December 2,2006...Anyone want to join us?

I can't sleep!!! I'm way to excited!!!!!!! Gotta make myself so I can be awake tomorrow.....turning the lights off....see everyone onboard!!!!!!!!!

Have fun 12/2 cruisers, and get her back on time on 12/9!

We will be waiting!

John

I just wanted to pop in and say that I hope you guys are having a great time! Have fun and make sure the Magic gets back in one piece. A few of us have big plans for the ship starting next Saturday!!!

Reluctantly we'll be back on the 9th for all of you. I'm surprised to see that no one else on board has found time to post here since Saturday.

Having an excellent cruise...a few minor issues (wardrobe malfunctions we'll call them!!), but otherwise awesome!

Welcome back everyone! Hope all arrived back safe and sound after last night's "rock and roll" return to Port Canaveral. Had fun being blown across Deck 10 before dinner last night and seeing the deck chairs flying around. Part of me wanted to head back up around midnight to see what it was like, however common sense prevailed.

We had a great time and have pretty much figured out we were known as the "cat people" on Deck 7. We had at least two sets of people ask if we were the people with the cats on the cabin door.

PD....you and Nicole looked awfully cold last night on Deck 9 when Kathy and I ran into you guys!

Too bad the new health precautions prevented the Cove Cafe goodie 'fridge from being stocked, but Danielo was "excellent" in bringing us things from the back as we sipped our coffees.

Well we left the ship around 8:30 and got home around 10:00. All in all we had a wonderful vacation.

As we entered our stateroom, I was very disappointed to not see the romance package I was hoping would be sitting there.

I missed the dis meet as I was off to guest services to find out what had happened with the REAS package. This was to be a surprise for DH (we were celebrating our 18th ann.)

I spoke with Marc the CM in charge and he told me he would look into it. I went back to the room of course I was NOT happy. A few minutes after I got back to the room they called and said it had been cancelled.
Back down to guest services I went. I Never cancelled anything! I spoke to Marc again, this time in tears and he told me that somehow between Dreams Unlimited and Disney it got cancelled when we got our upgrade. He told me he was waiting to hear back from dreams, but it was Sat. and they were not open.

Anywho, Marc told me he had to make sure he had everything on the ship. None the less I was not happy but I kept my cool. We ended up getting the pkg. all though it was no longer a surprise for DH. We never did get the romance turndown whatever that included.

Even though that was all screwed up we had the most fantastic time. We were lucky the weather was perfect. With the exception of Castaway Cay. But even with the clouds and breeze it was nice.

Funny story: DD(17) got locked out on our Verandah during Cozomel, people on the ship next to us were trying to contact people on our ship to help her. DS (8) finally dialed housekeeping, It took 3 people to pry open the door. She won't ever forget that!

We rebooked for 2008 while on board. We booked for April but as soon as Dec dates come out we plan on changing.

Wish I could of met some of you and hope everyone had a wonderful time.

Michele

:goodvibes Nice meeting everybody...DH & I decided to extend our vacationfor a few days. We are currently at Port Orleans Riverside till Tues. We even got AP rates & passes to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party! Back to reality then....Hope everybody had an awesome time, I know we did!

Michele - What a snafu with the romance package! If the turndown is the same as it was a couple years ago, here are a couple of pictures. Sounds like the stateroom attendant wasn't told that the package was back "on" for you.

Also had a few petals leading to the tub and a few in it as well (as if two people could EVER fit in it!) :rotfl2:

The quirk was had with our verandah door was the to unlock it you had to follow the instructions to lock and vice versa... Bet your DD was one unhappy person!

Katie - Glad to meet you guys as well and that you are extending the fun as long as possible! Wasn't that Palo brunch great??

It was quite the ride back. The weather at Castaway Cay was an indicator of what we were to expect that night. One of our guides on the Personal Watercraft ECO tour told us a cold front was coming through at the time.

BTW - The ECO tour was CRAZY because of the high waves! We were the last group to go out - 6 of the 10 people scheduled didn't show up. It was sunny (well, partly cloudy) when we left. My DS and I rode tandem and the waves were intense once we got out in the open water past the Magic. We were getting blasted in the face with waves, too. Kinda of fun, but the taste of sea water got old real quick!! When we got to our first stop and looked back at the Magic (about 2 miles away) the dark clouds seemed to have surrounded the ship! During our stop we stayed warm by standing in the water as well.

All-in-all we had a great time on our trip. We did have major issues with Cruise Line formal that I'll need to straighten out tomorrow when they open. My tux had one leg longer than the other & my DS' tux was the wrong size & his shoe fell apart!

