We have the MYW plus dining booked for Dec 16-22 at Pop. I have my fingers crossed that the free dining will be extended through December!

First I would like to thank you for starting this thread. We (DH,DD-9,DD-7,and myself) will be there Dec. 15-22. Can't wait. This is the first family vacation and the girls are thrilled to experience all the magic.

I just talked to Inez at CRO, and she was FANTASTIC!! Gave me all the correct info about MVMCP, AR, photopass, differences in Concierge, etc.

She also said she thought there would be some type of package or incentive offered for Dec. She told me to do Room only now because I could upgrade it to a package later (if one is offered). Hoping for Pixie Dust!

Elizabeth, the campgrounds aren't included in the free dining offer, but the cabins are. Wouldn't it be great if the campgrounds were included?!

I'm trying not to get my hopes for anything up too much. Earlier this year the CMs were saying that a general public code was coming "soon" and it never did. I don't think they know any more than we do. It would be great if something were offered but I'm going to budget for what I have, not for what may come, kwim? I'll feel more like it is a possibility if they release something for October past the 4th.

I am hoping like all of you!!!! I was looking at the historical codes for 2003 & 2004 and it looks like they have been early with the 2005 codes, maybe we wont have to wait untill Oct for a code!!!! That being said when I made the reservation in March the Cm said to keep my ears open for discounts in October for December travels.

We're going 11/28-12/4. Can't wait! Currently booked w/ AAA discount at POFQ....interested to see what else might become available. I'm not too impressed w/ the current dining pkg...but "free" has more appeal though I haven't looked to see what the room rates are w/ that pkg. Remember the saying, "there's no such thing as a free lunch!"

My personal feeling on the other pkg is that I'm paying for more food than our family would typically eat on a daily basis. We usually have b'fast in our rooms, a sitdown meal for lunch, and light dinner, often in the foodcourt at our hotel, before returning to the parks ... so the MYW dining plan just didn't make sense for us.

This will be our first trip w/ the Christmas season in full swing! I can't wait!

Great thread! Always on the lookout for more helpful tips and like-minded people with whom to share the countdown!

We're going late Nov to early Dec - 7 nights at WL. I booked through CRO, room only, with a AAA discount. They were out of standard rooms, so I had to book Woods View (which is kind of what I wanted, but hoped a standard would be bumped up to Woods, and the Deluxe Resort prices are already pretty pricey, so I was willing to make do with standard view.)

We have the airfare booked too, but I haven't done tickets yet (other than MVMCP for Dec 1). I want to get the 10-day Hopper with No Expiration, since I'm sure we'll be back again! This is our first family trip - first for DS(20 mo) and first true trip for DH (1 day at Epcot and Poly, plus 1 day at DL previously) and our first time for the Christmas season!

I still need to do some number crunching to see if the Dining Plan would be worth it for us. From what I've seen, we'd have to drop the AAA discount on the room (unless we try to rebook the whole package through AAA). Of course if they make the Dining Plan FREE for that time, it probably would be worthwhile for sure.

We already booked it and paid for it through the Disney World website. Does anyone know if we are still eligible for any discounts? A little goes a long way, especially at Christmas time!

I believe you would still be able to take advantage. I know a few years ago, a better rate came out, and they were able to credit us. We just took it as a room credit, that way part of our spending $$ was covered too.

The only catch would be if you have already reached the 45 day out mark, at which it would cost you a penalty to cancel, or change your reservation.

I'm crossing my fingers for this too. If I could get free dining, that would make my life a WHOLE lot easier. This solo has just contracted to buy a house so now every penny counts. If I had known that I would find a good deal on a house, I wouldn't have booked this trip but now I'm glad that I did. It just means that I'm going to have to find a way to make it work. But free dining would definitely help things out

What a great thread! I've already booked a package for Dec 3-11, staying at the CR with the old gold plan. Last year there was the pay for 4 days of the package and get 3 additional days of the package free. I think my chances of that are nil...but if the savings are good enough I can always change my reservation!

I'm also ready to pay what our reservation currently is....I won't cancel if a special doesn't come through. I am currently working extra hours at work to pay for it, as there was a special project that needed to be done. So our Poly GVC room should be paid for by July!

On the other hand, I'd be very happy if a free dining code came out...with 5 in our family, that would be a good deal!

I've done a million calculations and the free dining would work out the best even if it is only 2 adults.
