December 11, 2010 7 Night Western Magic (Part DEUX)

what exactly come in the cruise documents?

I don't have it right here with me but I can tell you what I remember.

It is a small spiral bound book.

It has your luggage tags so your bags can find your cabin.

Verification of your cruise dates and the passengers in your cabin.

Any excursions or Palo/spa reservations you may have booked already.

Ground and air transportation information if you booked that thru Disney.

Also information that you need to know but probably already do know.

That is all I remember right now.

Everyone's room assignments are updated and the list is complete.

I made a map for everyone to make it easier to find all the cabins...

Here is the link

and here is a pretty preview pic of it!

5 weeks from tonight we will all be onboard the Disney Magic, having fun :boat:

Andrea - nice job on the maps! Can't wait to use them!:woohoo:

Sending lots of good thoughts your way that the cruise documents show up tomorrow without the kids around!

Thanks for the map Andrea.

That makes getting the job done much more efficient.

I learned the hard way our first cruise..the ship is BIG and it took us 2 hrs too long ot drop off FE stuff. The map makes it a little easier to see that you only need to walk down one corridor here then up stairs there, etc. Hope it helps everyone else too!

I did something similar last time too.

Except instead of taking an actual map of the ship, I just wrote down directions.

Go to cabin #.... go up middle stairs to next deck and on to cabin ......

Etc.

That worked too but yours is easier to follow.

Thank you very much.

The old memory does work sometimes, although it seems to be much less these days than it used to be :lmao:

Since a lot of people seem to be showing up now I thought I would put out a reminder about the DISmeet.

A short DISmeet will be held at 2:45 pm at the Promenade Lounge on the afternoon that we board the ship.

I hope that as many people as possible can stop by and say hello.

The meet will be kept short (less than 1/2 hour) since we will all have things that we want to be doing around the ship

See everyone there!

Hello to everyone...just dropping by to give you guys a quick update for why I appeared in the meet thread and then disappeared so quickly. First of all, the good news...we are still coming on the cruise and we are still participating in the FE exchange. Now for the bad news...I was notified a few weeks ago that I have been RIF'd and will need to separate from the Air Force by 1 March 2011. As you can imagine, I've been scrambling to get things together and come up with a game plan. It only took a day or two to get over the initial shock, and now although the uncertainty causes lots of stress, I am also very excited to see where this next chapter in life takes me next. This whole experience goes to show that no job in today's economy is secure...not even a job in the military for someone who has faithfully and honorably served for the last 12 years :confused3 I am of the mindset that things happen for a reason, and when one door closes, another on opens...so please send pixie dust my way to hoping I secure a new job in the civilian sector. In the meantime, looking for a job has proven to be more than a full time job in and of itself, so forgive me if you don't see a lot of posts from me between now and the cruise...I am with you guys in spirit!

Shannon,
Good luck in your search,
We will see you on the ship. Hopefully employed.

Sorry to hear you have joined me in the unemployment line. I've been here for a year now. I know I need to go back to work but I have to admit, I'm loving having the time off to travel and enjoy life with my husband. I'm considering it a chance to get a taste of early retirement and have something to look forward to when I can really retire in about another decade or so.

I didn't know there was such a thing as military personnel being downsized. Thank you for your service for 12 years.

Aww Shannon that stinks. I hope the job search goes well and that this cruise is a nice piece of relazation before all the stress of a big life change. I'll be sure to provide you with at least 12 oz of stress relief:drinking:
It's the least I can do to thank you for your service!