My only other comment was the coughing & sick kids all about. No matter how many hand wipes you hand out - people will spread germs by coughing out in the open. Everywhere we went we had kids coughing on us. One 8 -10 year old girl was so sick - she looked horrible and with a real nasty cough, too. Her mom was carrying her around Shutters and she was coughing on everyone - people were getting real pissed, too.

drclaws: Thanks for posting the pictures! Well we survived without that, but it sure looked nice. They did manage to send up one huge cheese platter one night.

I guess DS pushed the handle down while joking around. Once it was down it got stuck and he couldn't get it back up. In the end maintanance came up and got the door open. DD laughs about it now but when it happened she was a little scared.

Hello all - well sadly we are back - I tried to walk back on the ship on Saturday but they caught me :( I cried when I was leaving. The rocking and rolling the final night was HORRIFIC - my sister in law was sooooo sick. I loved the shows - the food was so so for me - but I can not eat a lot of foods....our servers were FANTASTIC! Sadly did not meet any of you on the cruise - I felt like I was always on the go!!
I wish I was back on board.

:guilty: :guilty: :guilty:

As much as the sail away party is more fun when you actually DO set sail while it's going on, it was great how they held the ship to allow the weather delayed group make it onboard (no doubt flights booked through Disney).

One of the funniest things was watching from our verandah and seeing one group in the terminal being checked in. Next you see them being led down to the actual dock toward the Deck 1 forward gangplank...as soon as the young boy saw the ship he RAN toward the ramp. HE was getting on the ship even if it meant leaving the rest of his family on the dock. Fun listening to all the cheers and applause from the ship as each group boarded. Kathy ended up chatting with the Mom later in the cruise.

That last DCL bus must have hauled it from the airport. Figured we were good to go once the two ship's officers ran from the terminal to the entryway.

Yeah it was a bit weird to not sail away during the party! We were enjoying our dinner when we did sail away.

Some folks didn't make it all on Saturday. There was a party with us on a tender back from Grand Cayman with all their luggage. Something about having to board the cruise at the first non-US port because they missed the ship in Port Canaveral.

We left on Thursday night and our flight was delayed nearly four hours - for no other good reason than "air traffic", but that's the reason we always depart at least a day or so early.

yes I was also very happy that the final family made it on the ship. It was great that they made it. I saw your stateroom on the 7th floor - I was up there walking to my brothers room and saw your pretty pics of the cats and was like "ohhh man - my DIS Family!!!" I was going to leave ya a note - but DBrother did not want to wait for me to do that...

I hope everyone had a blast - DD is going to keep in touch with all the people she met - via emails/instant messanger and phone - the Stack was a blast - per her and my nephews - they partied daily till 2 am - sometimes even 4 am!!!!!

DH was a huge hit on Pirate night - he was walking around with a Stuffed Monkey named Leo - and many many times he was zoomed in on the DumboTron - it was a riot - he gave out 15 autographs - and told them all he was NOT jack sparrow - and had over 20 pics taken with children and families!!
heheh

Yes, there's a US maritine law (don't ask me the name at the moment) that prevents boarding of US passengers on a ship that sets sail form a US port until it has stopped at a non-US port. Old law that has to deal with commerce. I know during the hurricane season last year, passengers who were delayed were permitted to board at key West, but DCL had to ask for a waiver. I think I read that the fine runs $1000 per person otherwise.

We've gone down at least a day early. This time we added a couple days at Boardwalk first since this cruise was during our usual DVC week.

Yeah, our kitties made our stateroom rather obvious....

Did anyone else see this great costume on Pirate night.....

He got a huge round of applause when he walked into dinner that night. Then his server "borrrowed" the head for the limbo line. I have pictures (of course) somewhere.

How was everyone's dinner companions? We had a great mother and daughter (11).

My dinner companion was great...just DH & I at a table alone, we had Philip from Croatia (SP?) and Daniel from Romania at Table #24 2nd seating. We went everynight but formal night (we were at the Spa Villas all aftenoon).

drclaws: brunch was AWESOME, I saw the pics you posted on the christmas decoration thread...Palo was beautiful :)

We had 14 ppl at our table. 11 of us and the interpretors from American Sign Language services - they were AWESOME people - Marvin / Tara and the little princess - loved them to pieces - we will keep in touch with them for sure!! they made the cruise wonderful for my sister and her husband. I am not sure if any of you attended the shows where they did the interp's for us - but totally amazing!!!

Yes I saw the parrot man - he commented on my DH's outfit and took a pic with him - too funny -

I just cant wait to stop swaying - it is still making me sea sick!!
