December 12 - 19, 2009 Western Magic

The easiest way to do the FE room thing is for us to bring our most current copy with us....Fearless Leader usually brings extra copies for those of us who will forgot/mis-lay ours. Then at the cruise meet, we circulate the info about room changes--some will buy upgrades, some will be pixie dusted, etc. IF Fearless Leader is arriving at port early, she will sometimes establish a spot....like at the far end by the bathroom hall and say she'll be wearing a red MM shirt....and people who have room changes can meet her there prior to boarding and update her list. It also helps to have a dry erase board at the DIs-meet so changes can be posted there.

Interesting that we have a report of at least one paid upgrade on our cruise at this point. Thanks for letting us know!

There's no way to know when they will finish doing our room assignments...whether it will be the beginning, middle, or end of this week. It might not even be this week, although that's how things have been running recently. Sometimes it's not till 30 days! Do remember if you booked a gty that your room can be changed up to the time of checking in.

That's awesome!!!!

Aloha, We booked this cruise a month ago. We originally had a cat 9 for four --and Disney called me almost a week and half ago and offered me a cat 6 for 300 dollars more. I jumped on it.

So I'm sure it's starting to trickle down.:cool1:

Hello I am bevtoy (Bev) from the Disney Cruise Meet thread! I am also moderator for our offsite web group. Its private because people post names ages kids and stuff. We have a Fish Extender GIft exchange going on its a fun DIsney Cruise tradition if you want to participate let me know I will add you and your families names and ages (send me that too) to the list of participants. There are polls, coupons and other info at the off site.

On the FE exchange you get small inexpensive gifts and most people bag them. Over the week of the cruise you deliver them to other people who are playing. Its so fun! Read through the thread a few pages and you will see the FIsh Extenders people make. You dont have to make one the cabin stewards will put them in your cabins if you ask him. Or people will hang them from the fish outside your stateroom door. ( I made some home made crafts and bought a few inexpensive items to put it) I use nae tags so folks know it from me. Some people give items particular to where they live, a Tennessee person once gave a tiny bottle of Whiskey, and an Asian woman gave gifts to us from Japan! So far there are around 14 cabins signed up for the gift exchange so you would need 14 gift bags.

Another tradition is stateroom door magnets but its not as popular as the FE exchange. I can help you with that if you want more info follow the link at the bottom of this letter.

Remember to send me your email address I can send you an invitation to the group. I need names and ages of those who want to be in FE gift exchange if you are interested let me know if you are not interested. Thanks!

Welcome Redshoe!!!!:banana::banana:

Shoog, that is awesome! It's true, we have mickeys in our eyes too, and still it seems so far away. Although I must admit, I'm starting to feel the pressure of getting all the little things done in time.

Me too.
I don't want that inevitable crush to get things done to be too overwhelming, especially since I have to have all our Christmas shopping, baking and stuff done before we leave on the 11th. We won't be back home from this trip until the 27th.

I have 2 suit cases down .... I am packing smaller things from a list I compiled and printed. Checking them off as I go.... got the pirate costumes and formal wear hanging clean and ready to pack. Trying to keep last minute stress down to a minimum

Hey, I was just wondering. Because so many of us will by Cat. 12 gty, and assignments could change right up until we sail...... Any suggestions about how we can keep track of the room number changes?

If we all have our base list with us, maybe at the cruise meet, we can announce those that have changed? And our fearless FE leader, maybe have a copy kept in your FE so that we can run by if need be to see where everyone is? (label it to be kept there...LOL)

Just a thought....:confused3
I am going to give you my cell phone and cabin number (unless mine changes) I will make sure I can contact all of you. I am posting changes on my door. Can't wait to meet everyone. Hopefully those room assignment will pop up soon. I am checking 3 times a day.

on the last cruise i was on room number changes were announced at the meet.
I have a question are we going to use some outstanding identification marker to recognize each other at port? We have used those mardi gras beads that people give away at festivals.
Any ideas?

I will have most recent copies at the 3 PM meet. I will give everyone my full name so you can contact me through guest services if you can't make the meet. I think you can just call from your room and be connected.

As long as we have your correct room number, don't even need your full name. Cabins can be dialed directly. This is also a good way to leave messages for family...call stateroom from any house phone--
Hey mom, I'm by the pool, it's 3:00" sort of thing.

I phoned my TA today (not the one I use now...this cruise was moved from forever ago), just to mention to her that IF the great DCL call came, please be sure to reach me. She supposedly checked with DCL and was told that they don't make cabin assignments till 2 weeks before sailing. Sorry, but it's sad when we know more than the TA and the CM. Bottom line...no assignments yet.

But we are at 46 days time to celebrate.:cool1::dance3::yay:

Hi Bridgette, my daughter Sarah is 9 1/2. I am sure she would love to meet your daughter.

Carole

Great...Hopefully they will meet! Her name is Masha. She will be the one that will be hanging around the hottub. Will she be going to the kids lab?
This is our 2nd Disney cruise. Looking forward to the cruise!

Yes, both my kids love the kids clubs on cruises so much... when we went on Princess last January - we couldn't drag them out until closing most nights! It's our 2nd Disney cruise as well.. we did a 4 night Bahama cruise in August of 08, then the family went on a western caribbean on The Ruby Princess last Jan... It was great.. only 100 kids under 18 out of 3000 people... the kids got such superior treatment there!

What I know today...
There has been a report from a person on the cruise following ours getting the "buy an upgrade" call. There has only been one report that I've seen of such a call on OUR date.

DCL is still selling every category on our sailing (I don't know about 1,2, or 3)

It's cold and rainy here and I don't like it.

SWA dropped their prices for our dates TO MCO. My flights were already cheaper than the current sale price, but it might help someone else. If you've already booked, they WILL give you the sale price. The difference will be in the form of a voucher number that can be used within the next year by anyone--does not need to be the original traveler.

I think there were two families with calls. One family accepted. Our family declined. Hoping for some pixie dust. Otherwise, we'll be perfectly happy where we are

We've never had a call for any of our cruises. Weird, huh?

Anyway, checked SWA, of course, it's no cheaper for us.

What is your daughters's name and where are you all from? We are from Myrtle Beach, SC. We will be driving down on Friday, Dec. 11th. We got a Cat. 12 Guarantee hoping for a little pixie dust!~We figured we would save the money for something else. We were in Cat. 9 on our 1st disney cruise 5 years ago. Can't wait!

FE gang....Target has some really cute Disney stuff in their $1 section. Mickey and Minnie, Princesses, etc. on stickers, dry erase boards, playing cards, etc.

My daughter's name is Sarah and we live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We are flying in on the 10th and staying at the Poly for 2 nights. We will hit magic Kingdom on the 11th and then the cruise on the 12th. Afterwards we are staying in Orlando and hitting NASA (when we get off the cruise), then Discovery Cove and most likely Seaworld.. then home a couple of day before Christmas. We are currently in a cat 5 - possibly looking to upgrade to a suite at the port... will have to see...
