December 2007-which week?

With all the talk of how bad the first full week was this year, when are you December "regulars" planning to go next year? I was originally planning for Dec. 1-8, but now I'm thinking 8-15... Are there any reasons that week isn't good? Do the crowds gradually grow each week in December leading up to Christmas? Are there any events that week?

Thanks!!

:wave2:

people enjoy the holidays at WDW and spread the word. so it just seems natural that dec may get a little more crowded then years gone by. just try to stay away from getting too close to christmas week. first week in dec usually has pop warner. some people had bad experiences with them this year but i did not notice them nor did they seem to impact the parks. however, i did not stay in a resort they stayed at. so i might think about working around pop warner week. second week in dec seems about right

Our trip in 2005(12/10 thru 12/15) was that week and it was great...we caught the very end of the Pop Warner mess...we saw tons of them trying to get through security at OIA as we were just getting there. Our DME driver told us how lucky we were to be arriving that day as something like 20,000 were checking out that day. We walked right into ASMo at 11 am and checked in with no wait. The wait for the airline check in at the resort was ridiculous!!!! made me glad I was arriving that day. We encountered no unruly bunches during our stay and had a fab time. I did notice on the Thursday of that week which was the day we left that the crowd did seem to be noticably increased. I've now talked the rest of the family into going back in 2007 during that time. I think you will be glad you chose the later week :thumbsup2

Thank you!! Yeah, that makes sense. I am really leaning towards that week. :thumbsup2

we stayed at SSR 3rd-8th this year. did not see any pop warner because they usually stay at the value-moderate resorts.

i honestly did not notice them at the parks. i would assume they would go in the evening but the parks at that time of year close early so with their schedule they may not be able to invade the parks.

this year seemed more crowded then past. next year i am going the second week.

how to avoid crowds is a 64 million $ question. you cannot avoid them but you can stay a step ahead with good planning, checking touring tips like from unofficial guide or tourguidemike. utilize EMH and fastpass. go on high capacity rides when it gets crowded. little tips can help greatly. people on here will have many bits of advice for you.

I am planning the second week sounds like that is that less crowded week of December. I really don't want to go the first week with the pop warner nightmare and the week before christmas is crazy. So yeah that leaves the second week of December either that or the week after thanksgiving.
