December 2,2006...Anyone want to join us?

we got our palo dinner and brunch  and booked our stingray excursion on Grand Cayman. The only tea available were for the same days I got a dinner or a brunch so I skipped that. OK back to bed.

We also got dinner and brunch on the dates and times we wanted. We didn't book anything else because we are not sure if we plan to do any excursions this time or not. Didn't book the spa either, because I am not a fan.

Checked this morning after getting out of bed and it looks like nothing is available at Palo anymore until the 75 day mark.

:thumbsup2 Alright! just woke up at 9:15 San Diego time and had my choice of Palo Dinner, brunch..but alas, no tea time. There still seemed to be lots of time to choose from for dinner and brunch.

:wave2: Hi everyone!

We are going on this cruise, too. There are 4 of us - me, DH, and 2 DS (8 and 1). It will be our 4th cruise. I have been a little slow to post because we had a DW trip we just got back from on Monday. Free dining took a lot of planning but was worth it in the end.

Anyway, I am working on making flounder reservations but we have a sloooooow :snail: internet connection. Thankfully, we are not planning to reserve anything else. My DS (8) is looking for an email pal if anyone is interested.

Chat with you soon!

Palo Brunch on Sunday....
Palo Dinner on Tuesday...
Rasul on Thursday.... :rolleyes1

Yup, worth getting back up at 2:55 a.m. At least it was on a long weekend!

Stewy: My ds (9) would be happy to be your sons email buddy. You can PM us if you want.

Looks like a few of us are having dinner at Palo on Tuesday...we plan on double dipping..taking the kids to dinner at our assigned restaurant (eat just appetizer) then head up to Palo for late dinner at 9:00 for me and hubby.

Looks like our plans are coming together! I still have to decide between Captain Marvins and Nativeway for stingray excursion but looks like we will do Key West on our own and go to Paradise Beach in Coz.

This is getting so exciting

I think we're doing Captain Marvin's but I can't decide on which tour to book (the 2 stop or 3 stop snorkeling tour).

Tink&Squirtsmom: Hey Welcome back! how was Kenya?? I am sorry I didn't realize you where back already :thumbsup2

Kenya was AMAZING. It is so beautiful there and I loved the Kenyan people. They are very open and sincere and extremely welcoming. The kids were soo smart. They loved school and were extremely educated which was crazy given the condition of their classrooms (dirt floors, crumbling walls, no light so it was very hard to even see the chalkboard). They had great attitudes and such amazing spirits, which just blew me away when you considered most of them were orphaned, many had AIDS, they got only one meal a day (if that) and shocking living conditions... and many of them were considered to be the fortunate kids (they had something to eat and a place to sleep, whereas alot of the people don't). I saw alot of really hard to see things too, so its taken me awhile to decompress and get back into my normal routine here. But I would love to go back with my family when my kids are a bit older and stay for a year or two.

Yikes we just saw on the news about the unfortunate death of Steve Irwin. He was stung in the heart by a stingray. My dd (14) now does not want to go to Stringray City...she is freaked out. Sigh.... :confused3

 This is our first cruise. You guys were able to make ressies already because you are returning cruisers, but I can't make mine until Sept 18th - is that correct? I just gave my TA my charge to pay off the cruise this morning. I'm getting excited!

OK, so I haven't been seen on this thread since like the first page or so, but I have been following along. Question: Does anyone else wonder whether our cruise just isn't all that full? The thread for the week after us is over 20,000 responses and the week before is over 2,000. We're just about to crack 400? Maybe we don't have a talkative group or maybe our cruise isn't full. I checked Disney's site the other day and all room cats. are still available and, while prices have gone up since we've booked, the increases haven't been as large as I've seen on past cruises. Just wondering if we're not that full. Hmmmm.

Plus I had no trouble getting everyhing I wanted the other day when I booked our ressies. I got Palo for dinner, brunch and tea, plus the 2 excursions we wanted. :cool1: I was prepared for some disappointment but had no trouble.

Also, we had debated doing Tulim in Cozumel but decided not to. But out of curiosity, when I looked at the ressies it wasn't listed. Was it ever listed for this cruise or did anybody notice? Are they still offering it? I couldn't imagine it booked up before 90 days, but maybe it did. I'm just curious what happened to it.

Well, I'm so excited and ready to be going!!! Now that the ressies are booked I'm chomping at the bit. Unfortunately, now I've got to go back to work. Urk.

As of yesterday there were cabins available in each of the categories (excluding 1-3) on the DCL site, with at least seven Cat 5s listed. Seems like it's certainly not full! We got our reservations, but I was there early.

Hi there! I am not sure if the cruise is full or not but the two cabins next to me are empty :confused3 I have looked at the Disneycruise website to check out cabins and those are empy but they will probably fill up as we get closer to our cruise date...I think quite a few people book a few months before the cruise. They must not know about the Disboards.

I think the activity on this board will pick up as the Dec 2nd date draws near. :hourglass

Just giving us a bump...we are on the third page. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Third page? YIkes! Then again, I don't mind if the ship isn't full!

After last weekend's reservations opening up, I now have reservations for High tea, dinner and brunch, however brunch is 1/2 hour after my parents go and Flounder's is not taking reservations for that time. So here's my poll:

Do you prefer Palo's dinner or brunch?

I have only been to dinner, but I'd like to hit all three on the cruise, and the brunch menu looks great!

This is my first time trying palos at all. We have reservations for both dinner and brunch and I am excited to try both but I have heard the brunch is great!

After Steve Irwin's death last week my husband and ds9 are both afraid to go to stingray city (neither of them was too thrilled to go to begin with). I guess I will cancel our excursion.....I was really looking forward to it. I heard 7 mile beach is really beautiful so I think that is what we will end up doing. Now I have to decide if we should do the stingrays on CC since they do not have any stingers.

Luvmykids: I know how ya feel about the Stingray excursion on Grand Caymen. I am still trying to talk my dd (14) into doing it :confused3 We have been to 7 Mile beach and it is beautiful! I would like to do the stingrays at CC but my 4 yr old isn't old enough to participate :guilty:

As for the ship being full...I just checked DCL website and the two rooms next to mine are still empty. I wonder how many people are gonna book last minute? I ran the numbers and it would cost $6,500.00 for my family to cruise if we had waited to book as of yesterday! Yikes we paid half of that by booking a year ago.
