December 17-22… too crazy?

Hi everyone,

Hubby and I are talking about coming to Disneyland December 17-22, but we would be flying from Vancouver BC and it is a huge chunk of change and I would hate for the parks to be full and denied entry when we spent all that money and came all that way.

What are the chances of the parks being full on these days? Is it pretty busy in the week before Christmas?

It will be busy for sure December 16-18th because the Signature AP and the Deluxe AP are blocked out after it and most people are going to want to go and see the decorations before they aren't allowed to be in the park anymore.
I feel like it may not be super busy during the weekdays of the days you are there but I would still expect it to be busy because some people are out of school around that time for break. (It won't be like Christmas day between NYE status but I am pretty sure it'll be busy.)

Ok, so Christmas day and the week following are likely the most busy, and the week before (during the weekdays) will still be busy, but not quite as bad. That is good to know. Thanks again.

We usually go during the afternoon/evening when school gets out during the beginning of that time frame & I've never had an issue, or worry, about the parks being at capacity. It's crowded, but, honestly, it always is!

That's exactly what I wanted to know Drusilla99,

We usually go in the summer (August) and it is typically very busy. I've never been during "off" season because my husband and I are both teachers. We are used to being at Disneyland at peak times, so I don't mind it being busy... I was just worried it was going to get so busy that we wouldn't be allowed in.

So, we would be flying down on Saturday, so we would be in the park on Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs, then fly back on Friday. We are all early risers and typically would be there for park entry, so you think during the weekdays if we made it for park entry the chances of it being full would be pretty slim?
