :-(

I'll be able to begin making my ADRs on June 17th. I've never booked a trip early enough to make my reservations as soon as the system opens, so I'm wondering if, based on the restaurants we've chosen, there is a particular order I should book them (if certain fill faster than others). I thought some veterans might have opinions. These are the table service restaurants I plan to make reservations for (and all will be for dinner except for Chef Mickey):

BOMA

Crystal Palace

Beirgarten (DH's favorite .. he will not let me remove this restaurant from our list. Sigh)

Ohana (not the 2 credit show - the regular 1 credit dinner)

Chef Mickey

Tony's

MAYBE Le Cellier (for lunch, not dinner)

Also, any opinions on these are welcome. We've eaten at Ohana and love it, and our family loves Tony's too. We've never eaten at Crystal Palace or Le Cellier. We've also never done Chef Mickey's. We always done the Akershus princess breakfast and decided to try a different character meal this time (now that my youngest is finally not afraid of characters).

Oh - one last question. Based on touring plans data, we're going to go to MK on a day that it closes early for the Christmas Party (we are not staying for the party). Since the park closes at 7, can we still make dinner reservations for that night (that would be Crystal Palace night) for 6 or 6:30 and leave right after, or will they make us leave right at 7, even if we are in a restaurant eating.

THANKS!

You can make an ADR up to (but not at) 7 PM. Once done, they will escort you out. It's a great idea to maximize your touring time.

Thanks so much! I was hoping that was the case but didn't want to wind up surprised if I got booted right as my food was showing up :-)

Has anyone eaten at Crystal Palace by the way? Is it good? For some reason I didn't realize it was a character buffet.

Crystal Palace, we love their breakfast buffet. Good food & the character interaction is great!

For your ADRs, Le Cellier should be #1! It books fast! Sometimes Ohana, Chef Mickey's & BOMA can be tough to get ADRs for. But Le Cellier should be your #1 though.
