December 2008 Code Watch

If it works the same as last year, the DV discount was the same as the Disney general public discount except that DV cardholders were given a few days advanced notice. It may have been 30% but can't remember for sure.

I have noticed the last 2 codes that came out were for AP holders first, not the DV holders, not that it makes a difference, I just thought it was odd.

I have a Disney Visa but did not use it to pay for my trip. Would I still be able to get the discount if there is one?

HI-- I was just wondering if anyone knew what the past discounts have been for the Disney Visa Card holders? Our trip is from Saturday, November 29th to December 5th.

We have received offers for Saratoga Springs in the past.. but I didn't write down the specifics.

Our trip from PA is Nov 30-Dec 6. I am also waiting for a Disney Visa card Code. They usually come out the first week to mid weeks in August. I will keep checking.

Probably not, because you have to use the card to apply the discount, but there will be a general public discount as well and you can apply that and get a refund on what you have paid, if you have paid in full.

Did you get the code for this? Another DIS'er was kind enough to share with me and would be happy to spread the pixie dust if you still need the code. Please note, even with the code, it took almost an hour to get the code put on our reservation.

I don't believe there are any public codes out there yet for December - so there is nothing to PM to those of you that are asking.

PIN codes are specific to the individual. Those that got them, when they are used have to be for that particular individual. The person that said it took an hour to get the AP package set up should have had an AP, still not available to general public.
Disney Visa and annual passholder rates with a discount, usually have a code that represents that rate - are not available yet for December. Right now the passholder site only shows rates through late September. A CM recently told me about Sept for December AP rates and I think that's probably about right. You need a Disney Visa for DV rates and an AP or voucher number to show your've purchased an AP, to get an AP rate or package.

Here's an important point to remember about codes from mousesavers.com
"Discount codes must be thought of as a "clearance sale" -- if you want the discount, you have to be willing to take what's left over! It's important to be flexible with both dates and hotels, and to be persistent in calling back periodically to see if anything has opened up." I was just about to say the same thing. I was actually very shocked when I was asked if I wanted the "code", because I knew that once they were public, they would be posted here and on the AP site and I have only seen the current one for the end of summer. That code doesn't end until July 27, so the next code won't come out until probably a week or more after this one expires.

My new AAA rep and I are both on code watch and will add it when it comes avail. I am certainly not going to try to use someone else's code. I expect it might get someone in trouble and might even lessen the chance of code being avail because of sharing and abuse.

I'm anxiously waiting for the Dec codes also. We are booked at the Floridian (first time) this year Dec 6-13th. I would LOVE the get the AP rate with the dining plan!! Woohoo!! I am so glad they are finally offering us a dining plan this year. I have the DDE card but I will definitely save money with the plan this year.

If there is a PIN, it can only be used by the individual who received it. They cannot be transferred.

BTW, I received an e-mail this morning with a discount from Disney Visa, but it was for summer dates.

all the pin codes ended 12/13 that I have seen... that isn't to say that a general public code or AP rate won't come out for that week though...

We are booked at the GF for the same time! I was fortunate to get a 20% pin earlier in the year for this week. Unfortunately, with Pop week, Mousefest and parade taping, the GF doesn't show any availabilty that week at all anymore, so I doubt any type of code will work there if released. (AP, Visa, General public). It appears to be sold out!
