December 2,2006...Anyone want to join us?

Hello everyone! I spend a lot of time at the Passporter boards, but its my first time really looking around here. I'll be on the Dec. 2nd cruise, along with DH, DD17, DD13 and DNeice 14. This will be our first cruise and I am really excited!

Welcome to our group! I'm sure you'll get the cruising bug like all the rest of have. You are not going to believe how much fun you can have in 7 days. DCL does such a fantastic job of making everyone feel special.

All this talk about door signs reminded me I haven't worked on ours either. Count me in on the DIS magnet tag.

I made a bunch of Magnets for our door, so count us in on the Dis Magnet Tag!! :teeth:

Hello Cheriemek and welcome aboard :thumbsup2 :teeth: My husband, son (4yr) and daughter (14) our also looking forward to the cruise! I love the Passporter book! lost of great information.

I just finished one door sign and will work on my magnets soon too. So how should we do the magnet tag? do we want to set up a roster with stateroom #'s and names? I think it will be fun to find a few new magnets on our door on the cruise.

I wonder if the Residence Inn will put us all on the same floor! We have three rooms booked there the night of the first. I emailed my friend for advice on where to go that day, and I think we'll hit Epcot. I want to buy an ornament from each country, and I want to go see Germany and buy a Mickey and Minnie Hummel, if they still have them. Does anyone know? l lived in Germany twice while in the Army and collected quite a few, but a mickey one would just be the best!

Momof6innc: I like your idea of buying a Christmas ornament from each country in Epcot! I never thought of that :thumbsup2 and if you don't mind me asking...what is a hummel??? :confused3 :teeth: I gotta remember to buy a Christmas ornament w/the Magic on it from our cruise. :Pinkbounc

Looks like my flight will be getting in at about 8pm the friday before the cruise and we will just walk up to the Hyatt and check in   :woohoo: :woohoo: can't wait!!

Hummels are old fashioned ceramic figurines from Germany, of little children, holding an umbrella, climbing a tree, carrying a basket. Disney had the Hummel company make a few of the more famous ones with Mickey and Minnie instead of the regular faces. I have quite a few of the more common ones, like the umbrella and trees, and I want to get a Mickey one to match.

I had a dream last night that the DCL castmembers came to my house for a party in between cruises, and they kept asking me for help with their scavenger hunt!! Boy, do I need a break!

Oh, boy, did anyone hit the sale? I just bought, flip flops, beach towels, bathing suits, Waikki Dress for me and dd, and shirt for hubby & ds, shirts, etc. all kinds of stuff with 15.00 off coupon and free shipping :cool1: I am all done with my cruise shopping. :Pinkbounc

Hey Everybody,

Long time no see. I paid off my cruise today!! Woohoo!!! So now I have the all clear to sign up for our activities on Sunday. The problem is I have NO CLUE what I am gonna do. We have been crazy busy here this summer and I haven't looked at cruise stuff in probably months.

Ok, I know I knew the answer to these questions at some point but I've forgotten it now and can't find the info so I would love some help.... We know we want to do Palo for brunch and dinner. Which are the best days? I don't want to miss Animator's Palate or Pirates Night. I might enjoy Palo on Formal Night but not sure when that is either. For brunch, isn't there a character breakfast one of the at sea days? How do I know which one? I would want to do brunch the other day.

I still need to figure out an excursion for Cozumel. What are other people with 4 year olds doing?

Also spa treatments? Anyone done the Spa Villas, are they worth it or should I just go for a Rasul or couples massage? My 29th bday is in Dec so I splurge for that.

What time can I register on Sunday again? I'm on Pacific time.

I'm so confused. Not that having trouble picking between awesome cruise options is a bad place to be. ;) Are all you guys way more prepared then me??

One more night! I am working a night shift Saturday, so I won't have to stay up until 3 am, I'll already be awake! I just have to get with the extended family and see what they want; I've got all their numbers etc.

Yes, I've hit disneyshopping sales for months now!! I have the Waikiki dress with my daughter, and DH has the shirt. Problem is my older boys are right in between kids and adult sizes, so we decided not to get them for the other kids, as they wouldn't be matching. That's OK, I've got other matching stuff! The bathing suits, matching sandals and cover ups were a real steal this week!

You guys are smart. I thought I was doing so good by buying summer clothes extra big so they would still fit in Dec. But of course my kids decided to grow (which is for my kids extremely unusual, my 4 yo is still in 3T's and my 6yo can still wear 4 and 5's, so I'm not to used to them outgrowing clothes soo fast). I'm gonna have to try and hit some end of the season clearance sales ASAP!

