December 2005 Info, Code, Dining, & Special Package Watch! :)

Just subscribing to this thread. We have AAA discount currently, but would go with free dining if it's offered. Not worth it to us to pay for dining and lose the AAA discount.

Here's hoping!

We are going from Dec 11-18th. Staying at Shades of Green ($99 per night), but would love to switch over to AKL if a code of at least 40% came out or maybe if they offered free dining. We would save money with the dining plan, we LOVE to eat!! Can you get the dining plan (not free, but can you pay for it) if you are using a discount code and not paying rack rate? We aren't allowed to use the MYW Dining at SoG, so with a room discount and being able to buy the dining plan we would save money, otherwise we will stick where we are. I would love to stay at Animal Kingdom though...

We are going from Dec 23-Jan 2 .Today changed my reservation From CBR to POP Century because no AP for my dates trip only full price. :worried: :sad1:

Hi, Janice!

Can't help you with the discounts - those have gotten complicated lately. All I can suggest is: keep checking these boards because if things become available, you WILL hear about it on Disboards!! Also, keep AAA in mind - if nothing else, you can usually get a discounted room or package that way.

The best way to get a free upgrade on your room is simply to ask nicely at check-in. :goodvibes Often depends on when you go too. You're much more likely to get an upgrade if you travel in a non-peak time. But *Magic* can happen anytime!

HTH :sunny:

Thanks Laura! I did in fact make pkg thru AAA, which saved me $175 compared to rserv. thru WDW. But... if this free dining special comes available for the time I'm there in November... that would be a $420 savings. So IF special comes available.. it would be worth it to forgoe the AAA discount since I don't think I can get both??? I'll work it out somehow if it happens.

Thanks again,
Janice

Hey, I'm sure enjoying all I learning from this site! We're on in Dec, booked thru AAA at WL. Can I add the MYW dining to a room only pkg booked thru AAA?
Thanks for the help!

Well I am dissapointed because I waited too long to book and didn't get the AAA rate at POFQ as I had hoped, but did get a water view at POR for 139 including taxes. I spoke with the nicest person at Disney ever and she told me that there is an excellent chance the free dining will be offered again and to watch closely next month.

If they do end up extending free dining, and I already have a package with dining booked (not paid in full yet), will I be able to cancel and reschedule with the free dining?

Thanks

Don't cancel, you'll lose your spot! I believe the agents can 'convert' a reservation.

If free dining is offered I'll take it and forego the AAA discount.

Question though, if you have a package and the MYW tickets are on your room card and you have leftover days can you pay for the non-expiring option and take them home? It's not like the old UPH is it?

OR at least first make new reserv with the free dining and then cancel the other one. I'll see if my AAA agent can "convert" first, if not then see about making new and cancelling old. I wouldn't cancel old ones until I was sure I could get what I want with new ones.

Hi
Just thought I'd say hi and join you with the waiting patiently for Dec discounts!!!!
Does anyone know when hours will be posted?

I stopped getting e-mails of new posts on this thread, so I just wanted to check in again!

still waiting & hoping ...

We just booked! 6 nights in the Coronado Springs Resort from 12/11-12/17, with AAA discount, came to $119/night! Hoping for Free Dining Plan extension, like most, but even if that doesn't happen, the price isn't bad (that's for the King Bed room, a standard room would have been $107).

We have a great deal with my TA right now for early December. :) We have POR for $89/night from Dec 3 to the 6th and then the Poly for $234 from the 6th to the 10th. That saves us $150.53 off of rack for POR and $312.20 off of rack at the Poly. We can get meal vouchers for the old hotwire prices too. I've been trying to figure if the free dining plan would be better for us if they offer it but with using the meal vouchers, I'm not sure if it will or not (of course we don't even know if they will offer it but I'm just that type who has to play with the numbers constantly! ;) ).

Time to get out the calculator! :rotfl:

What type of rate is that? That is less than half!!!! Or, is this off the rack for busy season?
I am at the GF the 11th-18th..MVMCP on the 15th WOO HOO!!!!

SOOO excited!

Got POFQ Dec 11 to 18th for 109 plus tax waterview MVMCP on the 13th. Booking CP for the 15th on Monday yoo hoo Can't wait

1. If I already booked through WDW, can I call back and ask for any discount codes to be applied to my reservation...if there are any?

2. Does anyone know if they would actually have any discounts for 12/24 - 1/1/06???? That is their busiest time so I wouldn't think so.

Thanks!!!

You can call and apply a code to a pre-existing reservation when they are released, I have done this many times.
