I just booked the best guest rate for Wilderness Lodge for December 24- January 3...$185/night plus tax for courtyard view room. I am sooooooo happy that they finally released these dates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are these rates that were just released today? Are they the AP rates?

CBR sounds like a best rate. We got ours for a bit more than that, but we also booked a king-sized bed room.
Last year, the AP rate for a preferred/king room at a moderate was $89 plus tax. Fingers crossed for that again!

Just saying hello :wave2: , and letting everyone know I'm still keeping a watch for discounts or specials with the rest of you!

We decided this week to go back to WDW from 12/11 to 12/17. We were there last year during the same week and got POR for $104 incl tax per night. This year I priced both CB and WL and the best rate I could get at CB was $119 ex. tax which was a AAA rate and $216 ex. tax for a CY view at WL which is also a AA rate (no more standard or wood view rooms left at AAA rate). I am not an AP member. Would I be able to get in on any free dining package not being an AP member (i.e. is this potential deal open to the public or AAA members)? Sorry if this is a repeat question but as I said before, we just decided this week to return to WDW in December (can't wait).

All I can suggest to you at this point is keep watching these boards!! The *free dining* was not tied to AP - in fact, you couldn't get an AP room rate and get the free dining; but it ends on 10/4. Even if you were an AP holder at this point, your dates of 12/11 to 12/17 are less than 120 days out, so no benefit available there either.

Many of us are thinking codes may be released toward the end of this month. Many are hoping for free dining to be extended - that would definitely benefit your family!

Keep checking these boards; call WDW periodically - if nothing else, maybe a "standard" rate will open up; AAA might have cancellations too - I'd keep trying; a long shot but you might want to try a site like Expedia too. Just don't get discouraged and don't give up!! Good luck!

I'm actually going for a DW trip in October before our Disney Cruise and then I get to back with just my fiance on Dec. 13-18th and I can't describe how excited I am!!! :Pinkbounc
I feel guilty for not taking my 5 year old, but I'm newly engaged and this is a pre-honeymoon before we get married in May and go to Hawaii for the official honeymoon!
So I've been hoping that they bring back the free dining deal cause I've already (just in case it gets booked up) booked with AAA for POP Century for 61.60 a night but I'm still looking for better deals.
I just can't wait to see Disney at Christmastime!!! :earboy2:

Assuming the free dining will be extended, how does an AP get free dining plus the AP discount rate on a hotel? I tried to do that in September and they said only one code per reservation and I would need to buy a 1 day pass for each passholder to get the free dining plan.

How does this work?

We'll be there 12/13 to 12/18 too. I hope that they give us free dining, but I am not sure if they will extend it! Posting so I can keep up with any discount news!

I may be wrong, but I don't think that you can get the free dining with an AP room only rate. You would have to go with the lowest room rate available and then add the free dining. Someone who has done this might know better. I'm just getting this from what I have been reading on the boards.

I believe I read somewhere that you can get the AAA room rate and the free dining, but only a AAA travel agent can book it for you. I'm in the same boat and I'm waiting to see if the free dining gets extended. Hopefully we'll find out on Monday.

We are going Dec 16-23. 6 kids 2 adults. First time trip ever for the kids. Hoping that we can get the Free Dining option too. It would save me quite a bit. Staying at POR.

Just one question for everyone..If they extend the free dining say to Dec 20 and we are staying until the 23 do they just charge the dining to you for the last days or is it something like the value season price, once booked it extends through your stay? Just wondering and keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm hoping for the same thing! We're going Dec 16-24. Staying at WL. I would LOVE free dining.

From my understanding from reading other posts it extends to the length of your stay. If I had to guess it would go until the 19th, cuz that is the end of Value season. Just a guess though.

Hi,
Can someone tell me what kind of discount AAA offers? Is it as good as the AP discount? Might be worthing signing up!

Typically 10 to 20% for room only; packages vary - you can get some good deals. And if *free dining* is offered again, I believe you can get that with an AAA package.

To me, it's worth having AAA for more than just WDW. Many hotels accept AAA for at least a 10% discount. Their most valuable service is the road service however. They've been there for me when I've had flat tires, dead batteries, locked my keys in my car (not once, but twice!); free towing. They also discount cruises (including DCL); provide a service called Trip Tix where you can route your road trip on-line (like an enhanced Mapquest!). They also provide discounted auto/life insurance; discounted theme park tickets..... No, I don't work for them! I just love the peace of mind of having them just a 1-800 phone call away!
