December 2009

That castle is so breathtakingly beautiful, wow. I can just imagine what it would be like to see it in person.

I really enjoyed reading your TR. Sad it's over but I can't wait to read your next one! :goodvibes

Wow! Loved your "Germany" update. Your pictures are awesome! So cool that you were able to go to the castle that was the inspiration for Cinderella Castle! I would be putting some smilies in here, but for some reason it does nothing when I click on one! (And here would be the little guy shrugging his shoulders...)

I can't believe you are about to go to WDW! Yipee for another Snobbish TR! I can't wait!

Wow! Thanks for sharing all the "extra" stuff from Europe. I know for me, it was a big bonus since we're planning on going next summer.
So beautiful to see such cool pictures.

We will also be at WDW at the end of July - if I see any AG dolls around, I will look for you too! ;)

Looking forward to the next snobbish report!

Sad to hear this TR is over---what a unique look at Disney!! SO glad you are going to WDW soon

I have really enjoyed reading about all of your European adventures. I fell way behind in the posts, but they were fun to read this afternoon. I love how you placed pictures from Epcot as comparisons. Your writing style is so fun to read. Especially loved all the pictures of the castle.

I thought you might find some interest in the following information. I live near the School Sisters of Notre Dame facility and my DS told me that he had heard that the building is modeled after a real castle. And that the castle was used as inspiration for the castle at WDW. After much searching I found this in an appeal letter for donations. Cool huh?

"In 1855, Mother Caroline appealed to King Ludwig of Bavaria to help fund
the building of Notre Dame Hall in Elm Grove, Wisconsin. He agreed under
the stipulation it be of Bavarian-style architecture with one of the rooms modeled after the ballroom in his
Neuschwanstein castle. Notre Dame Hall was completed in 1898 and housed a replica of the king’s ballroom,
which was the sisters’ chapel for 100 years."

I am sure it is not a major tourist attraction, but it is a lovely building.

Wow, I loved that last update. The pictures of that castle was amazing! Although, I have to say that the picture of the castle on the cliff actually reminded me a bit of the Hogwarts castle from the Harry Potter movies, too. It must have been so cool to walk around it. Thank you for sharing your European adventures with us and I look forward to your Disney TR!:goodvibes

lol, much as I love trip reports, BEING at Disney World is far superior to any TR! Where did you stay? Did you have a fun trip?? Sigh...I can't wait to get back!

Deifnitely agree!! We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and it was a wonderful trip!! :cloud9: I can't wait to go back!! I have a TR going right now! I really enjoyed your TR...such great memories you have!! :goodvibes

Hey Emma!

I finally got all caught up on your TR. :goodvibes You made me want to go to Europe THAT much more. Your pictures are gorgeous, and it seems like your family always has the best time together. I told Michael about the castle at DLP and how you can go up in it--and in the caves underneath it. We want to try to go to every Disney Theme Park in the world--but I told him that we'd definitely have to go in the summer because I don't think I could handle all that snow! Your comparisons between the countries and the Epcot countries were really neat. It's fun to see the similarities. Neuschwanstein castle is breathtaking! I'm sure it was just a dream come true to see it in person.

Thank you again for sharing!! I always love reading your TRs.

I really enjoyed the comparisons! I've been to Germany and saw that castle. Isn't it amazing! Except I went in October and it was snowing and freezing cold! It makes me miss Europe!

Can't wait to start the new trip report! Love the snobby reports!!!