Good Morning good morning - Nice Long weekend for me - end of summer - wowo!! I remember thinking back in May - we have to get through the summer before I get toooooo excited - but now I am 2 months 27 days out till I depart from my home - OH MY GOODNESS. Cruise is paid off, tomorrow I will book our One excursion ( we do not plan on do any more than one planned one - the other things we will just let it happen ) and DH's Pirate costume came yesterday. WOOHOO...

Now just need to save all the spending DOUGH we want and get the fitting for the tux, a few odds and ends' pick ups and we are done. Still do not know if my brother and his family are going - they are not talking to us right now - ::shrugs:: I did check on the reservation and it is still booked - not paid - but still booked. I tried to call the other day - but with caller ID they didn't pick up. Sister and I are not sure why all the drama - since we are not sure why they are mad. No matter what the reason, if they chose to come on the cruise, they best leave that attitude back in Boston! ehehe - I plan on enjoying to the max!

The last cruise (04/2003) I could not enjoy - since I was two months out of having major surgery and was sporting a colostomy bag due to that surgery. So I could not do much of anything except sit and watch DH and DD enjoy. So this one I am planning on HUGEEEEEEEEEEEE enjoyment...

so the only thing we are doing is the Stingray City excursion....we are not even doing Palo - DH said he just wants pizza/ hotdogs/ and the regular food at AP/PC and L - fine with us!!!! eheheh

can't wait to meet you all --- how are we going to know each other???? is there going to be a small party for us? do we want to do something special for an hour ?  :woohoo: :woohoo:

Three months to go :cool1:

TinkandSquirtsmom: I called Disney Cruise and got this info:
1st night: Casual
2nd night: Casual
3rd night: Formal
4th night: Casual
5th night: Pirate night
6th night: semi formal
7th night: casual

As far as the character breakfast goes you do not find out until you board the ship....we are all in the same boat. I hope this info helps you.

Tinkandsquirtsmom: I also forgot to add as far as dining in Animators you also will not find out until you board and get your dining ticket.

If you have the early seating I saw on the boards that the seatings are:

5:30 Animators/parrot cay/Lumiere
5:45 parrot cay/Lumiere/Animators
6:00 Lumiere/Animator/Parrot cay

I don't know if this helps any but good luck with your reservations!

I do not have a four year old but I have two boys 6 and 9 and in Cozumel we are planning on taking a taxi to the beach on our own. Probably Paradise Beach. We will be doing Key West on our own and the only excursion we are booking tonight is the snorkeling with the stingrays in Grand Cayman.

I'm at work (nurse) frantically setting up my duties so I can be free in 2 1/2 hours. I'm curious as to what will actually happen!

I knew as soon as school started time would fly by!!! :woohoo: :hourglass :woohoo:

Thanks for all the info. I knew I wouldn't know what night we get AP, until we get on the boat but knowing that as long as we don't do Palo the first 3 nights we won't miss the "show" at AP (a HUGE hit with the dh and kids last time) is very helpful. So i guess I'll book Palo for Tues night because it will guarantee I won't miss AP, but if I end up with Lumieres on Mon, I will try and switch Palo to then (that menu looks least appealing to me and I'm not much of a formal dress person for a family dinner, I'd rather dress up for a romantic night with dh... although we'll gussy up the kids for pics, lol). I guess I'll book the brunch a bit later to make time for the character breakfast. Agghhhh!! So much to think about. ALWAYSLISAD I love the idea of only booking one thing and letting everything else just happen. In Hawaii and Disneyland we do just that, but on the cruise there is so much going on that I don't miss! Oh well, I know however it works out we'll have a FABULOUS time!! 1 hour and 20 minutes to go till I can make my ressies.

Alright got Palo dinner and brunch, and the couples choice in the Spa Villa reserved. Decided no excursion in Cozumel (for now) or Key West and Captain Marvins in GC so I will book those separately. Now back to sleep!! Good luck everyone else!!

I got Palo dinner (two reservations for 2 each, for me DH, sister and BIL), and high tea, but my dad's reservation couldn't open. I have his castaway club number registered, but it would never open, and at 3:15 am dinner and high tea were gone!

I booked high tea for 2 with my reservation and 2 with DH's, but he won't be going; it was for all the girls in the group (we have 4 cabins). I hope they can switch it over to my mom's reservation!

Now I can go back to work!

I got my Palo brunch reserved but it would only let me reserve for a party of 1 to 2 and there will actually be 3 in our party. Oh well, I should be able to add on an extra person---I hope! I also reseved some alone time in the Spa Villa and parasailing at Castaway Cay. Now, back to bed! :)
