December 12 - 19, 2009 Western Magic

Well, hot zing! I thought my rate of $40 was good, but this new code lowered it to $29.89 TOTAL. Unfortunately neither of the codes had availability for the return run....so I'll have to pay $40 then. Still not shabby!

Thanks for the new code!

Here is an answer I received from the MUM Panel on WDW Home Pg. It's regarding transportation. I have not decided yet, I will decide on location.

Question: By Me.

"Hi, sailing with the Magic on Dec 12th and returning Dec 19th On our retur we are planning on going to JFK Space Center. What do you recomend we do with our luggage and and or trasportation ?"

Answered by Kimberly L, PA from Mom Pannel

"I wanted to make sure to get this question answered since I see your vacation is only a few days away. Soon you will be enjoiying the magic and wander of a Disney Vacation at sea.I would highly recomend a one way car rental Butget, Avis, Thifty and Hertz are all nearby Port Canaveral. Butget is the closest to Disney Terminal and offers a free shuttel to their Cape Canaveral office. Visit www.mousesavers.com for Butget car rental discount codes.
Undercover tourits offer discounts to the JFK Center. Therefore your luggage can be secured whil you visit KSC.
If you will be returning to Orlando International Airport plan enough time to return your rental car. Butget is located on hotel property. Just follow the car return signs. You will also need time to check in your luggage, go through security, and locate your gate. Allow aproximately 45 minutes to 1 hour for the drive

I would recommend the car rentals as well MRAven. Follow what I typed at the end of the last page to see the code for Budget. They are the best to go with overall and the best rate that we have seen. For the 19th however, the cars with Budget seem to be sold out. The other option there is Enterprise, who has a low rate as well...or at least they did. Use both Mousesavers.com and CarRentalSavers.com for the best rate codes.

If you need more help, just ask.

One more to graduate on my 10th posting.

Welcome aboard, both the ship and the DIS!

And just to make you happy, hopefully you realize your room is actually a Cat 11 room, so you got an upgrade from your Cat 12 to a better room location, or at least a room on a higher deck!

Since you said you can't wait!

Cant wait to see how this looks all decorated for Christmas!

I think I mentioned before that I've only seen the Magic in December, so all your non-Christmas pictures are a treat for me!

I'm sorry to ask, but realized that I have a favor to ask of any of you driving in (or renting a car to get to the port.) Usually we drive, and hit the Publix or Walmart before the ship to get some bottled water for the cruise instead of paying for the outrageous cost on the ship.) I use this for my meds that I take (because the water on the ship, while desalinated, still has quite a bit of sodium in it and it effect my BP and causes me to swell.)

Could any of you that are doing a stop prior to arriving at the port possibly pick me up a 6 pack of bottled water, or even the little 8 pack of aquapods (something like Deer Park or Zepherhills?) I'll gladly reimburse you for it. I would be VERY grateful if someone could help me with this.

Thanks in advance!

Oh my--only 2 more days to get everything done. Took my son's pants to get them hemmed today, so I'll pick those up Thursday, hope to finish packing by Thursday night (yeah right--me? finish packing early? NOT!) I wish I could find a way to add a few more hours to my days!

Everyone getting excited yet? What are you most looking forward to on the cruise?

That last picture I posted was from Dec 2005. Here's some from Dec 2008! I'm starting with this one, since it was taken on what was in essence the night before this cruise last year (this was Dec 12th the last night of the Eastern)

So pretty. It's been since 2006 that I was on the ship while decorated for the holidays. I am looking forward to seeing it once again. We missed in 2007 by one week (they were putting up the tree the day we got off the ship.)

All those pictures of the farewell party made me sad, since I was thinking about a cruise ending and forgetting all the excitement of the beginning!

So here's some of the holiday cheer that will greet us when we get there Saturday!

The Deck the Deck party was a new party they started last year. Here are some pictures of it! They got all the kids (and some adults) up on the stage at various times to participate!

There are lots of characters that wear holiday attire on our cruise. I was wondering for instance if Belle wears holiday attire the rest of the year? Here are just some of the outfits to look forward to!
