Organizing a DIS meet is not all that difficult. All you need to do is pick a time and a place and see how many people show up.

There are many different locations to have one. Some people prefer to do it near the pools, which I don't really care for because it is next to impossible to find people and too busy usually by the pool.

There are many lounges that can be used, Promenade lounge, Diversions etc.

We had one at Diversions once which turned out quite well. It is quiet, out of the way a bit and usually there is a bit of food available and of course the bar is there too. Children are allowed in Diversions before 9pm during the day, so that is no problem.

I think DIS meets need to be kept short because everyone is so excited about being onboard and there is so much going on that most people don't want to spend a lot of time at a DIS meet.

Just my opinions on DISmeets. I am sure that others have plenty of opinions also.

YEAH! Cruisin' has volunteered to organize the meet. Tell me when & where & I'll be there!

and yes, the FE is closed now so this is the final list..

DIS MEET???

Since I seem to be elected to organize the DIS meet here is what I propose we do.

Promenade Lounge (easy for everyone to find and lots of space)
2:45pm (no time limit but I'm going to suggest we keep it short 15-30 minutes at the most)
There will be a natural time limit because the lifeboat drill is at 4pm and we all need to head back to our cabins before that.

Everybody meets, says hello, gets to recognize a few faces around the ship for the next week.

Nothing special planned, unless I think of something before we leave but I'm not real creative.

How does that sound to everyone. We should all be onboard by then, have had lunch, explored a bit:confused3

Sounds PERFECT!:thumbsup2

I will add the info to the first post!

Okey dokey.

Done :rotfl:

You're awesome!

TO everyone:
I PM'd the FE exchange list link to everyone involved.

If you have GTY status please let me know as soon as you get a room assignment so I can update the list AND mark your cabin on my handy dandy room locator map (I will make copies for everyone and either hand them out at the meet or slip them under your cabin doors).
I also added a breakdown of gender/ages to make it easier if you are doing individual gifts..
If anyone has changes, delivery day requests, etc please let me know and I will update the list!

:worship: Andrea thanks so much for organizing the fe and thank-you Cruisin
for setting up the meet. Getting really excited now and can't wait to meet everyone! :yay:

Andrea and Robin. Thank you for helping to make this cruise fun for us all!
Looking forward to meeting Y'all (from a yankee who has lived longer in the south)

:woohoo:Mer and daughter Susan:woohoo:

The cruise right before ours is getting their GTY assignments now, so we should not be too much longer before we start to see ours showing up :dance3:

So...I just ordered my fish extender:yay: I am getting soo excited
and even am starting to dream about being on the cruise .

I'm using the FE that I made for our last trip, I spent all that time & energy I'm gonna have to go on 100 cruises to make it worth its "value" lol

Where did you order your fish extender? I am not sure I want to tackle the challenge of making my own!

We started buying FE gifts! This is so much fun!
