December 2009 Brides?

Just a heads up- it can get downright COLD! I know I thought the same thing (it's sunny Florida) but there have been several years where a cold snap blew through and with the humidity it can be downright miserable...just to warn everybody...:santa:

Did everyone get their ADR's they wanted? I have most of mine but still waiting to book more as they are outside the 90+10

Question? Is anyone trying to book the Garden View for a bridal tea? I having been trying for the last 2 days to get someone to answer the phone and I can't reach anyone and I am getting really nervous and frustrated. I really really want to book this and I don't know who else to call. Disney dining, group dining and even my planner's asstistant can't do anything. Any one have any other suggestions?

We got all of our ADR's, but there are two events where we had to split our reservations into two and three groups.

We're having a "pre-wedding" dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse on a Monday night and Group Dining showed no availability. I asked for Citricos as "Plan B" and, once again, no availability. So that's when I knew something was wrong. So I booked three separate tables with three separate hotel confirmation numbers, and the times are all within a 15-minute window. The lady at Group Dining gave me the manager's telephone number and said that sometimes the signature restaurants like to handle their own group events. So I left a voice mail message for the manager on Sunday to see if they could "merge" the reservations together and I haven't received a call back yet.

The same exact thing happened with Grand Floridian Cafe for a group of 12 on Tuesday morning at 10:30. I booked two separate reservations 5 minutes apart and left a voice mail for the manager there.

So, hopefully we'll get some return calls very soon . . .

I almost had to do the same thing with Garden View Longe for the bridal tea I want to host there. However thankfully they called me back today and I am waiting for final confirmation which was supposed to be today but I am guessing tomorrow? Crossing my fingers for that.

However that's great you got all that you wanted! :cool1:

I'm a December bride too, and have been lurking the wedding threads for a while. We're getting married at Shades of Green in the gazebo on December 11, 2009, a year after we met on the monorail at WDW.

We wanted to do a DFTW ceremony at the Wedding Pavilion, but just couldn't work that out with our current lives and budgets. Maybe a VR in 5 or 10 years?

Welcome NitroStitch! We've had a few SOG brides on here, I bet your wedding will be beautiful :thumbsup2

Thanks for the welcome to the thread! Shades of Green is a beautiful resort, and the Gazebo is very pretty. Seeing some of the pictures from these boards has gotten me even more excited about the location.

Now that there are reservations on all of our plans... How is everyone spending their trips?

We're staying at the Boardwalk (most guests are at POR, BWI and a couple at ASM)
