December 2008 Code Watch

We're also going!! Dec 14th-20th....Hope for some sort of discount. Last year we had a Chase Visa discount package, and our room at POFQ came out to $99 p/night. So hoping for something,we're staying POR this time.

How much is their typical discount for when they release codes? I'm trying to decide if it's worth applying for just for that purpose. Also are there anymore park perks with it?

It is the same discount as the general public code, however, you get to book it 3 days earlier (which could sell out the more popular resorts such as Pop or the Poly etc.)

And how much is that usually? I know it probably varies year to year. We're going 1st week in December.

Depends on the category of hotel (Usaually about $15 off the values, $40 off the moderates, and 20-30% the deluxes) Not all hotels and room categories will be eligible yada, yada, yada :goodvibes

I was wondering when that info was going to be shared, thanks a bunch!!
We will be at WL from 11/30-12/07 & thank goodness that did not disrupt my vacation agenda. :)
:santa: :santa: :santa:

UGH! :scared1: Does this mean the MVMCP will be a zoo on the 7th? I just bought our tickets (thinking it would be the slowest night we'd be there) and am in a mild panic!

We just got our tickets in the mail today for MVMCP for the 9th. I was reading on TGM's site to stay away from days that Floridians can go, plus we arrive on the 7th and I did not want to go the day we arrive. Im not sure if Sun is a day to stay away from, cause kids are stil in school so that should take care of that. Have a great time anyway! It is really a magical way to start your holidays, and dont miss Osbourne lights and Candlelight processional either! Maybe we will cross paths!!

Girlfriend and I will be staying at POR on Dec. 3 for 5 nights. With the AAA discount our room rate came to $119 a night- a 20% discount. Will something better then this come along? Some people mentioned 40% but no one knows if that will be available this year. We also have the deluxe dining plan and a 6 day hopper pass.

We are planning our first December trip for 12-1 through 12-8! We are staying at POR. We are very excited to see all the decorations and other fun holiday stuff! I am just trying to figure out the best day for MVMCP. We are very flexible and would like to go at the lowest attendance day possible! Any info would help thanks!:santa: :woohoo: :dance3:

:santa: Ok here it goes, after all my crazy research on many sites and planning our itinerary for the week of Dec 7-14, here is what I came up with for you.

Tuesday December 2nd is your best bet. Here are your reasons:

1. It is a school night for Florida kids
2. Monday is the busiest day at MK, so Tues is better
3. Tues has a discounted rate for advanced ticket purchases, the other days are regular price
4. TGM site reccommends staying away from weekends and any day the locals can come to the park
5. Thurs is also EMH at MK, so it will be more crowded in general.

MVMCP is soooo much fun, so make sure you enjoy it to the max! Come early and stay to the end it will be worth it. Each time we have gone to one of these special parties we have walked on alot of rides and had very little wait for others. Make sure you see the snow on Main street, get your hot chocolate and cookies, and enjoy the special shows and parades. Also, it is a good idea to plan on eating on the run or before you get to the MK so you can use all of your time for fun, not waiting for food. Santa is usually right as you walk in on the left , you can have your picture taken and tell him what you want for Christmas! There is also a free family photo to be taken, they will announce where closer to the party. Go early for the photo, even if it is a long line it goes quick and is worth it! Have a great time!!!

Wow thanks for that. I bought our tickets for the 2nd back on May 1 so I'm happy to hear it may be a good choice.

You need to wait and see what the requirements are for each discount.
The 40% discount that I've gotten for the past 2 yrs. was for an AP, room only ressie, both at the Poly & CR.

Note...not all resorts are involved in the discount....this only applies to certain resorts.
FYI... In Oct 07, POR FQ had NO discount...while the other (POR) did.
Good Luck!!:goodvibes

Thank you so much! I cannot wait! The kids are really excited. We originally planned on going for their birthday which unfortunately coincides with Super Bowl this year, so we decided to check out all the great holiday stuff instead! Thank you again!
