December 2009 Code Watch

We're still not 100% sure, but it looks like we'll be going back in early December this year, so...

tell me about Christmastime at DW!

I have to admit, I'm a little hestitant about "combining" Christmas and Disney World (I know that sounds weird)...not sure how to explain it, but I definitely want to go when its cooler and I'm not patient enough to wait until Jan/Feb.

Thanks!

I can go if the free dining offer will be there. Did it last year for Dec. I don't care what week, as long as, Disney will offer free dining sometime that month. This was the first time Disney offered free dining for certain weeks in Oct., Nov., and Dec.; so, I'm a little afraid it might not happen again this year.

I'm more hopeful; since, the FD is already happening for the fall. I'll take the 4 for 3 deal, too.

Please, let there be a good deal!

Was the Disney Visa free dining offered last year in December offered to anyone with a Disney Visa or did you have to receive the pin code personally? I don't remember receiving anything like that. Of course we still haven't received anything about the free dining offer that came out recently. That makes me so mad because if it wasn't for the Dis I wouldn't know alot of these things. We even have 2 Disney Visas.
I see that someone said the free dining came out on Sept 18. Does anyone remember what weeks the free dining was for?
We have our December trip booked already for Dec 1-8, but free dining would be great considering our daughter just became an "adult" :confused3 this year and had her 10th birthday.

Thanks so much!!

Christmas time is AWESOME! If you love Christmas Music and Decorations Galore then this is a great time to go. I've never attended the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (requires a seperate ticket for admission) but heard it's fun. The weather can be iffy so pack for anything. Dec 2008, I had to wear jeans, a hoody, fleece jacket and gloves to AK. BRRRR!

Last year, it was first targeted pins that went out, and then anyone with a Disney Visa...you did not need a special pin, just your VISA.

and went to the 20th last year. If you booked starting on the 20th, it counted for the days after that, too.

Pop Warner and Mousefest packs them in early Dec.; so, you don't see too many deals at that time. Mousefest will not be happening this year; so, I'm getting more hopeful for greater flexibility with a good offer for more than what was offered last year fror dates.

We will have to be patient, but I'm expecting more offers to come.

I got the impression that it was for ALL Disney Visa people and select "other" people who got a PIN. The dates were 9/28-10/11, 11/9-11/22, and 12/14-12/20. From what I understand, it also included a small room discount (maybe 20%?).

I sooo hope they do this again!

I booked last night using the 40% pin code that I received in January. It expires today, so I really didn't think I would get my first choice, but I did.:cool1: We're staying at Fort Wilderness in a cabin 12/19-12/24. It was an AP pin code so I didn't need to buy tix, but I did add the QS dining. My birthday is on 12/23, so that's what I'm celebrating! I wanted to stay through Christmas, but the kids want to be home for Christmas this year, so we'll be driving home on Christmas Eve.:santa: Hey, I get to spend my birthday at Walt Disney World, DH gets to stay at FW for 40% off, and the kids get to be home on Christmas, so everybody's happy!

I have seen free dining for UK in December 2009. Is this a good sign for US to have that offer too?

We really want to go back to the WL this December and free dining would seal the deal.

Cool! :thumbsup2 Where did you see that? Was it a PIN offer or a public offer or what? I'd think that's a good sign.

It is on the UK thread on this site when I searched for December deals.

Does that mean we may see this too?

We'll be at GF 11/30 - 12/6. Since the trip is so far away, I'm a bit nervous due to the economic crisis and all. I hope our situation will not change. I'm going to pay down the trip little by little every month so we should be good.

We did get a 40% PIN after we booked our ressie. I wonder if disney was worried that we might cancel. :)

I keep hoping that since they announced the free dining a bit earlier this year compared to last year (for the fall), that maybe they will announce some deals for december earlier too...
I did call to see if I had a code attached to me, and no such luck, but I am determined to call regularly to double check... :)
