I'm just wondering how it works with the AAA discount. When and if codes or extra savings are released in mid august does my AAA Travel Agent apply those savings?

You can't use more then 1 discount. Last Feb there was a discount for our trip but it was either using CAA(AAA) or the General Public code. It was only dollars different, but i think i got free park hoppers with the General code instead of using the AAA rate.

Wow! Were we at the same Walt Disney World? I was there at the same time (Dec. 14-21) and the crowds were bad in the second half of our trip (at least compared to what I was used to from vacationing in December for the past five years). In fact, we all swore off going the week before Christmas ever again (hey, that's six-eight less in the crowds for you from here on out!).
We figured more and more people were getting brave about taking their kids out of school a week early for the holidays. A few people in our party arrived about three days before us and said they basically walked on to everything. I wish!
This year, we're going 12/5-12/12. We know it's during Pop, but really, we don't find the crowds to be that bad during that time. Then again, we didn't expect crowds last time around either. Fingers crossed!

To me it wasn't crowded, it was more crowded in June 2007. We walked on every ride until around noon Saturday, Dec 22 and it started getting crowded at DHS. It was pretty crowded Saturday evening at MK until after the 9pm fireworks and after the 10pm Spectro, there was nobody in the park. We got FP's once and that was for Soarin, but we didn't use them because we walked on around 10am. I got to ride rides and see shows I hadn't in the past because there was no crowd. Now, we do leav for a break between noon and 2pm, so maybe that was when it was most crowded. On Sunday morning as we were getting ready to leave AKL, there was a huge crowd coming in, but I expected that.

I have ressies @ POR through AAA with a discount. If the "room only" discounts come out and it is better than AAA's...will they honor the "better" price??

Yes, they will change it. With the last few codes, AAA was better, but you never know. AP room only rates for Aug/Sept were even better than FL resident rates.

Hi! I read on Mousesvers.com that there MIGHT be a WDW ticket increase Aug 3rd. I haven't bought my tickets yet. I only have room ressies. I was planning on waiting later and making it a MYW package on my VISA (that way I have more time to pay off lol)

Has everyone bought their tickets yet and do you think the rumors will happen? I just really don't want to charge my VISA yet lol

Historically, when do the discount codes come out? I remember it being dead-on when we booked for last December. I just can't remember when it was! I remember spamming the DIS at 7am that morning waiting for the code! LOL!!

Which discount is usually better for December the AP or the Disney visa for Moderates and Deluxes.

The AP rate is usually better. I think in the past it has been the same discount for each category, ie Value $16 off, Mod $50 off, Deluxe $75-$100 off, etc, but this last code the AP rates were the best. Mod were $50 off, there were no deluxe listed in the last discount, only Value, Mod, and DVC.

You just never know what is going to happen until the code come out, go figure.

O.K... here is a question for you guys!

I just purchased our annual passes with the DVC discount and will be activating them on Dec. 6th of this year. Currently we are staying at Pop on December 5th (checking in around 10 - 11 pm that night) then moving to AKV the following morning to stay for a week. If an AP room only code comes out for this time period, can I use it to stay on the 5th even though I won't actually have an annual pass in hand as I won't be able to activate it until the 6th? You guys seem so knowledgeable I figured someone here would be able to answer this question for me!

at Select Disney Value Resorts including Theme Park tickets
$371*
per adult
based on adult double occupancy. For stays most nights 9/28/08–11/25/08, 11/29/08–12/3/08 and 12/13/08–12/23/08 in a standard room.

Now, I do hope these dates are not a prediction of when AP rates will be offered since I'm just looking for Dec. 5 & 6 before checking into AKLV.

Back in the beginning of the year they sent a code out for that week and it seemed that everyone and their brother, uncle, grandparents and cousins took advantage of it. I actually had my ressie planned for that week but changed it to the week after.

I am not sure where to ask this, but you guys seem very on top of the code stuff. We are booked for a short stay but we might extend it once we are at WDW in December. Right now I have the AAA rate, but I am, like everyone, hoping for an AP or other better rate.

If, once we are there, we decide to add a few nights, would they be at rack rate, or would my discounted rate be applied?
