December 2,2006...Anyone want to join us?

Welcome home everyone! we had a fantastic time! started out a little bumpy (no pun intended) but long story short...we ended up being upgraded from a 6 to Cat 4 (so nice!) and also got picked for family of the week! :cool1:

Yes, there was alot of coughing/sick kiddos...mine got the head cold, rough cough just a few days after leaving the ship and they hardley went to the clubs..ah, well...

Drclaws&DVCKathy: It was great running into you on the ship every now and then. We loved all the Kittie pictures!

Our stateroom hostess was wonderful :cool1: She did the blanket oragami and hung a monkey on the light with one of our hats and sunglasses! She talked to us every time she saw us and commented on how nice we looked when dressed up. I kind of felt bad about leaving messes, she almost seemed like a friend!

I have to fax a request for the waitlist. We finally decided that we want to go labor day weeked 08. That will be great because my DD's birthday is that week! It doesn't really matter which itenerary, I could visit the same places again or go somewhere new.

My DD coughed on the cruise, but hers is sinus/allergy stuff. Hopefully people didn't think she was sick! I'm sure they did because I probably would have if I didn't know her situation.

i was lucky i had a wonderful staff for out waiters we had adrian and adiyta they were AWESOME with the kids

Miztigg - What seating did you have & what table number were you at?? We had the same servers!!! Adrian was a very good server (he also helped us out in Palo) and they were both very kid friendly. We did find Adrian a bit "stuffy" with us grown-ups, but I think he was just being professional. He took a few shots from a guy on the main cruise forum board though for being rude at Palo though.

PrincessDaisy - CONGRATS on being picked "Family of the week" I was hooting and hollering when they announced it. What perks do you get for being chosen? ( if I may ask? )

We where not the family announced when boarding started...I guess, they pick a few families for family of the week?? We found out the second night of the cruise as we returned to our stateroom after dinner and found a huge plate of cookies. There was a little card on top that said "welcome family of the week" and all week we received a new "treat" each evening...huge fruit platter, coloring books, arcade cards, more cookies and little cards with are names on them. It was a nice surprise! we enjoyed it very much. :thumbsup2

Gemma is amazing and like a very good friend now. We had her as our server that first time we set foot in Palo and have requested her each time we've been back. We were at dinner Tuesday night and she was also serving the Captain and the Steering Committee in the side room. She's the one who taught us how to properly fix the stolen, whipped cream and berries at brunch (or at least the way she likes it she said).

we had gemma at high tea we loved her and then requested her for dinner we will be requesting her on our next trip along with adrian 2008 seems sooooo long away
at least well be in disney in sept

It appears that I may be cruising again. I have hooked DSister and she is a DCL AHOLIC! - she is going to try to book another cruise ( her treat ) for her son and my daughter's graduation present. She wants to book at Catagory 2 Suite for us all ( we get ALONG GREAT!!! ) so I maybe a cruising fool again!

Dwayne & I are sick as well...we couldn't stop coughing last night. I brought him to DFW Airport today, he flew back to Iraq. A very sad day, I won't see him again until Sept :(. I felt even worse because he was so sick & tomm is his birthday. I started my trip report & am uploading some pics. I will put a link up as soon as I post it.

My thoughts are with you and him. This cough (thing) is a killer. I have no voice from all the coughing and when the cold/flu started my voice was the first to go - so it is HORRIBLE! I still think it was the little one sitting near me on the flight - she just kept touching me and I kept saying to the mom - "is she sicK? cus she is coughing and her nose is running" the mom was like "just the tail end!" and would wash her hands and face with a cloth...but that crap is airborne. I am hoping no one else in my house gets this. It is a doozey :guilty:

Hope everyone is feeling better! My kids and I are still coughing  I heard lots and lots of kiddos coughing on the ship and thought ah, man, watch the kids get sick over in Disney World :guilty: sure enough...we are still coughing!

Katie hope you feel better soon and sorry hubby had to fly back sick :guilty: Looking forward to your trip report.

Hope everyone feels better soon! Only problem we ended up with was Kathy having a toothache, but I suspect that not something she caught on the Magic or the flight back! :teeth:

Sounds like we were lucky....perhaps the martinis helped!!! :rotfl2:

Steph, you can tell Nicole that Smokey wouldn't stop meowing at us when we walked in the door. Must have gone on for at least 20 minutes. :rotfl2: Pepper was happy to be back home, although the Vet staff didn't want to give him back.

Sounds like Smokey & Pepper are glad to have mom and dad home :sunny: Nicole has all the pictures up on her wall...that was so nice of you guys! Riley loved looking for the cats on our stateroom door. I made a pumpkin pie and thought of you! LOL!

I submitted a picture from Castaway Key to cruisecritic.com, and won the Member Photo of the week contest (a T-shirt!). Check it out on their home page.

We were lucky to have a really great mousekeeper (Sarah) and server (Roberto). Sarah always asked where we were going, and where we had been. She complimented the girls when they were dressed up for the teen club. Roberto made napkin headpieces for the whole family (I had a crown! My DH had Goofy ears).
