December 2008 Code Watch

I called at 6:38am (Iowa time) and was told no Disney visa code...

and I just called 7:37am here (Iowa) and was told no Disney Visa codes today, again. For the kicks of it I asked if she knew when it would be coming out and her response was "we just know it is not today".

I think the "code" some are thinking they received was a PIN code offer, I received that too... but didn't include my dates (9/28-11/25, 11/29-12/3 and 12/13-12/23-- I needed 12/6-12/14).

I have a silly question about DV codes. I've already got a reservation, but my mom is paying and the deposit was made with her credit card. If a DV code comes out, can I use that code if I pay part of the cost of the existing reservation with my DV? Or would I have to make an entirely new reservation and put it all on my DV?

OK, so this is true Monday...

Let me set the scene...I am a true dineyphile...have gone at least 25 times, 4 disney cruises, honeymoon at Disneyland.. Never a Pin code...its ok though..

So this morning I am reading the DIS as usual...

And the light bulb went off over my head...maybe it went to DH's email...nah, everything is done through mine(being the OCDiser that i am)...but for the heck of it, let me go check..

Well first off, he had 234 emails(oh yes, we will have a talk about that)

So down I go..and there it is...a week old..but there it sat...

A PIN CODE....O...M..G....

now grant it we got it a week ago, so I am convinced there is nothing left for our dates, but what the heck..

I just sent a email off to my TA at DU...

Keep your fingers crossed and wish me Monday pixie dust...(even a little bit of a discount would be fantastic)

UPDATE

Just heard from DU, the pin didn't apply to room only, and nothing is available at POP, but if we switch to ASM it would save us 110. We are traveling with another family, and don't want to leave them behind at POP, so we are passing on it(for now, there is a chance they may cancel)

Regarding AAA -

You can call Disney directly and book a room only reservation with a AAA discount, if rooms are available.

You have to go through AAA to book a package with a AAA discount.

Usually a pin code works on up to 3 rooms... you could change their room too!!!! and save them $110!

Would it work if they have their own reservation?

I know our reservations are linked, but we each have our own reservation number and booked separately.

I know our reservations are linked, but we each have our own reservation number and booked separately.

I would call and have it applied to both rooms, if the rooms are linked (as in grand gathering, or just linked if less than 8 people) they know you are travelling together... as long as you (The pin holder) is there with them, it can be used on more than one room...

Thank you for the info, I will ask them tonight if they want to try to switch. (there are 7 of us total in 2 rooms)

And and Update to the update.

In todays mail we got a flyer with another Pin code. When it rains it pours..lol
However it was in our son's name, since he had his own room on our land sea with his brother. Go figure, we paid, he got the code:confused3

Since his name is on the code, and he is in college and not going with us in Dec(darn pesky college finals, don't they know its DISNEY) we couldn't use it..

But hey, the pixie dust worked, and I finally can say we were offered codes!!!

Just wanted to let everyone know: according to touringplans.com Sept- Dec codes are coming the 14th! Which means DV should be tomorrow or Wednesday. It is for packages and is a discount on rooms. Hope that helps!;)

I have never used a code before. If there is one that comes out to the public and we already have the vacation booked and it includes meals are we SOL? Can you apply it to an existing one or is this to drum up more ppl?

Not necessarily, last time the AP rates came out before any of the others. And there is a RUMOR that the AP & FL rates are coming out on Aug 13 and DV on Aug 14.

Yes, you can use it on an existing ressie, as long as that room category is available under the code.

thank you kindly for the answer, Suzanne. I look forward to hopefully saving some pennies.

Any ideas whether I can see the AP codes somewhere without activating my AP? I´ve purachsed one but only have the "green" voucher as is, since I won´t be activating my AP until November.

You can get into the AP side of the WDW site with just the voucher - it just has you enter the number codes that are on the back depending upon which type of voucher it is and then you are a "passholder" to the website. :thumbsup2

We've had our voucher since May and won't activate it until September but I've already used it to book two room only stays through the AP side of the site.

You can sign into the Passholder site with your voucher number. it is really easy. I don't usually look there for the codes, because the site can sometimes take a while to get info loaded to it, so I check Moussaver.com first, then here to see if the code is released and usually get it at one of these sites first anyway.

I'm here trying to patiently wait for a code ;) I haven't read the entire thread, sorry if this question has already been talked about.... I was wondering if there is any speculation on how much the code would be worth?
