December 17, 2006 4-Night Wonder Cruise

Tammy,
I found the same thing. I thought it was because I printed it out once and they won't let me view it again. I guess not.
My guess would be they are making changes to the language and we will have to sign the new version. Legal stuff.
Do you think it is because we are (unfortunately) still a certain number of days out from our sailing date?

You think anyone ever got to the cruise and refused to sign the contract?
:rotfl: Not if they want to sail!
Halloween - done
Election day - on deck
Thanksgiving - coming soon then down hill to the cruise.
Oh, yeah! I keep saying out loud that we are outta here on 12/9 and not lookin' back! I am forcing myself to not actually start packing until after Thanksgiving, however! :upsidedow

I just got to thinking today of making a packing list for stuff I don't want to forget. Where to find the time?

First off, thanks to TammyAlphabet for inviting me to the meet thread. This cruise is a me and mom - no husbands, siblings, grandkids!! I am Dorothy and my mom is Helen. I have sailed on Disney before, but it was a number of years ago. My mom loves to cruise, but has never sailed with Disney. I live in Orlando where I am a school teacher. My mom lives in Santa Fe, but Cocoa Beach was home for a number of years. We'll be spending a couple of days at Port Orleans before the cruise. My dear mother is a cancer survivor x2, so every moment is precious. I am looking forward to grading those final exams, picking mom up at the airport, and hitting the high seas. We're booked in cabin 5622, and have booked Palo for dinner on Monday and brunch on Wednesday. We plan to do the Ardastra Gardens tour, and then a little shopping in Nassau.

How many days is it?!?!?!

Welcome dcassetta!
We're only a month out from the start of our vacation...which will include a week in Orlando. I am jealous that you actually LIVE there! My DH has NO desire to live in Florida, but if it was up to me... :sunny:
What a special trip for you and your DMom! I will be curious to hear what she thinks of DCL....as an experienced cruiser of other lines, that is. It was my ailing MIL that first got us onto DCL back in 6/05, but unfortunately during the time between booking and sailing, her health declined to the point that she needs kidney dialysis three times per week. We are, again, sailing just the 4 of us (mom, dad, 2 kids).

Hi to everyone else too in our meets group :grouphug: ! We'll be at the wine tasting in no time!

Marcy

Hi All

Been looking for this thread for quite a while, now seeing that its been going for nearly a year, I obviously wasn't looking very hard :confused3

Anyway we have finally made it to the thread, it will be our first cruise, there will be four of us in total, myself, DW, DS 8 and DD 6

I can't say the kids are excited as we are being totally wicked as we are not telling them until we get to the port.

So if you see two totally hyper kids at the port then they will be mine :teeth:

Paul

Hi Paul! Welcome!

I thought your comment was funny. I wanted to reply that it will be the adults who are super excited in my family!!

Well the adults are very excited in the family, the kids are currently oblivious to the whole thing.

DW just keeps thinking of Titanic

Hey Paul,

Welcome to our little group.

We did the same thing last year for our kids. We packed and said we were going to grammy's house. So they were excited to see her. They went to school that day, and at lunch, I gave the teachers a Mickey and Minnie to present to each child. The note said that Mickey and Minnie wanted them to visit them first at disney before going to grammy's house. Boy were they excited when we showed up after the dolls were given out and we had our mickey ears on. They got to leave early, as we had told the teachers earlier that week, and drove to disney.

We brought back the class, something from disney to say sorry for disrupting them that day.

So have fun and surprise them with a fun trip.

Getting closer....I tried to book a Palo dinner....I think it is sold out...But, I have brunch.

My family is mixed. My girls and I are bouncing off the walls but DW is worried about getting ready for the holidays and the cruise. I tried to explain that we don't need 16 different kinds of cookies this year.

Travel Channel Dis Cruise show on Thanksgiving day. 2:00 Chicago time. Check your local listings.

A little help, please. I have a couples massage booked for 9:15 on the at sea day. Thinking of cancelling and letting everybody sleep in and start a little later. Any thoughts? I'm sure we can find other things to do after the kids get sent off, I mean settled in, at their activites.

Thanks.

Hi All:
We booked a category 12 guarantee cabin to save money and when I logged in to the DCL site this morning our room number had been assigned. We got a category 9 room with a window. Very cool! :woohoo:

Has anyone else booked a guarantee cabin?

30 days until POFQ!

29 Days to POFQ.
I see you have a DD 12 I have DD11. Maybe we can get them together before the cruise.
We are planning on being around FQ Thursday night and Saturday afternoon.
Let me know if that fits into your plans.

Hey, maybe they gave you our cabin and bumped us up to a cat. 6??! Unlikely, in fact, if there were extra cat. 9's available for the gtys, then my hopes are dashed.
We sailed in a cat 9 last time and were perfectly happy. DS was only 4 at the time and I had scary visions of him climbing on a chair or table on a verandah to get a better look and.... well, for now, we'll keep that big window!
We are in count down mode now too! T-day will be at my mom's this year so not much to do this time (has been at our house for last 6 years!) and since we'll be gone Dec. 9-21 and Dec 24-28, I am thinking Xmas decorations will be at a minimum. This all gives me a bit more time to hang on the DIS, read TRs, look at other's pictures, and dream about our trip! :cloud9:

Wonderful SingleMalt!!!! Congrats on the upgrade!

I have a almost four year old daughter and a just turned one year old son prior to our cruise. I'm concerned what if hubby or myself might have to take turns missing the evening show. I've been on other cruises where they will do re-runs of the shows on the tv. Just curious if anyone even stayed in their cabin long enough to notice! Also, what time is Main Dining at. That is the early seating, but I am not too sure what time that is. 5:30...6:00...6:30pm?
Love reading all your dis boards and what everyone has to share.

Well, it's been a while since I've checked in on the board and I see we've got a few newbies on board. Welcome !! :thumbsup2 We have a nice group that loves to chat. I already feel like I know everyone.

I'm still looking for a teen girl for my daughter to hang with in the teen lounge. If anyone has a teen let me know, we can exchange email addresses so they can chat before the trip.

We are less than a month away !! :cool1: I can't wait !!!!!!

Marcy, I started packing a month ago... I bought a big storage box and anytime that I'm out and find something that we might need for the trip, I buy it and put it in the box. I got the idea from my sister-in-law whom is also in our trip party. She has two boxes filled already.

If you are talking about the BIG shows (Hercules, Disney Dreams, and Golden Mickeys), you may be surprised how much your kids will like the shows and actually pay attention.... at least the almost 4 year old! I would take them and sit where I could get out if one loses it. But, I wouldn't be surprised if you all are able to sit right through them.
I remember hearing about the shows being on the TV in the room but never actually saw it. I do remember Pinoccio being on over and over!
On the 7 nighters they have matinees---we did those to free up our evenings. The audiences were filled with little kids at these afternoon show. I don't know if there will be a matinee on the 4 nighter---maybe on our sea day?
Sorry- not any help about dinner start times. I can't remember if they are stagering the times on the Wonder, or if it was a trial thing on one of the "special" itinerary cruises.
Looking forward to meeting you all!

Hey Grumpy -
I don't think we'll be able to meet at WDW since I'm not sure where we'll be or when, but we'll be sure to hook up on the ship. I'll buy the first round! :drinking1
